For Americans Under 50,
Stark Findings on Health

New York Times, by Sabrina Tavernise

Younger Americans die earlier and live in poorer health than their counterparts in other developed countries, with far higher rates of death from guns, car accidents and drug addiction, according to a new analysis of health and longevity in the United States. Researchers have known for some time that the United States fares poorly in comparison with other rich countries, a trend established in the 1980s. But most studies have focused on older ages, when the majority of people die. The findings were stark. Deaths before age 50 accounted for about two-thirds of the difference in life expectancy between

It´d be interesting to see the demographic breakdown of those dying from violence, etc... before age 50, and then compare to countries like Japan, Canada, etc..

Illegitimacy is no doubt a major factor in this, but it will be ignored because recognizing it doesn´t fit the agenda.

And though suicide rates were lower in the United States, firearm suicide rates were six times higher.

I´d love to see the stats with all the violence & car crashes involving illegals shown separately. In Houston it would make quite a difference I am sure.

Gee, you don´t think the fact that the nanny State doesn´t allow them to live has anything to do with it, do you? These poor kids can´t enjoy playgrounds because they might get hurt. Or enjoy soda pops and other foods cause they might get fat. Or smoke or drink or do anything. So they try risky behavior after getting too old for the Nanny State to control, they eat what is allowed in excess and they turn to drugs. sometimes, the Nanny State cure causes the disease.

Relax, It´s the New York Times. That rag hasn´t been pertinant for about the last 20 years. Those that work there-in are much more akin to their counterparts at Pravda than anywhere else. What they write is irrelivant to todays tech media because with the simple push of a few keyboard keys, they can be exposed for the patent liars they are.

Good Luck Being Unemployed Under Obama

Thirty-six weeks. That´s the average time an unemployed American is out of work in the Obama-led economy, according to the latest government data. For anyone who has been jobless for an extended duration of time, nine months seems like an eternity. But, nine months is the norm in the Obama economy. The latest data from the Department of Labor show the nation´s unemployment rate stands at 7.5%. The Obama Administration and Obama backers are quick to point out that this rate is the lowest of his presidency. However, the deeper we dig into the state of the unemployed under Obama,

Now that the low-information/low-knowledge segment of the country is waking up to what conservatives have been pointing out since Barack Obama was first sanctified by the left, we are being treated to the spectacle of a liberal epiphany. How, they ask themselves, could this have happened? How could they have been suckered so completely? After all, liberals/progressives tell us all the time, they are a superior manifestation of the species. They are always right, and their political opponents are always bad people, motivated by ignorance and stupidity at best, and impure designs at least.

RUSH: Now, I mentioned at the last segment right before the top of the hour that the IRS was asking religious groups for the content of their prayers prior to granting them tax-exempt status -- and, in some cases, not granting it. It came out during the Ways and Means Committee hearing on the IRS scandal. The acting IRS commissioner, Steven Miller, who´s leaving, was testifying. Congressman Aaron Schock, a Republican from Illinois, had a question for him.

RUSH: Folks, we are being told that Lois Lerner´s seemingly out-of-the-blue admission about the IRS tax-exempt waivers was carefully planned. The question that evoked her admission was planted as part of prepared strategy for the IRS to release this information to the public, and that´s according to the outgoing IRS commissioner, Steven Miller. He said it in testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee this morning.

RUSH: I am getting the sense that there is an effervescing rage in the country over what is happening. If you´re watching these hearings today, if you are listening to the media, I hate to say, "I told you so," but the media is circling the wagons around the regime. It was just yesterday and the day before that people eagerly called here and were sending me e-mails, thinking this was it. "The media is finally going to turn on Obama!" I said, "It´s never going to happen, not for real,"

Speaking at Ohio State University this month, Barack Obama urged students to pay no attention to those paranoid types who "incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity." Oddly enough, in recent days the most compelling testimony for this view of government has come from the president himself, who insists, with a straight face, that he had no idea that the Internal Revenue Service had spent two years targeting his political enemies until he "learned about it from the same news reports that I think most people learned about this."

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

On Thursday´s NBC Today, in a desperate attempt to deflect from the scandals engulfing the Obama administration, co-host Savannah Guthrie wondered: "I read a headline yesterday that said Republicans see blood in the water. That they see a president who´s very vulnerable politically. Is there a danger that they will overreach?" Chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd agreed with the slanted premise: "There is. I mean, that´s what happened to Republicans in 1998 with Bill Clinton.

President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event. So what did we learn? 1. He has full confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who purportedly recused himself (whenever) without putting it in writing (whatever). When asked about the untrammeled snooping on Associated Press reporters and editors,

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,
