As always, VDH does not disappoint. This excellent article should be a Must Read. Hanson has exposed the hypocrisy of Obama´s rich friends, all of whom have used strategies of tax avoidance. All the while, we normal taxpayers are being punished for our hard work with new taxes on every aspect of our lives.

There is only one way to change this upside down situation. TTBO(Throw The B@$$t@ds Out)!

They get away with this stuff because most of the middle class and all of the underclass can´t understand what is going on. In my daughter´s office, a large doctors´ office, only she (head bookkeeper), the office manager and the doctors understand that the payroll tax was temporarily suspended by Obama so people would think they were making more money and would vote for him. Now that they hear their pay checks will soon be smaller they are bewildered. The office manager is going to post an explanation. Most voted for Obama. Dumb as rocks.

Anyone honest about increased taxation on themselves would not just refrain from aggressive tax avoidance strategies. They would donate a substantial part of their wealth to the IRS. They would not wait for the laws the demand to require them to pay their fair share but go ahead and pay it freely and cheerfully. They claim not to be paying enough, they crusade for laws to make them and others like them pay their fair share; but nothing prevents them from going ahead and doing so. Perhaps the example would inspire others. It would demonstrate that they were serious.

As far as I am aware, nobody has ever, not one single time, put their money where their mouth is in this matter, i.e. voluntarily remitted MORE than the law required to the IRS. Indeed, as VDH documents, every single such advocate of higher taxation on themselves and others avails themselves of every deduction and loophole to pay the least possible amount in taxes.

VDH is correct. It is all for show, a form of quasi-religious-magical-social performance art. Some of it undoubtedly aims to avoid the Evil Eye of envious malice by professing to be WILLING to pay more, even though deeds do not match words.

It is not possible for a sentient person to be a practicing Democrat unless he is either a hypocrite or a dunce, or both.
