Don´t usually post before reading an article but I had to here.

If I read the word "historic" one more time I am going to go completely off my rocker. The fiscal cliff vote was historic only in the sense that it happened last week. I ate dinner at a Chinese restaurant last night, thats in the past too should I use the word historic to describe that meal?

Every action is not earth shattering or history altering, the term historic can only be added to an event decades after the fact when the events true impact on history is known.

Nixons opening of China, and his resignation are historic. His losing the election in 1960 or winning in 1968 are simply pedestrian facts.

the only thing this congress or administration has done that will rise to historic levels (in my opinion) is their complete loss of spending control. That "historic" accomplishment is going to haunt every decision of every congress for the next two generations, if not longer.

After reading this, Im willing to cut Boehner some slack. I knew Obama was an idealoge socialist, but I didnt realize that he was "this" delusional.

The media and Obama campaign perpertrated a fraud on the US electorate in 08, they double downed on the fraud in 2012. Unless and until the republican leadership get out in front of the voters, the dems will pull of another fraud in 2014 and 2016.

For John Boehner to be surprised at this makes me question his preparation and intelligence. If he doesn´t understand the person he is negotiating with, he is not likely to be successful. Think that President Obama´s writings, statements, and actions have been rather clear. I can´t understand why these comments by him would be a surprise.

Boehner is a boob. What every conservative knew from the beginning of the Keynon´s "historic" election, Boehner is only finding out after 4 years of "historic" deficits.

Boehner is a Washington elite and a very weak leader.

Now having read the article I too can see Boehner in a more favorable (if dim) light. We all knew Obama was an ideologue and we all knew he was naieve. What has caught all of us, and Boehner, off guard is the fact that he is also delusional. Delusional is the way only a child can be, or a narcisistic sociopath.

Governance has always been about compromise, and that is what every politician expects. Political hardball is just good business.

Obama only played at politician, he campaigns like one and he puts on a pretty good show for cameras and handpicked audiences but he did not train in politics, he trained as a :community organizer".

In that school there is a take no prisoners attitude where you never compromise, never bargain in good faith, never consider the other partys well being. If your winning means your opponents children are thrown into the street thats just gravy. Except now his opponents are us, the citizens of the United States regardless of political association.

Obama lives in a fantasy bubble, one where there really are no consequences for his actions and the very real people he hurts are only a shadowy and evil "Them". Such a pathetic figure in such a powerful position is a national shame.

Boehner is used to politicians wearing a mask, his mistake was believing that Obama was a politician.

In which alternate universe has Boehner been occupying these last 4 years to think Obama was a compromiser? Whew!

This is a good article and ought to be required reading for keyboard warriors those who think dealing with a highly ideological and newly re-elected president ought to be some sort of picnic.

The stark reality is that Obama is a dope, plain and simple. Everything attributed to him by the MSM has been produced by his legions of czars, communist, socialist and even criminal stooges. He merely guesses at where to "X" on the executive orders and dashes to the golf course or another 25 million dollar vacation. He is the perfect mirror of most of the American electorate.

Clearly we need a Speaker that is prepared to deal with an ideologue.

Actually there is both a spending problem and a revenue problem. At 16% of GDP, revenue is well below the postwar average of 19%. And spending at 25% is outtasight.

Mr. Boehner, The president can´t spend a dime without your say-so. Also, we absolutely do not have to increase the debt limit to pay our debt obligations.
