| After weeks of rumors and equally strenuous denials, Sandi Jackson resigned as Chicago´s 7th Ward alderman Friday, the latest chapter in the stunning, scandal-laced downfall of what had been one of the city´s most prominent and powerful political duos. (Snip) In her resignation letter to Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Sandi Jackson alluded to her husband´s medical problems by saying she was dealing with "very painful family health matters," making no mention of whether she had become ensnarled in his legal problems.

I have to keep asking how Jackson Jr. could use campaign funds to redecorate their house without the wife being involved.I´m sure Jackson jr. doesn´t have a degree in color coordination.

Hmmm . . . nothing politically happens in Chicago without a reason and cause. Is the heat getting too hot in the kitchen for her? Or . . . . ??? Maybe she and her beloved is out of favor with the powers that be?

We had a saying in Vietnam, "Payback is a mother". Doesn´t happen as fast as you want but it always happens. It´s time it happenened to the jacksons. Sr, Jr and their family members. The next thing to go should be the Budweiser distributorship Sr blackmailed the company to give to his other 2 worthless sons. They all need to serve time.

When Fitz, the federal attorney, was going after Blago (possibly at the direction of the kenyan klown and Valerie Jarrett) Fitz didn´t shut off the wiretaps quickly enough. And it could very well be that a subordinate federal attorney won´t let Fitz continue to shelter the Jackson jive any more. I know my post sounds silly, but it is Chicago, after all. And when enough people are at risk of prison, someone will eventually talk. But that person could die in prison, like Bill McDougall of whitewater fame. This whole Chicago mess could come untangled over the next couple of years. Time for a special prosecutor, hey?

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will appeal a federal judge´s ruling that his agency systematically singled out Latinos in its trademark immigration patrols, marking the first finding by a court that the agency racially profiles people. Tim Casey, the lead attorney representing America´s self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in the case, said an appeal of the finding that the agency racially profiles people was planned in the next 30 days. The decision by U.S. District Judge Murray Snow in Phoenix backs up years of allegations from Arpaio´s critics who say his officers violate the constitutional rights of Latinos

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder’s fingerprints are all over an FBI warrant that authorized snooping on Fox News reporter James Rosen, the Justice Department confirmed yesterday. The FBI warrant that sought Rosen’s private e-mails as part of a leak investigation and called him a possible “co-conspirator” in a crime was authorized “at the highest levels of the department, including discussions with the Attorney General,” according to the Justice Department. “The Department takes seriously the First Amendment right to freedom of the press,” the agency said in the statement, saying it took “great care” in deciding to

WASHINGTON— US President Barack Obama set out Thursday to redefine the US fight against global terrorism. But despite calling for a more targeted and not "boundless" theater of global operations, Obama left the specifics and timelines for action, by which his success or failure can be measured, out of his big speech. Here are some critical questions Obama did not raise or answer in the address at the National Defense University. Guantanamo Bay timeline-Obama renewed his call for the closure of the Guantanamo Bay camp for terror suspects in Cuba. But he did not provide

Schools and police stations were burning in Stockholm as violent riots continued for a fifth consecutive night. Emergency services were called to 70 separate incidents, including two torched primary schools, burning shops and a destroyed library building also housing a local police unit. Despite police claiming that the situation is beginning to calm down, critics say the riots were unavoidable after years of widening social gaps in a country which has the highest proportion of foreign-born citizens in Scandinavia.

The lawyer picked Thursday to succeed Patrick Fitzgerald as Chicago´s U.S. attorney is a former federal prosecutor best known for taking on corrupt politicians and powerful institutions such as the University of Notre Dame. Zachary Fardon would take over an office that has made its mark nationally by putting crooked government officials behind bars but increasingly faces pressure to do more to help in the fight against Chicago´s violent street gangs. "Zachary Fardon will be unwavering in his commitment to justice, and I am confident he will serve the people of Illinois with excellence," President Barack Obama said

The Democratic National Committee is accusing the GOP of "making up so-called ´scandals´ out of thin air." In an email to supporters, DNC Spokesman Brad Woodhouse writes that Republicans´ accusations of scandal aren´t legitimate — a claim that´s sure to draw howls from the right."Getting in President Obama´s way has been the top priority for Republicans in Congress since day one. But now they´ve gone too far. They´ve been caught red-handed making up so-called ´scandals´ out of thin air to stir up false rumors of vast ´cover-ups´ happening in the White House," Woodhouse writes. "Did they find a single shred

Country singer Josh Gracin was in Washington on Thursday night to perform at the Ninth Annual Night of Heroes Gala, and as badly as he may have wanted to, he wasn’t allowed talk politics in an interview with The Hill.“I’m very political, almost to where I get in trouble with my record label not to post anything [on Facebook],” the former American Idol finalist said. Gracin’s handler quickly stepped in, nodding to the recording device in my hand and helpfully reminding him that he was on the record.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”
