| Former Gov. Ed Rendell, D-Pa., found a silver lining in the shooting in Newtown, Conn., by observing that the tragedy has strengthened the gun control movement. “The good thing about Newtown is [that] it was so horrific that I think it galvanized Americans to a point where the intensity on our side is going to match the intensity on their side,” Rendell, one of Hillary Clinton’s most loyal allies, said on MSNBC today. Rendell has pushed for gun control apropos of shootings before, although he apologized at the time. “What the Congress ought to do,

Something smells regarding the information out of Newtown. Can anyone say with CERTAINTY what weapons were used in the killings? I have seen mentions of two hand guns and an AR-15 in the car. Other reports say he used the AR-15. HOW much information is being withheld/buried to further the agenda? Time for more answers out of Newtown. Also, I have heard the mother of the shooter disparaged for being careless with her guns. I would like to know if she kept them in a gun safe..it is possible she had a safe with fingerprint recognition..the crazy guy could have cut off her finger..so would that be careless? There is too much we do not know. Is it too much to ask for a report from LAW enforcement? After all, there is to be no trial..so put the information OUT.

Hey Low Info Connecticut Voter, do you get it? Your dead children are just Democrats props! The party of hypocrisy is dancing, singing and jumping for joy at your tragedy and misfortune. Because you can help them again. Your pain, their gain. That´s what they call a win-win.

Think bloodshed is "good" because it will "galvanize" people?
These people are filth. They have no idea what sort of "galvanized" reaction they will reap if they are permitted to turn law abiding citizens into felons at the swipe of a pen.
They have no idea.

To our chagrin, Rendell is correct. We need to learn from this when dealing with matters like the fiscal cliff, debt ceiling, CRs, and sequestration. Shrunken paychecks, rising tax bills, and missing government checks also have a galvanizing effect.

This is what obama was trying to do in Mexico with the thousands of weapons he sold to the Mexican drug cartels. Over 300 men, women and children were murdered because of obama and the democrats.
16 school children were killed.
obama wants hundreds and hundreds of people murdered by those guns he provided.
See his votes on killing children born, his vote on not allowing you to defend yourself in your own home. His comments on killing elderly people as they have lived too long.
obama and the democrats want millions of people killed as they are being murdered by way of being on a death list like Britain has. They have 60,000 on a death list right now!!
obama is the face of a mass murdering cult called the democratic party.

There they go again, standing on the bodies of the Newtown Childern who were massacred, to make a political point.
To reduce gun violence, limit gun ownership to folks who vote Republican.

We wouldn´t be having this wave of copy-cat killing if it weren´t for the media. It´s time to reign in the media and start controlling what they are allowed to report. Abolish the 1st amendment. Do it for the kids. If it saved just one life...
Why does anybody need to know that some wacko is killing people. I just breeds more killing.

Those who deal with the mentally ill have been saying for years that it is too difficult to get them into treatment because the standard has been that threat of violence must be ´imminent´. It has been an uphill battle against those who don´t want to interfere with the ´rights´ of mentally people to remain psychotic.
It is a tragedy that 20 small children had to die before the nation would listen.

The Indiana attorney general’s office confirmed Monday it is investigating a security breach in which Social Security numbers and other personal information were posted online for roughly 44,000 low-income Americans who applied for a federal program that provides discount Internet and phone service. The program was nicknamed the “Obamaphone” during the 2012 election, though it actually started long before President Obama took office. Indiana reportedly has the highest number of applicants, roughly 17,400, who were signed up by TerraCom Inc. and the affiliated YourTel America Inc. Applicants from at least 26 states were exposed to the security breach,

WASHINGTON- Apple Inc. has used an elaborate web of offshore subsidiaries to avoid paying billions of dollars in U.S. taxes on $44 billion in foreign income over the past four years, a Senate investigation has found. Many of the tactics, such as cost-sharing arrangements, are common among large multinational corporations seeking to shift profits to countries with lower tax rates. The investigation did not find Apple violated any laws. But three of its subsidiaries in Ireland claim to have no responsibility to pay income taxes to any country, according to a 40-page, bipartisan report released Monday

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place. According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn´t to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect." ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington.

CINCINNATI- Few workers know the IRS Cincinnati office better than Bonnie Esrig, who worked there for 24 years. She retired from her job as a senior manager in January. Esrig said she did not recall any discussion of politics in the office. "Politics and religion were things people generally didn´t talk about at work," she said. Esrig did not work on political cases and was not connected to the applications at the center of the controversy. But she worked in the same office where fewer than 200 people were dealing with 73,000 applications for exemptions last year.

On her blog this afternoon, Fox News’ On the Record host Greta Van Susteren wrote that the Department of Justice should feel “lucky” they did not hack into her emails like they did with her colleague James Rosen several years ago. While that sounds like a veiled threat against the DOJ, Van Susteren was actually making a joke about how her personal email account mostly contains correspondence and information regarding her sick dog named Audrey: Had Justice hacked into my personal email account this weekend, they would have had to sort through all the emails from the vet

U.S. Sen. John McCain bucked the party line coming from many of his fellow conservatives this morning, saying suggestions that compare the trio of scandals gripping the White House to Watergate are “overreaching.” “I think it’s overreaching. We need a full and complete investigation and then we will decide the dimensions of it,” said McCain while campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez in Dorchester. “It is terrible but we have to have a full investigation before we leap to conclusions.” The maverick’s caution is a sharp contrast to the response of many Republicans

Amid the political boiling oil of three simultaneous scandals, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney continued Monday to defend the Obama administration´s handling of troubles involving the Departments of Justice, Treasury and State. In a hearing that started 45 minutes late after a one-hour announced delay, Carney said that ´no one in this building intervened in an ongoing, independent investigation´ by the IRS Office of Inspector General, which was examining ´Nine IRS employees´ who were targeting conservative groups for special scrutiny. ´We did not have a copy of the draft report´ before it was leaked to media outlets

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

WASHINGTON – White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans. Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false. "And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans
