IBD/TIPP Poll Finds A
Sharply Divided America

It´s a frequently heard lament: Why can´t Washington get along and compromise on the big issues of the day? The federal government is, of course, divided, with the Democrats owning the White House and the Senate, the Republicans in control of the House. The division, though, didn´t begin in Washington. It has been created by the voters, and the gap between the sides is so wide that there seems to be no ground for compromise. Given the deep polarization found in the country, lawmakers simply cannot find common cause without betraying their constituencies.

It´s the people brainwashed by the moronic dogma of the left vs. those who see the reality before them.

I need to get a bumper sticker printed that touches this:

The problem is...
Government by parasites,
for parasites.

It definitely looks like the parasite class isn´t going to let us untie our hands enough to cut & grow our way out of this mess. I fear it´s going to get violent, and I don´t know if there will be a whole America afterword.

No common ground. None. They need us, specifically our $$, we do not need them, and we absolutely hate each other. And it will come to a head in the near future.

Our country is a house divided against itself.

I don´t think this country will survive for much longer.

When there were 90% givers and 10% takers we could handle it. But a 50/50 split is too much to sustain..

RE# 4&5 I´ve been saying that for over 4 years now. I´ve been thinking is since Bush was elected.

The truth is that liberals hate capitalism, free enterprise, self reliance, accountability, the constitution, republicans and conservatives. They, after all believe that we are inbred racist kicks and are by definition better than us.

Compromise and "getting along" to demonrats is bending over, grabbing the ankles and giving up any moral standards and letting them have their way....

The only "good" conservative is one who totally has no standards and never disagrees with what a demonrat wants.

Reality has a way of crashing through the fog. Those that already see reality coming (ants) will not be surprised. Those that don´t (grasshoppers) will be shocked and angry at the press and politicians for deceiving them but they will also try to steal the ants´ stuff. That´s when it gets nasty.

#3,4 & 9 : right, and when they start, it then becomes imperative that every grasshopper be hunted down.
You can´t rebuild with delusional parasites and self-anointed elitists throwing sand into the gears. No one registered as a democrat/socialist/communist or voting as a pubbie ´moderate´ (rino) should have the franchise (nor should their families) for at least 10 generations. Nor can they occupy any political office, NGO, governmental bureaucratic position, participate in politics in any way (think acorn and aclu), teach or work in the media during that time. It will take a long time to clean up their wide-spread sedition and the results of their traitorous actions.

fta: "GOP voters have had enough of Republicans who will give an inch to the Democrats´ permanent campaign for higher taxes and bigger government." Amen to that. If the Dept of Education has the resources to monitor lunch bags, they are over-resourced; if BATF has the resources to stimulate atrocities so they can control them, they are over-resources; if NSA wants to read our Email, also over-resourced; Dept of Transportation wants to install gadgets on new cars; Energy has money to throw away to Solyndra.... No. Over-resourced.

When the time comes I want the new capital for real Americans located in Texas. The looters and moochers can have D.C. It´s not safe there after dark anyway.

This is a bunch of claptrap. The US is divided for two reasons:
1) The moochers now outnumber the producers; and
2) Barry´s class warfare against the rich, unless you´re a bundler or big demonrat contributor.

Good Luck Being Unemployed Under Obama

Thirty-six weeks. That´s the average time an unemployed American is out of work in the Obama-led economy, according to the latest government data. For anyone who has been jobless for an extended duration of time, nine months seems like an eternity. But, nine months is the norm in the Obama economy. The latest data from the Department of Labor show the nation´s unemployment rate stands at 7.5%. The Obama Administration and Obama backers are quick to point out that this rate is the lowest of his presidency. However, the deeper we dig into the state of the unemployed under Obama,

Now that the low-information/low-knowledge segment of the country is waking up to what conservatives have been pointing out since Barack Obama was first sanctified by the left, we are being treated to the spectacle of a liberal epiphany. How, they ask themselves, could this have happened? How could they have been suckered so completely? After all, liberals/progressives tell us all the time, they are a superior manifestation of the species. They are always right, and their political opponents are always bad people, motivated by ignorance and stupidity at best, and impure designs at least.

RUSH: Now, I mentioned at the last segment right before the top of the hour that the IRS was asking religious groups for the content of their prayers prior to granting them tax-exempt status -- and, in some cases, not granting it. It came out during the Ways and Means Committee hearing on the IRS scandal. The acting IRS commissioner, Steven Miller, who´s leaving, was testifying. Congressman Aaron Schock, a Republican from Illinois, had a question for him.

RUSH: Folks, we are being told that Lois Lerner´s seemingly out-of-the-blue admission about the IRS tax-exempt waivers was carefully planned. The question that evoked her admission was planted as part of prepared strategy for the IRS to release this information to the public, and that´s according to the outgoing IRS commissioner, Steven Miller. He said it in testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee this morning.

RUSH: I am getting the sense that there is an effervescing rage in the country over what is happening. If you´re watching these hearings today, if you are listening to the media, I hate to say, "I told you so," but the media is circling the wagons around the regime. It was just yesterday and the day before that people eagerly called here and were sending me e-mails, thinking this was it. "The media is finally going to turn on Obama!" I said, "It´s never going to happen, not for real,"

Speaking at Ohio State University this month, Barack Obama urged students to pay no attention to those paranoid types who "incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity." Oddly enough, in recent days the most compelling testimony for this view of government has come from the president himself, who insists, with a straight face, that he had no idea that the Internal Revenue Service had spent two years targeting his political enemies until he "learned about it from the same news reports that I think most people learned about this."

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part
