| Whether he´s publicly recapitulating the hallucinations of an imaginary friend, or wrongly assuring the public that various government programs are "fully funded," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid tends to struggle with the truth. The recent high-octane bout of partisan wrangling over whether to pass a porked-up Sandy relief bill is finally complete, and Reid is unhappy that Congress didn´t spend more money. To emphasize his frustration, he downplayed the severity of Hurricane Katrina´s destruction in order to cast Sandy as far worse -- thus indicting those who opposed even one cent of unrelated "relief"

I really don´t understand why the Repub leadership even attempts to argue or debate Reid.
They should simply state that Reid is a fool, is too incompetent to be Senate Majority Leader (1200 days since a budget?), and dismiss him as a buffoon. (Ridicule him, to take a page from Rules for Radicals playbook)
That will guarantee to make Reid´s head explode, and act even more foolish.

Boehner isn´t getting enough credit for stopping this crazy pork spending that the left had their eyes on and mouths drooling over.$9 billion,if properly spent and that´s a big if considering it´ll go through NY and NJ´s graft machines,is more that enough to rebuild these areas.People all up and down the bureaucratic pipeline get their piece of the action.
Someone has to draw up rebuilding plans which could take months before a shovel even hits the ground.So in comes an army of high paid consultants right off the bat. They might even have to be approved by the UN central planners.
But anyway as this other pork goes through the House it can be voted down piece by piece.That would really be a coup if Boehner pulls it off.

Reid was trying to insulate Obama from criticism about the response to Sandy. Recall the article over the weekend where the woman who was used as a pre-election prop was saying that Obama lied to her when he promised her help. Everything Reid does is political. He has no moral core and will say anything to advance the Democrat party even at the expense of obvious truth.

Instead of comparing the two storms let´s compare places they hit. Liberals in New Orleans and Liberals in the NE have been taught from birth to worship Big Government. I can guarantee you that no one in Joplin or Mississippi was wandering around in their socks months after the storm hit waiting for Obama to show up. Do these fools think that their Masters are going to dump cash in their mailboxes? This money will be swallowed up by fraud and businesses who actually pay taxes so they can keep paying them. The idiots who bought houses on the beach and didn´t insure them need to relocate.

I have never been against a hand up for these folks. What I am against is pork and the fact they sit on their backsides and do nothing but wait for government to save them. And yes indeed, Reid is a racist. But it is allowed due to the fact of his terminal disease of liberalism.

The first lady went to Bowie State and addressed the graduating class. Her speech was a mix of black history and a salute to the graduates. (Snip) It takes a man of particular vision to know, as Obama did, that the country really was ready to send an African American to the White House. But I also think that some day historians will pore over his many speeches to black audiences. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings.
