Framing the Issues
American Thinker, by Gary Aminoff

The Democrats are playing a strategic game to recover the House in 2014. They are playing to win, and they are playing well. They are keeping the Republicans constantly on defense, not allowing them to frame the issues in ways which are clearly understandable to the American people and that show that Republicans are acting in the best interest of the American people.

The GOP HAS no offense.

We are going to see a GOP train wreck in 2014. They are simply incapable of controlling the message. The CrapMedia is already on board with the WH and will hammer home the Obama narrative. Expect more presidential giveaways between now and Nov. 2014. Obama will use the latest tax increase to buy more votes and further sink any chance for GOP advancement. In fact, it doesn`t even matter if the dems retake the House. They will get what they want anyway and blame any fallout on the GOP.

Works e-v-e-r-y time.

She whose name we dare not speak does a pretty gosh darn good job of framing issues and building support. But we can´t have that now. She´s not our kind, dear.

The bomb-throwing Left will soon wear out their welcome.

Tactics cannot obscure the devastation of Obamacare´s reach in 2014.
Tactics do not obliterate higher taxes, nor the wretched economy, etc.

Bamster goes down in 2014.

Let me help:
Step one: marginalize the people clamoring for a third party. Happily show them the door.
Step Two: focus on creating economic opportunity rather than budget cuts. Cuts are necessary, but the GOP doesn´t have the votes in Congress or in the White House to get it done and budget cuts are very unpopular.
Step three: be nice to Obama. Treat him like you would any other president elected twice. This will drive his base insane and they will start clamoring for more unpopular positions like cap and trade.
Step four: offer to trade debt ceiling hikes for expanded drilling on public lands, keystone approval and other measures that will improve economic conditions. Rhetorically denounce tax hikes not as "socialism" but rather as harmful to economic growth. Ask voters: do tax hikes create or destroy economic activity? Then, in these tough economic times, do you want more or less economic activity?
Step five: stop hiding on Fox News and talk radio and go on the lib shows and beat their ideas to a pulp. It can be done.
Step six: reelect Michael Steele Chairman of the GOP. Dump Mitch McConnell.

They will not be caught sitting on the front porch in 2014. They´ll employ the massive get out the vote, legit and not.

We need to be active in our home States, town, State-wide. The Dem/Lefties are clever at dispiriting their opponents. Some on our side too easily fold, quit. So the Lefties figure what worked before will work again.

This goes back to the TEA Party article, as that group completely surprised the Lefties. They, however, do not turn on each other. Note how almost every pundit on our side turned the knives on Repubs.

Like one of the Lefties´ favorites, Lenin, BO will have NO factionalism. You will not hear any criticism from anyone on the Dem/Left side... no... matter... what. They are totally united against Republicans (of every stripe, it doesn´t matter).

You will NEVER hear Dems talk about splitting off to a "third party" or staying home on election day.

We must learn from our political enemies.

It is difficult to frame a message when the LSM won´t even give you a chance to speak it. There have been conservatives who have held news conferences and made media statements that did explain the situation -- and those went nowhere, most never even getting airtime.

#5´s suggestion of going on liberal media and at least getting to an audience has merit. But it has to be an extremely well prepared person who can go on those shows and not get trounced. The conservative will almost always win on logic, numbers, and facts -- but he/she will only have a single shot before getting shut down by the host if it looks like the argument is going to stick. Once it appears that the conservative is getting a point across, most of the LSM shows will interrupt and then shout down the conservative or attack with irrelevant emotional responses. It can be done, but be prepared to take a beating and only get 1 or 2 points made per show.

Or, #7, the media might let the Republicans talk, but will always cast what they say in a negative light. You just won´t ever get them on your side.

The pain of Obamacare will be apparent by then, jobs will still be scarce, college graduates will be flipping burgers and democrats own guns too. Obama and democrats are pushing too far.

Hey, liberals! Obama thinks you are stupid. Yeah, he really does. He knew Benghazi was terrorism before he didn´t know it was terrorism. Addressing a question about Benghazi in his press conference Monday, May 13, 2013, Obama´s "logic" really made an impression: "The Day after it happened I acknowledged that this was an act of terrorism." (snip) Leaving behind Obama´s initial certitude about Benghazi having been a terror attack, not only did he not know what had happened because it wasn´t clear

What person ever says what he really knows at a funeral? Eulogies bearing little or no resemblance to the deceased or to the facts are trotted out by people who are often bad actors, who though they know better, lie anyway. It´s almost acceptable behavior. But any truth about the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Christ Stevens and three other Americans appears to have been put six feet under as far as our current administration is concerned. (snip)Did they love Chris Stevens the way Brutus loved Caesar?

Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell was convicted yesterday on three counts of first-degree murder, not to mention a slew of other charges, including involuntary manslaughter (for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar), infanticide, and abortions past Pennsylvania´s legal limit. (snip)in a culture dominated by the 24-hour news cycle, it will be easy for Americans to consider the abortion issue closed with the Gosnell verdict. The pro-life movement´s challenge, as [Lila] Rose says, is to keep the American people focused on how common Gosnell-like practices are in the abortion industry, and on all the unsung victims abortion

Did Barack Obama in effect steal the election in 2012? It is impossible to know, of course, how matters would have played it if Americans had been told the truth about Benghazi. And what if the IRS had not hobbled conservative nonprofits (and therefore the movement) with extra scrutiny and consequent delay and expenses? But there can be no doubt that Obama helped himself by being able to claim that Al Qaeda was "on the run" and with an assist from Candy Crowley make Mitt Romney look bad on when he criticized Obama´s anti-terror policies.

The re-election of Barack Obama is the high water mark and the end of an era. The period 1960 to 2014 will go down in American history as the era of never-ending crusades leading to the decline and potential downfall of the United States. During this time frame America has been inundated with one cause after another. The essential civil rights movement and the tragically successful Viet Nam protests spawned numerous causes, among them: feminism, environmentalism, global warming, and gay rights. For each generation born after 1940 it has been a rite of passage

The Three Whistleblowers at the Benghazi hearing spoke softly, but with the emotional wallop of The Three Tenors. They told the truth, and it blasted like thunder through Obama´s tissue palace of lies. Listening to these strong, solemn men, I heard the sound of old America: a place of hardworking people who love their country and believe in something bigger than their own power. Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
