| An earlier post today indicated shock at how rather…cheap the Obama Oval Office appeared in a recent photo. From the colors to the wall art to the what may very well be the worst drapes of any current national leader in the entire world. (They really are that bad) So let’s take a quick compare contrast of today’s Barack Obama Oval Office and compare it to some past presidents. Here is the photo of today’s Oval Office that caused many to remark at how badly the decorating was. Note the odd linoleum-looking table
|
Comments: Plastic-looking apples. And those awful couches - and the odd pinkish drapes. And the striped walls. Motel 6?
Alinsky said that ridicule was a great weapon. Isolate a target, etc., etc. Easy target here - and check out the photo of Barky. Problem is it is our White House he has debased.

The Republicans had far better taste and Obama´s is the worst. It looks like a middle class family room that has been abused by five children in the family.

We saw the photo of the family watching something (the Super Bowl?) in the upstairs room - Treaty Room? Chips and dip and soft drink cups and debris all over the furniture and the rug. There were early reports about his Chicago office - black carpet littered with peanut shells tossed there by Guess Who....
Ghetto.

I think the stripes give it a circus tent vibe.
The first photo made Obama look like a pimp.
The oval office now looks like a perfect place to chill, smoke some weed, and do a few lines of nose candy.

It´s like something you would expect if the Beverly Hillbillies moved into the White House. Crappy taste from a Crappy pResident. The carpet is probably full of fingernail clippings also. Yuk.

It´s only missing a couple of fine touches, like crossed spears on the wall behind rhino skin shields. Maybe a lion skin in front of the fireplace and a life-size wooden statue of Duh One beside the window with a couple of little bones dangling from his ears.
Yeah, I´m a racist now, so what?

A long time ago there was a product called Z-Brick. Anybody remember that? That´s what that horrible coffee table in the photo looks like. Also, and maybe I´m just seeing it wrong, but the pictures on each side of the desk, one a painting and one a picture of the arm of the Statue of Liberty (I think) only seem to appear in the offices of obama and Clinton. Whatever, it´s dreadful and looks quite dirty.

Why has it become correct to make our formerly "nice´ things junky? Those other photos of the Oval office show it tobe a very lovely, warm, hospitable room. Obama has turned it into a sitting room for homeless person and done on a small budget. Why? What is the purpose of making a nice place dumpy? You don´t supose they want it to look like a place where no self-respecting white guy would show up? Sorry...that´s what it looks like. Our fraternity house (60 years ago) looked better than that.

California should abandon its current tax system and charge everyone the same rate. That’s the proposal made by famed economist Arthur Laffer in a report released Thursday that is highly critical of California’s business climate. Laffer,(Snip) said in an interview that moving to a flat tax rate of about 6.5 percent would reduce complexity over the tax system and free up money for businesses to invest. He also said the rate would be revenue-neutral at full employment, meaning the state would collect the same revenue as it does under the current system. Otherwise, under our current progressive system

Joe Biden spoke last night in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month. Biden has long, deep ties to the Jewish community — Obama actually picked him in 2008 in part to reassure skittish Jewish Democrats. Biden indeed offered fulsome, heartfelt praise in his remarks, before wandering into highly uncomfortable terrain and delivering a speech that is likely to be quoted by anti-Semites for years and decades to come. (It’s already the subject of excited discussion among the white supremacist community.)

Grief and politics don´t mix. When raw, aching grief and the dirtiest kind of politics meet, a hot volcano of pain and outrage erupts that is unstoppable. But it is necessary.(Snip)before Benghazi, there was Extortion 17, the call sign of a special operations mission in Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011. Three months after the strike on Osama bin Laden, 30 Americans -- including 15 from the bin Laden strike-team unit, Navy SEAL Team 6, and two other SEALs -- were killed in the costliest single-day loss for the U.S. military in the Afghanistan war, and the largest SEAL loss

A faulty steering apparatus may bring an early end to NASA’s Kepler space telescope, a $600 million tool in the space agency’s quest for life elsewhere in the universe. Kepler is the first NASA mission capable of finding Earth-size planets in or near the habitable zone, the range of distance from a star where the surface temperature of an orbiting planet might be suitable for liquid water. Launched in 2009, it has discovered thousands of such planets, including a pair just 1,200 light years away.(Snip) But yesterday, Kepler’s mission ran into trouble.

The Internal Revenue Service last year supplied a left-leaning nonprofit charity with confidential information about conservative organizations, which the charity disseminated to the public, ProPublica reported yesterday. The charity in question was ProPublica itself. We should acknowledge that "left-leaning" is our characterization; ProPublica describes itself in its own tax filings as "entirely non-partisan and non-ideological." ProPublica is legally obliged to be nonpartisan, for it enjoys tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which means that contributions to it are tax-deductible.

If it is proven that the IRS thwarted some groups from obtaining tax-exempt status in fear that their traditional or conservative messages might hurt the 2012 Obama campaign (especially if it did so under pressure from White House-affiliated operatives), and if it is proven that the Obama administration deliberately ignored warnings about lax security at the Benghazi consulate, missed real opportunities to send help, or deliberately massaged intelligence reports in order to mislead the pre-election public about the true nature of Benghazi in order to further a false campaign narrative of a near dormant al-Qaeda

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
