| Matthew Continetti writes at the Washington Free Beacon about the formation of an incredibly powerful lobbying group, composed of organizations that boast millions of political foot soldiers, with a total income measured in the billions of dollars. It plans to spend tens of millions of dollars pushing a rigid ideological agenda. It’s a textbook example of everything we are constantly told is “wrong” with Washington, a combination of big money, political self-interest, political influence, and secrecy. But you’ve never heard about it before, for exactly one reason: it’s a liberal group, the “Democracy Initiative.”

Money, big, big money wuch as this group can raise, is so powerful. I feel overwhelmed just reading this article. How can we fight them?

When the Greenies and the Lefties destroy capitalism, where will tax money be found? Not to mention the retirement programs of the NEA members(and other workers) who love the Leftist philosophy, but depend upon business to keep the retirement programs afloat.

The huge conspiracy is how the left uses OUR MONEY to get power and then influence govt. Look at where they have totally infested and taken over ... Schools (Unions) and Universities, Govt at all levels, Agencies of Govt., freebee crony organizations etc.
Each of those has great influence on our governance...right out of the Marxist playbook!
Our job, once we get power back is to totally destroy their ability to do this.
Outlaw all Unions, force political Parity at Universities or loose all govt. funding, and greatest of all ravage/destroy their ability to influence govt. by getting rid of the freeloaders inthe 501C´s.

Hey, guys, to answer your question: hitler/lenin/stalin/mao/kim-il-whoever/mugabe/pol_pot/chavez (continue the list on your own) always have (had) enough money for whatever wars/death_camps/massacre they were doing! My answer as to why? Because they (aforementioned) are (were) sick sadists and there are enough willing henchmen to do the blood letting. Just ask them to do it! Gangsters always find enough enforcers. And here it is sanctioned by the state and is absolutely legal. How do you think they managed to execute 25% of the people in Cambodia (wikipedia is the source for the number)? They had willing participants. Same was in Russia, just the percentage was a little bit smaller.

The only way we can fight this is for US to be willing to do the work and be the foot soldiers for our cause: Freedom. We have money too. We just need to ORGANIZE quietly, plan and plot too. But most of us just sit back and expect others to do it for us.

I have been wathing this grow my whole life. The shaming of Joe McCarthy, the dumbing down of our schools, the eradication of our national heritage in our schools, the gay rights, the pro-abortionists, the idiotic liberal court decisions, the "equal rights" or affirmative action racism, the open assault on Christianity and God in general, the constant assault on our Constitution- it has always added up to one great huge conspiracy to destroy this nation. But, who could believe that? Not in America! Well, there it is- now, we know what has been going on- But, again, who could believe it would turn out this way. Well, believe it. It´s here, it´s real and it´s coming at us like a speeding freight train for everyone to see.

New emails between Internal Revenue Service officials released Wednesday as part of congressional testimony give a better view of who knew of the screening of conservative tea party groups and the search terms being used, and when they knew it. The documents also show a bit of the process the IRS used in such situations, but do not answer the question at the heart of the controversy – who made the decision to search for such groups and why. The string of emails is from early June 2011, sparked by a request from Holly Paz,

WASHINGTON — As they watched President Obama lumber into controversy over mandating contraception coverage last winter, some White House staffers were banging their heads against the wall. The lawyers had done it again. Tensions between operatives and the lawyers hired to protect them from legal trouble are a constant in politics. But as President Obama’s beleaguered aides look for someone to blame in an escalating series of scandals, former political, communications, and policy officials complained to BuzzFeed that one culprit is a balance that has tilted too far toward the lawyer, allowing avoidable controversies to boil over.

With Anthony Weiner about to pop into the race for mayor, one of his Democratic rivals demanded yesterday that he pony up $350,000 for the cost of the election required to fill his hastily vacated congressional seat two years ago. Weiner resigned under pressure in June 2011 after it was disclosed he was tweeting lewd pictures of himself to women he’d met on the Internet. In the special election held that September to replace him, Republican Bob Turner pulled off a stunning upset victory over Democrat David Weprin. Taxpayers were stuck with the $350,000 election tab,

After a week of revelations about government spying on reporters and the Internal Revenue Service targeting conservatives, most voters feel “like the federal government has gotten out of control and is threatening the basic civil liberties of Americans.” At the same time, a new Fox News poll finds disapproval of President Obama’s job performance is above 50 percent for the first time in a year, his honesty rating is at a new low and half of voters already think he’s a lame-duck.

The New York Times editorial board has condemned the Obama administration for threatening press freedom in the wake of revelations that the Justice Dept. seized phone records belonging to Fox News reporter James Rosen. "With the decision to label a Fox News television reporter a possible ´co-conspirator´ in a criminal investigation of a news leak, the Obama administration has moved beyond protecting government secrets to threatening fundamental freedoms of the press to gather news," the board wrote in an editorial published on Wednesday. Noting past Obama administration intrustions into press freedom, including the Justice Dept.´s

From the outset, Internal Revenue Service lawyers based in Washington, D.C., provided important guidance on the handling of tea-party groups’ applications for tax-exempt status, according to both IRS sources and the inspector general’s report released in mid May. Officials in the Technical Unit of the IRS’s Rulings and Agreements office played an integral role in determining how the targeted applications were treated, provided general guidelines to Cincinnati case workers, briefed other agency employees on the status of the special cases, and reviewed all those intrusive requests demanding “more information” from tea-party groups.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state
