| DALLAS — A representative for former U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison says the Texas Republican would not consider a position in President Barack Obama´s Cabinet. Hutchison served two decades in the Senate before deciding not to seek re-election last year. She was mentioned in one report as a possible successor to Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, also a Republican. Hutchison´s executive assistant, Melinda Poucher, said in an emailed statement Friday that Hutchison "would not consider a cabinet position of any kind."

The DOT along with the DOE are fine examples of how the government nickles and dimes the country to death with the literally hundreds of thousands of rules and regulations. Strangulation of the economy by governmental interference in just about everything to do with anything. Be enlightened and google Duties of the Secretary of Transportation. The reading will befuddle just about anyone. Bureaucratic political nonsense. They even have a line of succession for the major departments within the DOT. They have a regulation for literally any piece of hardware that has to do with transportation. Bolts and nuts and screws used in a locomotive? Yep, they are there. No wonder Hutchison didn´t want anything to do with it.

Obama would love to have a political channel into Texas, a State that will oppose strongly every one of his programs. Kay Bailey has considerable influence here no matter that she is leaving the Senate. I am very pleased that she is denying this access to the Kenyan.

The news isn´t Hutchison´s turning it down, the news is that she was considered for a job with the radical left. Not that it surprises me in her case. It´s nice confirmation that the entire political class knows establishment republicans blend in very nicely with the radical left.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday.
