I´m British and Piers Morgan
is Damn Wrong

American Thinker, by Adam Shaw

Many Americans, since the Sandy Hook massacre, have been disgusted by Piers Morgan´s snooty condescension toward their great country, and his blatant disregard for the Second Amendment.(snip)I can say with confidence that Piers is being either intellectually dishonest, or downright ignorant, if he believes that the USA should imitate the diabolical disaster that has been British gun control. The first thing to be observed is that his very usage of Britain as an example for the U.S. to follow is proof that his claim only to want to ban certain assault weapons like the AR-15 is an outrageous lie

IMHO this one kinda goes with the article written by the Russian from yesterday´s must reads.

We should listen to the experience of others who have "lived it". And not those parading around with privileges and means to remain "above the system".

This impacts the man on the street more so than any entitled, political, wealthy, Hollywood/Entertainer type class.

We should remember that.

Violent crimes in Great Britain = 2051 per 100,000.
Violent crimes in the USA = 466 per 100,000.

End of story.

Hey, Morgan. Why don´t you leave this hell-hole of a country and go back to the paradise you came from?

Let´s face it. CNN´s Piers Morgan is simply one of those "limeys" who has never forgiven America for what happened in 1776.

We all knew that Piers Morgan was a snooty, pompous, self-pretentious ax.
But Adam Shaw shows him to be dishonest and duplicitous as well.

Piers Morgan is only trying to boost his pathetic ratings.
I suggest he stick the Magna Carta where the sun don´t shine, and the rest of us ignore this inconsequential creature.

Lets face it. Piers Morgan is on the take, or his job is on the line for it. He hates our way of life then he should go back to the UK if its so good over there.

The UN ranked the US eighth in overall violent crime rates in industrialized nations, lower than almost all of Europe. In that same report it was noted that the fastest growing violent crime in Britain was home invasion, armed robbery while the homeowners are present. The reason for this particular crime upsurge is one of those always discounted unintended consequences.

Apparently in britain in order to get home owners insurance you must install a burglar alarm.

The burglars now know two things, when you are home your burglar alarm will not go off and you will have nothing more than the fireplace poker to defend yourself with. Very easy pickings for a thug with a gun (Something which is apparently as difficult to get in London as Fish and Chips).

Does anyone think home invasions in the US would skyrocket if Insurance required a burglar alarm? I rather doubt it, exept in Putnam and Westchester counties where the burglar simply needs to look in the newspaper to get the address of a safe B&E victim.

Watch Britain (and all of Europe) try and cope with their suddenly appearing gang problems. The Middle easterners control the drug trade, and they are getting more and more violent.

The gun free utopian paradise that is Britain and the EU may well start competing with the US as cartels of drug smugglers start fighting over Manchesters corners.

I neither care what Piers Morgan thinks about anything, nor what anybody thinks about Piers Morgan.

That´s a kind of symmetry I find both appealing and useful.

Obama is Bursting the Left´s Bubbles

Early 2014 will be viewed historically as the period when most of the American left’s bubbles detached themselves completely from reality and wafted off to Unicornland. (snip)left-wing intellectual bubbles have been cold, desolate places since the Reagan era. With the catastrophe of the Great Society, the undeniable success of Reaganism, and at last the collapse of the USSR, leftist illusions were shattered, leaving little but blasted dreams and bitterness, expressed as PC and related programs that amounted to little more than gestures of revenge. Then came Obama, who brought it all back to life again.

CNN reporter Jeanne Moos sparked outrage in New Zealand and Australia for her coverage of the visit of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge to New Zealand, for mocking the dress and customs of the Maori people who greeted the royals. It is almost inconceivable that a CNN reporter would mock the traditions of Native Americans, blacks, or other domestic minorities (and that editors would air such a report), but take them outside of their zone of PC awareness, and the inherent attitudes disguised at home come shining through.

In their excellent book, The Year Without Summer: 1816 and the Volcano That Darkened the World and Changed History, William and Nicholas Klingaman relate the history, causes, and effects of the record cold that gripped the northern hemisphere in 1816. (snip) The winter of 2013-14 bears a striking resemblance to that of 1815-16, and there is every reason to believe that what follows will repeat the pattern of earlier periods of extreme cold. The consequences will not be pleasant. As some have begun to realize, periods of extreme cold are far more destructive than periods of warming. My prediction of a

It’s going to be an unsettling day for the Ruling Class in Washington, DC. One of the little tricks that keeps the Beltway media-special interest alliance prosperously spinning along has been exposed to the light of day by Washington Post blogger Eric Wemple. In a long piece devoted to Politico’s Mike Allen, Wemple chronicles the confluence of advertising and journalism via what a practice called “native advertising,” inserting material that looks like it could be an ordinary item written by a journalist, but which actually is paid advertising. Wemple describes native advertising as “the tricks that publishers deploy to elide

As the labor movement tells the story, two months ago, the silly, ungrateful Volkswagen factory workers in Tennessee foolishly rejected the generous invitation of the company and the United Auto Workers to welcome the Detroit-killing union with open arms. In an election supervised by the federal National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the workers in VW´s Chattanooga plant rejected UAW representation by a vote of 712 to 626. Amazingly, the UAW and the automaker both refuse to take the workers´ "no" for an answer. The two sides are acting in unison to overturn the democratically expressed will of the workers. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey.
