Obama´s Disarming Haste

According to the Washington Post´s Philip Rucker, President Obama is committed to moving quickly on gun violence legislation. Reported as good news, in truth this carefully projected haste and urgency ought to be regarded -- and would be reported, by a media that did not have a stake in leftist authoritarianism -- as the gravest warning sign. "A warning sign of what?" asks the scoffing useful idiot. "Of the end of even the pretense of liberal democracy, constitutional republicanism, or any other form of government answerable to the governed."

I´m trying to figure out how to become a low information voter so I can blend in and get access to free government money.I haven´t been able to force myself to watch MSNBC so I can become a first class low information person yet.

Maybe I need to buy a PBS tote bag to put my groceries in.With the way food inflation is,I don´t need a big bag anyway and I can save the planet the trouble of taking a 100,000 years to decompose a plastic bag.

Oh, please. This over-the-top language is not helping the side focused on retaining gun rights. Considering steps that would make it more difficult for the mentally ill to get hold of a gun is not the ´end of even the pretense of liberal democracy...."

Just last week in Dallas, a woman walked into a gun shop, purchased a gun, walked back to her car in front of the gun shop, and shot herself in the head. Not making it up; go read it in The Dallas Morning News. She had a decades-long history of depression, a mental illness. Her family and friends were devastated. Why can´t there be a brief waiting period? Why can´t people known to have serious mental illness be put on a list that at least requires them to meet a waiting period? How is that the end of the world? How is that threatening your right to guns if you don´t have any mental illness in your family?

Any gun regulation proposal needs to be confronted with the question: What would this have done to prevent Newton?

Regulation would not have prevented an Adam Lanza from obtaining guns illegally, as he did.

Just because I have pistols and rifles upstairs and downstairs in my house doesn ´t mean I´m going to go after my neighbors.

"...the tyrant may simply issue a decree, irrespective of anyone´s objections."

Can anyone honestly say they have not seen clear signs of repeated examples of the latter during these past four years?

Barak is making me crazy.

Guess I´ll have to turn in my guns.

First the glue gun, the nail gun and the screw gun.

I feel safer now.

While we are at it, I think we ought to get rid of knives. Remember Richard Speck who killed 6 student nurses with a knife years ago. Didn´t hear the call for getting rid of knives. What about cutting off the hands of those who strangle people to death. Off with their hands! Get rid of alcohol. Drunks kill more people than guns. As usual, Congress is taking up the wrong cause; they should be looking into our mental illness problem and get some of the mentally ill off the streets.

Disarming haste?
It´s his disquieting hate that worries me most.
Critical mass is nearing in the Alinskian strategy -- prepare for overt persecution.

What did we think all those shiny, new detention camps were for, anyway? And the millions of rounds of armor-piercing ammunition? Might as well start practicing your "moo" and "baa" inflections...

With all this talk about gun and ammo regulation, why doesn´t someone ask the government why they have purchased billions of rounds of hollow point bullets. Why invest in something they don´t intend to use, or do they intend to use them against the dis-armed citizens of the country?

Gun control is not about making us safer, it is about making us more easily ruled. If it were just about removing guns to make us safer, all these politicians would be traveling without armed guards.

It appears the Republican Party establishment and some conservative commentators have come up with another mistaken tactic to woo the low information and undecided voters. With the avalanche of scandals swirling around the Obama administration and the Democratic Party, the political message promoted by these politicians and pundits is that these scandals are the outcome of a government that has grown too large to control and should therefore be dramatically cut back.

The current abusive conduct by the IRS is breathtaking in its audacity. When you look at last Friday´s testimony Acting Commisioner Steven Miller there is a clear disconnect -- the doesn´t think anyone did anything illegal, unconstitutional, or even wrong. Apart from a stark posture of arrogance and negative body language, he represents a very large group of people we need to worry about. This guy is beyond zealotry -- he has gone straight to certainty that he is right, his actions are justified and he can´t be touched. He´s like Obama´s buddy Bill Ayers

After running an errand at the Courthouse, I decided to pop into the Barrister Bar and Bistro for a quick bite. The place was packed and Charlie, the maitre d´, shrugged his shoulders apologetically. "There´s a huge party here this afternoon, but I can seat you at the bar if you don´t mind." I didn´t mind and was happy to see that my favorite bartender, Joe, was at work, I pulled out USA Today and read until he was free: "After February 2010, the IRS didn´t approve a single Tea Party tax-exempt application until spring 2012

Lew asks Congress for debt increase,
says it’s ´not open to debate´

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

By all accounts, today´s college campuses grow more intolerant by the day. We move closer to the old Soviet Empire, where political dissidents risked the gulag for even joking about Marxism. In the U.S., however, the hate crimes concern anything that touches on race, ethnicity, gender differences, diversity, and sexuality (see here and here). Even an old-fashioned ethnic joke almost guarantees mandatory counseling. Skeptics need only look at the pervasiveness of campus speech codes, coerced sensitivity training, the mandatory injection of multicultural propaganda into courses, and other top-down censorship.

BALTIMORE — Trying to reset the agenda amid scandal in Washington, President Barack Obama turned his attention Friday to the economy and said lawmakers should spend every day resolute on how to help it grow and get people back to work. “Our focus cannot drift,” he said. After a week that put him on the defensive and consumed by a trio of political controversies, Obama left the turmoil behind on a short helicopter flight about 40 miles north to Baltimore. The city has had its share of tough times in its move from an industrial to service economy

Benghazi Narrative Shift
Was Perfectly Clintonian

"We´ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful Internet video that we had nothing do to with," said Hillary Clinton to the families of the four Americans killed at Benghazi and others gathered at a September 2012 memorial service. Her boss, President Barack Obama, had been reciting the same lie in one forum after another in the days following the September 11 attack on the American outpost in Benghazi. To give the lie credence, his Justice Department immured the producer of the video, a Coptic Christian named Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, in a West Texas prison.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.
