| Responding to a viewer’s question during a 2009 interview on Al-Jazeera, former Sen. Chuck Hagel agreed that the United States needs to change its image as “the world’s bully.” “Well, her observation is a good one and it’s relevant. Yes, to her question, and again I think that’s all part of leadership,” Hagel said during the March 2009 interview. Hagel was nominated by President Obama to succeed Leon Panetta as secretary of defense Monday and is facing criticism for his social and foreign policy positions while in the Senate, and controversial record during his tenure as top official of the USO.

Hagel has always been politically wobbly regarding the principles which secure freedom. If he calls America, ´´the World´s Bully,´´ what does he then call Soviet Russia, Germany´s Nazi Holocaust, Cambodia´s killing Fields, 9/11 and the continuing islamoterrorist´s autrosities?! America is the beacon of Liberty on the planet and has served as, ´salt & light,´ to all who respect & cherish each individual´s freedom and peace on the planet.
Sidebar: Why do some pols, including both Hagel and Boehner, have that same over-stressed, ´hang-dog,´ look all the time? Their favorite dog breed must be the Basset, ...no offense to Bassets.

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. It is understood that a contingency plan is in place for the unlikely event that an attempt would be made on the President’s life. The Secret Service also have diplomatic immunity which will allow them to shoot to kill a would-be assassin without fear of prosecution. As part of the “evacuation route” plan, they would be able to spirit the President by chopper to one of the carriers where a jet is on standby to take him back to the United States.
