Current situation: Staffers talk
about first meeting with Al Jazeera

New York Post, by Linda Stasi

Original Article

Just call him Al Gorezeera. Yesterday morning, the still shell shocked staff at Current TV was called to an all hands staff meeting at its San Francisco headquarters, which was teleconferenced to their offices in LA and NYC, to meet their new bosses. That would be two of Al Jazeera’s top guys: Ehab Al Shihabi, executive director of international operations, and Muftah AlSuwaidan, general manager of the London bureau. Ominously missing was the creator of Current, the self proclaimed inventor of the Internet and savior of clean energy, Al Gore, although his partner, Joel Hyatt, stood proudly with the Al Jazeera honchos.

To think this maroon was close to being president. What a disgraceful idiot.

I was once a manager with a company that was acquired by a organization from Bahrain. My advice to these staffers is to get out quick, you´re going to be worked to death and then fired.

The staff is surprised by Al´s hypocrisy and call him a BSer. Why am I not surprised that they are surprised?

Hey y´all -- how does it feel to be used and thrown away by Al Gorezeera?

I love it...the fool ex Gov wanted to know about severance. There will be little if any.

Excuse my schadenfreude.

I suppose it is too much to hope these morons will reevaluate their political views.

Methinks that the author must be an Ldotter. The name Al Gorezeera has been in use here since this news first appeared last week.

That this master fraud won the popular vote in 2000 and with Obama winning re-election, what hope whatsoever is there for this nation?

One additional benefit will be a heavy wool Burqa the women can wear while on TV. No need to ´waste time´ getting dolled up for the camera!

#9, with democrats being the masters of the illegally cast vote and the stuffed ballot box, I seriously doubt AlGone won the popular vote in 2000. Just as likely, Zero didn´t either.

We are now a third world country led by an illegally elected president who hates the country he was illegally elected to lead.

Worst news of all: democrats are okay with that.

To female Current staffers, such as Jennifer Granholm: shut up and put on your hijab.

Give multi-culturalism a chance. After all, you bought and drank Al´s kool-aid didn´t you?

I’d be careful about that severance stuff. Their idea of severance and yours might not be the same.

Now we have a real live propaganda organization based in the USA for obama´s people. I know, CNN beat them to it, but now we will be licensing an arab news organization that openly advocates our demise. So much for the gorebot having any principles. The previous poster is right. He is a traitor, and a greedy one to boot.

Leave it to a politician to be brazen enough to ask her new Arab owners for a "severance" package.

Reply 21 - Posted by: comstock, 1/8/2013 10:40:45 AM     (No. 9104816)

Why don´t they go on strike? After all, their combined efforts have resulted in a failed network. The evil bosses sold out to line thir own pockets leaving the workers with nothing. They even outsourced management!

Throw a picket line up in front of their building. That ought to amuse their new employers.

I will be interesting to see how many Jewish staffers Current TV had and how many will still be there a year from now.

How many if these idiot Current staffers went all in on Romney´s ´binders full of women´ comment? How many went bat guano believing Romney would outlaw tampons? And their Dear Leader just sold them into servitude to real oppressors of women.

I´m eating it up with a spoon. Own all of this, you commie libs!

San Francisco leftists live in an alternate universe where they say one thing and do another and somehow justify it. I´m absolutely loving how Al Gore and the Hyatts screwed them. Al Gore is nothing but a money grubbing hillbilly with the personality of a head of lettuce, and Joel Hyatt and his wife are both elitist hypocritical jerks who love to "help" people with one hand while they screw them over with the other.

I´ve always been amazed by the support the typical SF leftie gives to Islam. It makes no sense as they are against everything the feel gooder liberals stand for. Isn´t it interesting that we haven´t heard anything from the gay community about this? You´d think the fact that Muslims publicly execute gay people just for being gay would upset some of these folks.

Just proves the point I´ve been making for years, these people talk one game about tolerance, and peace, and love, but what they really want to know is how much money they´re going to get. It will serve them right when they all lose their jobs. What will be interesting is to hear who they blame for it. Bush anyone?

After almost nine months, during which we have seen a bogus State Department press release, Rose Garden denouncements, a Treaty Room statement, Andrews Air Force base condolences, 25,000 documents, an Accountability Review Board report, a Senate report, depositions, press briefings, Congressional hearings, and Obama administration officials trolling on Sunday talk shows, it’s time to play Benghazi CLUE! America needs to know if Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, or any of the other suspects used a dagger, a knife, a rope, or a candlestick in the library, the conservatory, or the billiard room.

The Washington Post reported today that, in the course of a leak investigation of a State Department employee who allegedly provided Fox News’s James Rosen with classified information, the Obama Justice Department not only subpoenaed Rosen’s private e-mails but also said that Rosen was “an aider and abettor and/or co-conspirator” in the alleged crime. Rosen was not charged with any crime, but it is unprecedented for the government, in an official court document, to accuse a reporter of breaking the law for conducting the routine business of reporting on government secrets.

An Internal Revenue Service review of the agency’s approach of scrutinizing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status questioned the now-controversial policy a year ago, according to a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee aide who asked not to be identified. IRS officials briefed House and Senate committee staffers on the matter on May 13, the day before the Treasury Department’s Inspector General for Tax Administration released his report describing the decision to single out groups with phrases such as “tea party” and “patriot” in their name as “inappropriate.”

The outgoing IRS commissioner expressed regret Tuesday for a decision to use a planted question to go public with the agency´s practice of targeting conservative groups, calling the move "an incredibly bad idea." Steven Miller, appearing on the Hill for a second hearing in two weeks on the scandal, acknowledged that the agency was trying to get ahead of a damning investigative report at the time. As was confirmed over the weekend, he admitted the agency had a question planted at a conference two Fridays ago --

“You and others have said that no one in the White House knew about IRS actions before getting the heads up on the inspector general´s report last month,” George Stephanopoulos told senior White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer on Sunday. “Are you absolutely sure of that?” “Yes,” Pfeiffer replied. Do you believe him? Knowing the consequences that would befall the Obama administration if the White House or Obama’s reelection campaign knew in real time that the IRS was targeting conservatives, I desperately want to believe Pfeiffer. I’ve known him for years. I like him. He’s never lied to me.

The scandals of the Obama administration seem to be hurting not just the White House but MSNBC as well while Fox News Channel scored its second-best week of the year. After double-digit gains during last year’s presidential election, May 13-17 saw the progressive-aligned “Lean Forward” news network hit new lows as the IRS scandal erupted and revelations that the Justice Department secretly obtained AP records became public. With 350,000 viewers on average and 94,000 among the adults 25-54 demo, MSNBC had its least-watched and lowest-rated total-day results of the year last week.

More whistleblowers will emerge shortly in the escalating Benghazi scandal, according to two former U.S. diplomats who spoke with PJ Media Monday afternoon. These whistleblowers, colleagues of the former diplomats, are currently securing legal counsel because they work in areas not fully protected by the Whistleblower law. According to the diplomats, what these whistleblowers will say will be at least as explosive as what we have already learned about the scandal, including details about what really transpired in Benghazi that are potentially devastating to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen.
