Flu bug overwhelms local hospitals

| Seven Chicago-area hospitals have had to send ambulances elsewhere this morning as they deal with an influx of patients with flu-like symptoms. As of 9:45 a.m., the hospitals remained on bypass status, which means their emergency rooms are at capacity and non-critical patients are being re-routed to other hospitals, said Melaney Arnold, spokeswoman for the Illinois Department of Public Health. The Chicago-area hospitals included Northwestern Memorial Hospital, University of Chicago Medical Center and Swedish Covenant Hospital. Rockford Memorial Hospital was the only hospital outside of Chicago on bypass.

I think they just have lots of leftover shots so the ´scare tactics´ will probably work.
Do all people with flu go to the hospital???
I don´t know, never got flu shots, and no flu either.

I look at local newspapers from across the land, and without exception they all have stories titled along the lines of, "[Fill in area or state name] Overwhelmed with Flu Cases."
Vaccine pushers share the same glowing press access as enjoyed by the government.

every year millions of people get the flu, and every year millions of people survive the flu, and yes there is a percentage of people who do not usually infirmed, weak and or infants with not yet fully developed immune systems (lack of mothers milk) Even with the supposed flu vaccines the same number of people each year get sick and the same number of people each year die from the flu. but hey the pharma company´s need to sell something to make profits

Yes, people with the flu end up in the hospital.
I´ve a very athletic, big, guy of relatively young age and normally strong immune system.
The pig flu of several years ago put me in the hospital with 108+ fever and resulting pnemonia. Very nearly killed me.

I´ve had the flu several times, but not when I have had the vaccine. I take it seriously. As a health care provider I know it is real.

While some around me have suffered, I have not had ´flu´ since beginning to be vaccinated over 20 years ago. It has worked for me, and I was able to help family and friends who did not get vaccinated. This time around I am aware that the jab alone will not protect me. I have always been careful, carrying Purell in my pocket and purse and car, and never using it unless there was a serious bug around. I have been fortunate that in the past soap and hot water with a minute of hand washing worked most of the time. Not touching face. Hand washing after touching money, shaking hands, before touching food. Decent sanitary habits are sadly lacking today which enables germs to continue their fight towards victory. We can do a lot with our small contribution by being clean.

got my first ever flu shot yesterday and today I feel terrible. So either I was already infected or the shot gave me a mild flu - can´t seem to figure it out - if that´s even possible...

It is understood that a contingency plan is in place for the unlikely event that an attempt would be made on the President’s life. The Secret Service also have diplomatic immunity which will allow them to shoot to kill a would-be assassin without fear of prosecution. As part of the “evacuation route” plan, they would be able to spirit the President by chopper to one of the carriers where a jet is on standby to take him back to the United States.
