| The Morning Joe family got heated and a bit awkward this morning during a discussion about the lack of diversity in President Obama‘s inner circle. As Joe Scarborough pointed to the lack of outrage and the Republican/Democrat double standard, Mika Brzezinski vehemently disagreed — and told him he was being “chauvinistic.” Scarborough… didn’t take it well. At one point literally snapping his fingers at his co-host. The issue of diversity took up the entire segment, but started to grow contentious when the BBC’s Katty Kay sought to downplay the lack of diversity

I can´t stand Joe "someone died mysteriously so I resigned" Scarborough, but it must be tough to work with a complete airhead like Mika. If you listened to her for a month, you could completely rewrite the book on blond jokes.

A Navy dolphin training to look for mines off the coast of San Diego found a museum-worthy 19th-century torpedo on the seafloor, military officials said. The brass-coated, retro wonder of technology was one of the first self-propelled torpedoes used by the U.S. Navy. Just 50 of these so-called Howell torpedoes were made and only one other example has been recovered; it sits in the Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport, Wash., outside of Seattle.The 130-year-old, 11-foot-long weapon was discovered back in March during a mine-hunting exercise that the Space and Naval warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) was conducting with bottlenose dolphins.

WASHINGTON - Ten young scholars have made it to the finals of the National Geographic Bee, where they´ll compete for a $25,000 college scholarship. The preliminary rounds of the national competition were held Monday, narrowing the field of 54 state-level winners to the final 10. The field for Wednesday´s finals includes one repeat participant, 14-year-old Neelam Sandhu of Bedford, N.H. Asha Jain of Minocqua, Wis., the younger sister of last year´s runner-up, also made the finals. Other states represented will be California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Oregon and Virginia. The participants range in age from 11 to 14.

The Department of Defense confirms to NBC 5 Investigates that accused Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan has now been paid more than $278,000 since the Nov. 5, 2009 shooting that left 13 dead 32 injured. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
