Actress Eva Longoria, a prominent supporter and fundraiser for President Obama, will lead an Hispanic tribute to the president during the inauguration festivities. The event, which will also feature actors Melanie Griffith, George Lopez, Mario Lopez and others, will take place Jan. 20th at the Kennedy Center. Obama will take the formal oath of office that day at the White House (as required by the Constitution) and then will have a ceremonial swearing-in on Monday at the Capital, where he will give his inaugural address. Longoria is a co-chairwoman of the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Only white people are evil when they refer to their ethnicity.

Funny, how that is.

Years ago I read a puff piece on her, it was around the time she married the NBA player, that mentioned she didn´t learn Spanish until later in life and wasn´t comfortable doing interviews in Spanish. But now she´s the "go to" Latina for her idol Barry. Go figure.

#1 Melanie Griffith is married to Antonio Banderas, who is Spanish. I guess that makes her "Hispanic by association" or something like that. Why does anyone pay "tribute" to any American President? They are not kings, they are elected officials...

Poster 13. hispanics, I´m speaking of the most recent waves, are not Americans. They don´t assiimilate. Their loyalty lies with the old country. They send a minimum of $30 billion each year back to mexico. They travel to mexico on vacation---their pockets stuffed with gringo dollars. The latest imports operate somewhere between no loyalty to America and resentment of USA. On the other hand, blacks are not unpatriotic. They call themselves African Americans. Generally speaking with hispanics the American part is left out.

hispanics are a major and growing entitlement class. Gimme gimme gimme. Therefore, hispanics can be counted on as 75 to 80 percent democrat voting block and there is nothing the GOP can do about it no matter how much hispanic outreach is engaged in.

You all know that Longoria hosted the very expensive party that Michelle went to in Majorca on the pretext that she was comforting a friend after a death in the family. The press mention was very brief, then disappeared into the ether. Now imagine somebody like Nancy Reagan or Laura Bush getting away with that. After all, they practically crucified Nancy for the private fundraising for new WH china.

With total student loans exceeding $1 trillion, one must ask “is the tassel worth the financial hassle” when it comes to spending for prestigious colleges. Here’s my rough rule of thumb for taking on student loan debt: “Think long and hard about taking on more in total student loans than you expect to earn, on average, in your first 10 years after graduating.” That’s a mouthful so let me put some numbers on it. If you expect your average annual income over the first 10 years you are out of school to be $50,000, be really, really careful about taking

The recordings were published by Mother Jones, who said they’re from four years ago. The reporter said his article sheds light on a side of Martinez the public has never seen before, a

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Vice President Joe Biden really did get ahead of President Barack Obama on accepting gay marriage in 2012 — and the White House really wasn’t happy about it, despite the two leaders’ many attempts to claim otherwise. That’s the story laid out in Jo Becker’s new book, “Forcing the Spring,” which documents the past few years of successful efforts to expand the legalization of gay marriage, according to an advance copy obtained by POLITICO. Speculation that Biden’s comments on “Meet the Press” in May 2012 were meant as a trial balloon, Becker writes, came from people “not privy to the

President Obama said Wednesday that Russia realizes the U.S. military is “significantly superior” to its own and does not want war with the United States. Asked in an interview with CBS News about a Russian fighter buzzing a U.S. Navy ship in the Black Sea on Saturday, Obama said, “They’re not interested in any kind of military confrontation with us, understanding that our conventional forces are significantly superior to the Russians.” Obama accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of being behind uprisings in Ukraine in which government buildings have been taken over. Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as
