| WASHINGTON – The Obama administration’s long-delayed laundry list of the federal regulations it intends to pursue this year, released under what one lawmaker described as the “cover of darkness,” looks to contain proposals that are more costly than those offered by the president’s immediate predecessors. If fully implemented, the regulatory agenda as it is popularly known could wind up costing the public $123.2 billion, according to an analysis by the American Action Forum, a conservative, Washington-based think tank. The 2,387 tenders also are projected to result in at least 13 million paperwork burden hours.

And yet, to combat the message of unpopular expansive government that relieves us our liberties, the republicans nominated a liberal republican who as governor expanded government and ran away from the discussion about basic liberties under attack.
The time to have this discussion was a year ago.

It is going to cost us a heck of a LOT more than that! It will cost us millions, maybe billions, and tons of jobs too. Businesses will go out of business, prices of everything will skyrocket, etc. It will destroy what is left of our economy.

Why doesn´t the House, by party line vote, pass a bill stipulating that the funding of ANY new regulation not cost-accounted in detail in the regulatory agenda---AS PER LAW---will not be allocated until the following congressional year, or later, if the law is not followed. I guess that would take guts and brains, two attributes hard to locate in the House.

If there were an organized opposition to comprehensive immigration reform -- and there really isn´t, compared to the political/business/activist/lobbying complex in favor of it -- the opposition would pound daily on the key weakness at the heart of the Senate Gang of Eight bill. That weakness is simple. The bill proposes to legalize 11 million currently illegal immigrants before imposing greater border security and workplace enforcement. In that, the gang´s priorities are different from the American people´s. An opposition would remind the public of that, often. Many polls have shown that voters favor eventual legalization and a pathway to citizenship

American tourists dining on a glacier in eastern Iceland found themselves floating away from shore on an iceberg earlier this week, an Icelandic newspaper reported. Four people were rescued from Fjallsárlón glacial lagoon. They had set up a table and chairs with plans for dinner when a gust of wind pushed the ice from the land. They were stranded about 30 feet from shore. One of the diners managed to jump to shore before the ice drifted too far and call for help. Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
