| On last night’s Dateline NBC, Al Roker opened up about a terribly embarrassing incident that occurred more than ten years ago while he was covering an event at the White House. Just one month after he underwent gastric bypass surgery, Roker tried to “pass gas” as he was headed to the press room, “but a little something extra came out.” Roker explained that right after the bowel reconstruction surgery “you think you’re pretty safe” but you still have to be careful. He tried to be delicate in his explanation of the unfortunate incident, but the

Our standard of fame, and his, is rather low.
I also stopped watching The Weather Channel, where despite a staff of dozens of on-camera meteorologists, they brought in Al flaming Roker.

The only thing I like about Al Roker is that he produces, not by himself though, series on the Weather Channel that I like: Coast Guard Alaska, Coast Guard Florida, Lifeguards, etc. These shows display real heroes in real life situations and are worth watching for the scenery alone, not to mention the scenery when these heroes take off their shirts!! Roker will never look like that.

The conservative writer Quin Hillyer says he’s “laying down” his pen and running for Congress in Alabama. Hillyer, who most recently worked for The American Spectator, The Washington Times and The Washington Examiner, became the first to throw his hat in the contest after the unexpected resignation of Republican Rep. Jo Bonner on Thursday. "When an opportunity comes to do something good, one must grab it,” Hillyer wrote on the American Spectator blog. Hillyer, once an aide to former Louisiana Rep. Bob Livingston, is well-known in the political community of Mobile, Alabama, where he now lives.

Washington - President Obama, seemingly preoccupied, forgot one piece of protocol as he boarded Marine One on his way to Annapolis Friday. Obama walked past the Marine at the bottom of the helicopter´s stairs and didn´t give the traditional salute. Realizing his mistake upon entering Marine One the president pivoted in the doorway, jogged back down, shook hands and spoke briefly with the Marine before boarding the helicopter for a second time.

Key Democrats say Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner didn´t give up her Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination by giving an opening statement at a House hearing on Wednesday. Democrats on the Oversight panel said they want Lerner to testify about the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, and are not defending her decision to invoke the Fifth Amendment. But Lerner’s Constitutional rights are clear, the Democrats argue, and committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) will be wasting the panel’s time and resources waging a losing battle against her attorneys while the FBI conducts

CHARLOTTE, NC - The woman at the center of a scandal that helped bring down the director of the CIA said she is sorry about what happened. Paula Broadwell told TV station WSOC in Charlotte that she regrets how her affair with David Petraeus affected others. "I have remorse for the harm that this has caused, the sadness it has caused my family and other families," Broadwell said in the first sit down interview since the scandal broke six months ago. Former 2012 presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is forming a new PAC dedicated to helping elect like-minded Republican candidates across the country. Huntsman says he’s undecided on his future plans and the 2016 race, but the new Red Rock PAC will give him a perch from which to speak and travel — as well as give him access to a network of candidates, donors and potential future surrogates for any presidential candidacy. “It’s way early,” Huntsman told POLITICO about the 2016 race. “For this year and next year, it will be more about talking about

Last month, a Kaiser Foundation poll pegged Obamacare’s public support at a tepid 35 percent. A new survey from Fox News confirms that finding. Asked if they’d rather to keep the new law in place or erase it from the history books and revert back to the 2009 system, Americans say they’d strongly prefer turning back the clock: 22. Do you think it would be better to leave the new health care law in place, or would it be better to go back to the health care system that was in place in 2009? Better to keep law:

The Washington Post carried a huge, almost life-size picture of Jay Carney’s head in the Style section on Friday. But it was designed as a pick-me-up for the embattled Obama spinner. It was a story about...Carney and his favorite rock band. “Benghazi and the IRS have kept Carney scrambling, and he hasn’t had much time to listen to ‘English Little League,’ the latest album from the Ohio indie-rock band [Guided by Voices] he has affectionately name-dropped in more than one news briefing.” Critics want Carney canned, but the Post wants him to feel happy about the “beer-soaked brilliance”

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping
