| LOS ANGELES- Walt Disney Co started an internal cost-cutting review several weeks ago that may include layoffs at its studio and other units, three people with knowledge of the effort told Reuters, in an early sign that big companies may not be finished tightening their belts. Disney, whose empire spans TV, film, merchandise and theme parks, is exploring cutbacks in jobs it no longer needs because of improvements in technology, one of the people said. It is also looking at redundant operations that could be eliminated following a string of major acquisitions over the past few years,

Disney destroyed its business when they got greedy and fired all their animators and writers (replaced them all with a few computer graphics geeks) and hired hundreds of managers and executives (for no good reason). The company should have just closed its doors when it did that.

Screw Disney! They have abandoned the core principles of their founder Walt and replaced them with greed and a total disdain foe wholesome family entertainment. Many of their movies and TV shows are violent and sex driven garbage. Also, they have embraced the demoCRAPS & left wing politics to the nth degree, well the obama economy is coming back and biting then in the wallet, well they haven’t seen anything yet, by the summer park time unemployment will back in the 8% range and their bottom line will be really hurting.

I could not help but think of Michael Eisner selling his $70 million in stock just before the Clinton tax increases took affect back in 1991. Looks like Albert, Prince of Dorkness took note.

I remember when Michael Eisner cashed in 100 million while firing 3,000 people.

Disney´s problems are self-inflicted, and now God´s wrath is coming home to roost. The company´s amoral, atheist leadership has long supported homosexuals and pediphiles and Nazis. In addition, their movies promote communist values and damage young minds. Lastly, Disney parks blatantly promote an anti-America, Godless agenda.

I grew up in Anaheim in the 60´s.
Disney was the employer of choice for all the local kids. They never fired or laid off anyone without cause.
Uncle Walt (Peace be upon Him) was the prophet of imagineering for a whole generation of SoCal kids.
Walt WAS America !
No limits !
Excellence in everything.

#9.. Disney does not organize Orlando Gay Days. Orlando Gay Days is a company that organizes a huge homosexual convention in Orlando, plans excursions to the parks, arranges hotel accommodations, and plans parties for the convention goers. Let me ask you, were Disney to look at them and say "No, you gay people can not come to our park on Saturday June 1st!!" how fast do you think the lawyers would take to pounce? Actually this year the host hotel isn´t even near WDW property. It´s the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld. I know this because we vacation down there and I like to avoid big crowded weekends and Gay Days are generally the end of May/beginning June so I look it up to avoid the massive crowd.
I am all for calling Disney out on what they do wrong but this is NOT something they have control over and something they would be destroyed by should they ever decide to do what you would like them to do, which indeed would be discrimination. Some battles are indeed worth fighting. Homosexuals going on vacation is not one of them.
Oh and Budlight is probably Orlando Gaydays biggest sponsor btw.

When Chelsea Clinton wanted to make a low-key visit to the hurricane-stricken Rockaways last fall, she arranged to take a trip with her close friend Huma Abedin, a longtime aide to Hillary Rodham Clinton. So some members of the Clinton camp were surprised and unsettled to learn that Ms. Abedin also brought along her husband, Anthony D. Weiner, the former congressman who had rarely been seen in public since resigning his seat the previous year. The next day, Mr. Weiner reactivated his Twitter account to post a video about the Rockaways. Photographs soon surfaced in New York news outlets

WASHINGTON — At times on Thursday, it seemed President Obama was taking part in a debate rather than giving a speech. Deep into an address at the National Defense University, where Mr. Obama sought to redefine America’s approach to fighting terrorism, a heckler repeatedly interrupted from the back of the room, demanding an end to drone strikes and the closing of the Guantánamo Bay detention center in Cuba. The heckler — though she objected strenuously to being described that way — was Medea Benjamin, a co-founder of Code Pink, a group opposed to United States military actions.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” That’s the full text of the First Amendment. But (with apologies to the old Far Side comic), this is what many in the press, academia, and government would hear if you read it aloud: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, blah blah blah, or abridging the freedom of the press,

Fox News chief Roger Ailes´s letter to his employees is a battle cry that will echo beyond the Avenue of the Americas. "The administration’s attempt to intimidate Fox News and its employees will not succeed and their excuses will stand neither the test of law, the test of decency, nor the test of time. We will not allow a climate of press intimidation, unseen since the McCarthy era, to frighten any of us away from the truth," he wrote. Already, Fox News has found some unlikely allies--even in the left media. Salon.com´s Washington, DC correspondent, a frequent critic

A religious group spewing what the owners of One Liberty Place call hate speech against women, whites and gays can no longer demonstrate immediately outside the building´s entrance at 16th and Chestnut Streets, a judge ruled today. The owners of One Liberty Place in Center City Philadelphia filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Israelite School of Universal Practical Knowledge. The group is frequently seen perched on Center City street corners shouting at passersby through bullhorns. Liberty Place Retail Associates, which owns the building, has asked the state court to bar the group from gathering in front of the entrance

WASHINGTON — Schoolchildren from New Jersey shore communities battered by Superstorm Sandy will join Michelle Obama for a garden harvest next week. The White House says the first lady will also be joined Tuesday by students who helped plant the crops last month. The New Jersey students are from Union Beach Memorial School in Union Beach and Long Beach Island Grade School in Ship Bottom. Both schools were damaged in last October’s storm. Both also teach their students about healthy eating, which is one of the first lady’s causes. The students who helped plant lettuce, broccoli and various other crops

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
