| Controversy erupted at the Illinois Labor History Society’s “Salute to Labor’s Historic Heroes from the History Makers of Today” conference when Karen Lewis, president of the Chicago Teachers Union, drew applause and laughs for suggesting that a past generation of labor leaders preferred to resolve disputes with murder. Lewis drew laughs when she talked about beheading the rich as a preferred method of conflict resolution for disgruntled labor organizers of a bygone era. (Snip) “At this very moment I still believe there is one party in this country – that is, the party of money, with two

She was funnier when she was ridiculing Arne Duncan for having a speech impediment.
Why can´t Karen Lewis, and all the hot chicks, Roseanne, Whoopi, et al, be happy with just being so Fn hot?
But, NOOOOO they have to try to be funny, too!

Reminds me of a movie called the four hundred blows. Step by step the divide deepens. More people should read about the stages of conflict and think before they speak. In a perfect world I wish malace towards no one.

Read the comments that follow the article! Here´s one typical comment "We as Educators will not allow our children to be trained as trick-monkeys for corporate wealth and power growth." These far left educators are beyond sick and they are teaching "our children"? No wonder the country is so divided. What would this country be like if we had no corporations? We would be a third world seas pool.

That Chicago teachers are represented by someone like this explains a lot. No wonder the city is having the problems it has. This woman doesn´t even know what the teachers are there for! It is very likely that many of those she represents don´t know what their purpose is either.
Teaching and news reporting have not always been accorded the dignity and status of professions. Somehow humanity survived and accomplished great things long before schools of education and journalism made their appearance. The latter seem principally to serve as indoctrination centers and foci of ideological infection. I am not aware of any good evidence they add value or quality or skill to their nominal purpose, e.g. how to educate students or report the news. Combined with powerful unions, schools of education have unleashed a nightmare on the nation that may prove our undoing. This woman and her cheering are one example.

What a pig! Literally, figuratively... How sick is it that this miserable excuse for a human actually represents Chicago teachers? No wonder 80% of Chicago children in 8th grade are not proficient in reading or math for their grade level. Does anyone wonder why Chicago keeps electing corrupt democrap officials and sent us the most corrupt president ever?
Not only is she a pig, she is ignorant to boot. Does she realize in the grand scope of the earth, she is a rich pig herself? She lives like the "filthy rich" pig she is by having more food and wealth than billions of people on the face of the earth.
Sorry to the world´s pigs for the comparison. It´s the only word I wouldn´t get banned for calling her.

1. Ah, the sweet fragrance of "the new civility."
2. Uglier on the outside or the inside?
3. About "schools" and "educators": in big city gov´t schools, only half the employees are classroom teachers. In charter schools, it´s about 80%. Among big city gov´t school "teachers," roughly 40% or more send their kids to private schools. Come on, do you need to hear more? Really?
4. Gov´t schools are bureaucracies first and foremost. The purpose of any bureaucracy is not "results", not progress toward some stated goal, but self-preservation. And nothing "proves" the need for a given bureaucracy more than its growth. That helps explain two things about bureaucracies: a. they can never really "succeed" [for they are then unnecessary]; and b. "mission creep" is a great defense and "proof" of their "importance." "Mission creep" often falls into one of two categories [or tactics?]: a. make the definition of your field ever-wider, ever-fuzzier [note how just about everyone "has" or "is at risk from" diabetes]; and b. simply annex new territory [look at how various medical charities/associations have expanded their "areas of interest"].
Rust never sleeps. A good thing to keep in mind. Along with the salaries of the "big-shots" in these organizations....

She is typical of liberal thinking. She, of course, is paid by the union, which gets its money from the teachers, who are paid by the government, which gets its money from taxpayers. She is so far removed from where her salary comes from that she thinks that without rich people hogging their "unfair share" there would be enough to go around for everyone else. Where would we be if she really could get rid of rich people? She needs to read the last third of Atlas Shrugged for a clue.

"Let´s face facts: the American media is in an abusive relationship with Obama." Let´s face facts: the American media is in an abusive relationship with Obama. They don´t quite know what to do. If you take the New York Times, you could refer to it as "Fifty Shades of Grey Lady."

On Wednesday, CNN anchor Jake Tapper dug into the controversial way in which members of President Barack Obama’s administration have apparently tried to intimidate whistleblowers in the government and the journalists that would investigate their stories. Tapper said that some, including the New York Times editorial board, have described the administration’s actions as “threatening fundamental freedoms of the press.” He warned Obama’s supporters to remember the precedent his administration is setting when a Republican next occupies the Oval Office. Tapper noted that the scandal surrounding the subpoenaing of Fox News reporter James Rosen’s personal telephone and email

Write you? About this particular subject? Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan asked during a House Oversight hearing. “Did you get letters from Congress?”

The chief judge of the District’s federal court issued an unusual order Wednesday, apologizing to the public and the media for not making certain court documents widely available online. The gesture of transparency by U.S. District Judge Royce C. The investigation of Rosen was first reported Monday, after The Washington

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
