Hillary Clinton Rules Out ´Retirement´
Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Though she´s expected to leave her post at the State Department soon, Hillary Clinton today said she´s not going into "retirement." Clinton returned to work yesterday after missing almost a month, according to the State Department, due to ill health. Here´s Clinton´s exchange with a reporter, which she had today in Washington: QUESTION: So things – you’re ready – you’re back in the swing of things - SECRETARY CLINTON: I am back -- QUESTION: -- even though it’s closing down your operation? SECRETARY CLINTON: Yeah. It’s obviously somewhat bittersweet, because I’ve had the most extraordinary experience,

Comments:
She´s running in 2016.

You really have to question her health-even her physical health-when she rules out retirement.

The Clintons are like the Kennedys, they never leave the party. At least the Hilldabeast only had one spawn, so in these sad times, that is a blessing.

When Hillary misses a month of work, is her pay docked? Mine is by my employer.

Two years from now the complicit media will be heavily downplaying her recent (and alleged) medical problems.
You´ll be a woman-hater for even mentioning it.

Mark my words.

Oh, do be quiet, Hillary. Not all of us are in awe of you. Your achievements don’t “dazzle” nor are they noteworthy.

For the record, I am younger than Hillary but I don’t believe the verdantheart would pass out and bonk her head in solitary confinement as seems to be the case with Hillary. That is embarrassing, and no Southern gal would announce it to the world, frankly.

Also for the record, as it turns out, while Hillary was dealing with her blood clot I was sick with the flu. But I had excellent medical care. We’d agreed to host our 5-year-old grandson, and I try always to keep my word. Well, the little tyke knew I was sick and got out his “doctor kit.” And when he was done, I felt better! To borrow from Dave Barry, I am not making this up. Maybe it’s the placebo effect (hubby’s theory) or maybe it is touch or maybe it’s a miracle. My medical bill: $0. And Hillary’s? More than that, we can be sure.

I would not trade places with Hillary for even one minute. If you´re gonna run in 16, you need grandchildren, Hilly. Even Lady Thatcher knew that.

Climate change is damaging fish brains and
causing them to lose their survival instinct,
researchers warn

Fish are losing their survival instinct as the world´s oceans become more acidic because of climate change, researchers have claimed. The study confirms laboratory experiments showing that the behavior of reef fishes can be seriously affected by increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the ocean. Carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is absorbed into ocean waters, where it dissolves and lowers the pH of the water. The new study is the first to analyze the sensory impairment of fish from CO2 seeps, where pH is similar to what climate models forecast for surface waters by the turn of the century. ´These results verify our laboratory

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Washington -- A new video shows what looks like the largest and most dangerous gathering of al Qaeda in years. And the CIA and the Pentagon either didn´t know about it or couldn´t get a drone there in time to strike. U.S. officials won´t comment on that, but every frame of the video is now being analyzed by the United States. In the middle of the clip, the man known as al Qaeda´s crown prince, Nasir al-Wuhayshi, appears brazenly out in the open, greeting followers in Yemen. Al-Wuhayshi, the No. 2 leader of al Qaeda globally and the head of al Qaeda

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld says he has ´no idea´ whether his tax returns and payments are accurate. Rumsfeld made the claims in a letter that was sent to the IRS and shared on Twitter on Tuesday - and says he sends the same letter to the agency every year. He also says he doesn´t even know if earlier tax documents are accurate for him and his wife. ´I have sent in our federal income tax and our gift tax returns for 2013,´ it reads. ´As in prior years, it is important for you to know that I have absolutely no idea

Americans increasingly prefer

WASHINGTON - Americans increasingly think Democrats have a better plan for healthcare than Republicans, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after the White House announced that more people than expected had signed up for the "Obamacare" health plan. Nearly one-third of respondents in the online survey released on Tuesday said they prefer Democrats´ plan, policy or approach to healthcare, compared to just 18 percent for Republicans. This marks both an uptick in support for Democrats and a slide for Republicans since a similar poll in February. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius stepped down last week after overseeing the law´s

You can tell it´s an election year because so many noncrises are suddenly urgent priorities. Real median household income is still lower than it was in 2007, the smallest share of Americans is working since 1978, and the Russians are marching west, but Democrats are training fire on race, gender and the grievances of identity politics. "We have this congenital disease, which is in midterm elections we don´t vote at the same rates," President Obama said at a Houston fundraiser the other day. He means that the Obama Democrats are now what they call the "coalition of the ascendent," made

CBO Dire Debt Warnings Show
Nation´s Democrat Future

Big Government: The Congressional Budget Office warns of a terrifying, unprecedented level of national debt in the coming decade. That fits nicely with Democrats´ objectives, but not with our nation´s founding principles. Andrew Jackson, who in 1835 succeeded in paying off the national debt, was famous for considering debt slavery. The current fiscal path the U.S. is on does indeed lead to slavery, but the slave masters of the future will be well-heeled politicians and federal bureaucrats, not plantation owners. The CBO´s new budget projections contain an eerie warning that we are on path from today´s already unfathomable $17.7 trillion in gross

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than
