1st Vs. 2nd Amendment: What public service is performed when newspapers and websites tell criminals where prison guards and retired cops live, and endanger the lives of people who´ve never had so much as a parking ticket? When the editors of the Journal News, a local upstate New York paper, published a mappable database of every licensed gun owner in Westchester and Rockland counties, north of New York City, they thought they were performing a public service after the Sandy Hook shootings. After all, they were warning residents who in their neighborhoods had a gun and

What is so crazy about this whole gun control "debate" (The left doesn´t want to hear from us. They´re to busy diddling each other.) is that they have no plan at all to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

Any day now, many of us will not be law abiding citizens. I will consider that a badge of honor since our enemy is our own outlaw government. When the government has no respect for the law, it is meaningless.

Boycott the Journal News, their advertisers and other Ganett publications and their advertisers.

Let us ignore the gang member who has a gun. Let us ignore the drug addict who will use a gun to obtain his drug of choice. Let us ignore all of those people and concentrate upon those who obey the law, drive the speed limit, pay their taxes, and help out around the community. Let us disarm them for the criminal poses no threat to our desire to rule the world.

The larger the population grows, the more nuts there are.
How many laws are they going to pass only to be ignored by the nuts?
Pass 1,000 new laws, and the massacres will still happen, especially if the Law Abiding citizens have no protection.
What would have happened at Ft. Hood if everyone was carrying their sidearms?
Do policemen remove their guns when they enter the police station?

Who would be to blame if someone that wants to rob a house thinking the person doesn´t have a gun, and finds out oops they did, gets killed. They should sue the newspaper that printed the names and addresses.

Reply 14 - Posted by: Judith, 1/9/2013 10:36:11 PM     (No. 9108130)

Present day, up here in MA, women are terrified to wear fur coats. The animal terrorists have won. I´m assuming next on the list will be gun owners.
Until then, I will enjoy visiting Bass Pro Shop and seeing people from MA buying guns and ammunition. They are a rare and endangered species.

Reply 15 - Posted by: Topic Thunder, 1/9/2013 10:39:42 PM     (No. 9108134)

I think "The Journal" should immediately file for bankruptcy and close up shop. They´re already finished.

They´re sitting on thousands of potential litigants and the moment anything happens at one of those addresses or even the ones they didn´t print, anything at all, a break-in, an assault, even a murder, they are going to be SUED.

Every single soul in those counties has a case against the paper for reckless endangerment or any other charge you can think of.

Two men who allegedly slaughtered a soldier in a Woolwich street were known to security services, it emerged today. David Cameron revealed that authorities were looking into what was already known about Drummer Lee Rigby´s alleged killers, but it is not thought they were considered to be an immediate threat. One of the men, believed to be Michael Adebolajo, is believed to have been arrested after he went to Somalia to join banned Islamist group al Ahabaab. Eyewitness Jamie France, 29, said that his mother had seen Adebolajo preaching as recently as last week. He said:

Radical preacher Anjem Choudary has blamed the terrorist murder in Woolwich on David Cameron and Britain´s actions in Afghanistan. Choudary, who grew up in Woolwich, was responded to reports that the alleged beheading was perpetrated by Islamic terrorists shouting "Allah u Akbar" - God is great. In response to the news, Choudary tweeted: "National News tell me that the man killed in woolwich is apparently being treated as "terrorist" as the attackers were shouting Allahu Akbar. "If they were Muslims killing a British soldier then the presence of British troops in Muslim land [Afghanistan] is surely a cause of insecurity in the UK."

A MAN seen ranting at a video camera moments after a soldier was beheaded in the street is Muslim convert Michael Adebolajo - who was known to MI5. Michael Adebolaj, 28, had reportedly been looked at during probes into extremism in recent years - and was also known to hate preachers Anjem Choudary and Omar Bakri. Tonight the soldier was named as Drummer Lee Rigby, 25, from the 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Meanwhile a man and woman, both 29, were today arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder in relation to the terror attack.

The IRS official who oversaw the unit responsible for the targeting of conservative groups has been placed on administrative leave, Fox News confirms, a day after she refused to testify at a congressional hearing. Capitol Hill sources said Lois Lerner, the director of exempt organizations, was placed on leave. It comes amid calls from some lawmakers for her to be suspended or fired. Lerner, the official who first acknowledged the controversial IRS practice earlier this month, asserted her innocence at a House hearing on Wednesday. She then refused to testify, citing her Fifth Amendment right not to answer questions.

One of those areas that I have been -- I don´t know if "warning" is correct, but at least I´ve been -- highlighting, is the phenomenon of social media. The senior Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee said President Obama´s national security speech will be "viewed by terrorists as a victory." Sen. Saxby Chambliss (Ga.) made the remarks in a statement released moments after Obama´s speech. He focused his criticism on Obama´s plans to move toward closing the Guantanamo Bay detainee camp. "We knew five years ago that closing Guantanamo was a bad idea and would not work," Chambliss said. "Yet, today’s speech sends the message to Guantanamo detainees that if they harass the dedicated military personnel there enough, we will give in and send them

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
