| Two Dallas-area buildings once occupied by presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald met opposite fates this week. While Irving made a move to restore the home where Oswald spent the night before assassinating John F. Kennedy, Dallas announced that it would demolish the now-derelict apartment complex where Oswald lived with his wife shortly before the murder. Irving Home: 2515 West 5th-Back in December, the Dallas Morning News reported that the city of Irving had purchased the home where Oswald stayed on November 21, 1963 (pictured above). In the sixties, the home belonged to Ruth Paine, a housewife and

The preservation of the homes of infamous persons has never made much sense to me? Why use taxpayer money to create a shrine for the morbid amongst us?

Any home of anyone who assassinated a President - no matter who the President was - should be turned into an open air toilet, with everyone being given the opportunity to do as degrading things as they want to the assassin´s likeness - not preserved.

Don´t think everybody agrees that Oswald killed Kennedy.
Back then, a lot of big, diverse powerful players wanted him to be gone.

Well, for now anyway, Oswald is the guy, the one who assassinated Kennedy. There is no earthly reason to memorialize him by preserving his home as a museum.
Next they´ll be doing the same with the guy who shot up the U of Texas, the Aurora theater, and the school in Newtown.
And on and on and on.

#3, agreed.
Over the decades, we´ve learned much more. And Oswald himself pointed out he was just a patsy; said he did not shoot anyone.
Hoover and Johnson were both to be replaced. Kennedy was dumping Johnson for 1964. Hoover was to be fired in second term. Neither of them had any use for JFK or Bobby. Hoover blackmailed JFK to put LBJ onto the ticket in 1960; he had two decades of sex tapes on JFK.
The aborted attempt to kill JFK in Miami the weekend before -- was simply moved to Texas.
JFK´s speaking engagement in Miami on Monday, November 18, 1963 included a motorcade which was canceled due to the assassination plot there.
Shooters from the Florida aborted attempt then drove to Texas for the next assassination attempt planned for Dallas.
The shooters while in Louisiana picked up a woman on the road. Told her the plot they were in on. Then they kicked her out of the car (oddly).
She was taken in by troopers when found, and taken to a mental hospital. She told everybody what the shooters said. She was not believed. This was Thursday, November 21, 1963. Documented and in the Warren Report.
Hoover and LBJ covered up the plot. And Oswald, who was never supposed to be taken alive, had to be silenced.
Once the "lone suspect" was dead... case closed; no trial.
The limousine was destroyed (evidence). The president´s brain disappeared from National Archives. Original JFK autopsy notes were burned.
LBJ insisted that the Warren whitewash be published by September 1964. Before the election.
As a former Democrat, I´ve come to accept the reality. Facts are facts. Face reality.

So Oswald spent a night there. Big whoop. I can´t imagine anyone who would visit that museum unless as stated above, they were morbid.
I even read somewhere that there was something attached to the dashboard of the presidential limo that fired a shot(s) at Kennedy. See what happens when the gooberment doesn´t put out the truth. We have to draw our own conclusions.

How about John Wilkes Booth´s hose, or places where he stayed? Should they be torn down too? A couple of Jessie James´ houses are preserved, as is Tiburdeo Vasquez´ family home. None of these guys were "Good Guys" but places they stayed are preserved for historic reasons.

The US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Ronald C. Machen - the man responsible for the aggressive surveillance and phone record scrutiny at Fox News - is also a big donor to the Obama Campaigns. At the time of his appointment, the Washington Post wrote a profile on Machen including this tidbit: Over the years, he has donated $4,350 to Obama´s campaigns. He gave $250 to Obama´s U.S. Senate campaign in 2003, a year before Obama, then an Illinois state senator, emerged on the nation´s political radar, according to campaign finance records.

On May 14, the House Ways and Means Committee demanded the IRS turn over documents and answer questions related to the targeting of conservative groups. The letter was signed by the Chairman David Camp and ranking member Sander Levin of the Committee. The deadline for compliance was May 21. According to House Ways and Means Spokeswoman Sarah Swinehart, "The Committee has not received a response to the Camp-Levin letter." "Chairman Camp expects the IRS to comply and provide full and complete responses to the letter since many of these questions were asked, but went unanswered, in Friday’s hearing,"

Federal investigators apparently accessed records of calls to and from a phone number at Fox News Channel in their leak investigation of a former State Department contractor, according to a court document. News of the government´s search of Fox News phone records comes after controversy broke out last week over a separate leak investigation in which prosecutors seized the call details of roughly 20 phone numbers of reporters and editors at the Associated Press. Former government contractor Stephen Kim has been charged in federal court with leaking an intelligence report about North Korea in 2009

Vice President Joe Biden ribbed President Obama over his teleprompter use at a Jewish American Heritage Month reception in New York City on Tuesday.Biden asked that the teleprompter in the room be taken down before his address, according to the pool report. “You can’t tell Barack that the teleprompter’s down,” Biden said. “The standing joke in the office is Barack’s learning to speak without a teleprompter, I’m learning to speak with one. I apologize for the teleprompter.” Republicans have long criticized President Obama for his reliance on a teleprompter, often needling him for reading from prepared remarks rather than

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? U.S. Sen. John McCain bucked the party line coming from many of his fellow conservatives this morning, saying suggestions that compare the trio of scandals gripping the White House to Watergate are “overreaching.” “I think it’s overreaching. We need a full and complete investigation and then we will decide the dimensions of it,” said McCain while campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez in Dorchester. “It is terrible but we have to have a full investigation before we leap to conclusions.” The maverick’s caution is a sharp contrast to the response of many Republicans
