Stark Evidence of US,
British Naval Decline

Is it actually possible that, as you read this, the United States Navy has only one supercarrier battle group at sea? Read on - and be amazed. Look no farther than these two news items, both from today´s Sunday Times of London, to see the effect of two decades of shrinkage in the size of the United States Navy and the retreat of the Royal Navy from the high seas

At risk of a scolding from staff, let me repeat my reply on another post; when Obama is through with our military, he won’t need a Secretary of Defense.

I believe what the previous poster said is accurate. Obama is determined to keep cutting our military. I always thought a strong military was our best defense.

In the US, the gov´t has chosen to be the enemy of the Nation... and it´s principles.

Think about that.

And no, no other conclusion is supportable or rational.

And most Democrats thought he won the debate because he insulted Mitt about the things called aircraft carriers.

On top of this, they want to disarm the citizens. Think about that.

As a former Naval Officer, I am ashamed, but not surprised where our Navy has ended up. Too much time spent on indoctrinating the troops in political correctness, overhauling the combatants to become co-ed high seas dorms. Fighting strength and efficiency take a back seat to political correctness and lawyers. Pity. We are going the way of the Roman Empire.

If I´m not mistaken,Obama is going to go around the senate to disarm some of our nukes also, which have already fallen to neglect in the first place. Obama doesn´t like this country being a super pwer no matter what you´re talking about.

The left has always been obsessed with slashing the military to free up money for vote buying.

People are bashing Boehner but guess what,he´s the only person standing in the way of Obama looting the treasury for countless more billions.

Saw an article the other day that Obama owns 40% of thenational debt but they still blame Bush for it.

You have harry Reid saying sandy is worse than Katrina in order to get more pork through.I don´t know why we have to borrow more money to pay off flood insurance claims. If people want to live near the water they should contribute more to the fund.

With the privateers unconcerned with gay rights, ruinously expensive Great Green Fleet fuel boondoggles, suicidal "keep weapons unloaded until fired upon" rules of engagement, special accommodations for women, and all of the other top priorities of current military doctrine, they will provide far better protection than the "real" navies could.

My NIL in Haworth, England married into a family of proud British military men. They sadly tell her that the only thing the English care to have military anything now is for "show." Good photos for the Princes, great for pageantry for the tourists. VERY true. Who would have thought...

US Navy needs to transition from the super carrier with 65 aircraft, 5,600 personnel and 5-7 support warships to smaller, much more numerous drone ships with 150 to 250 drones of various sizes. Existing carrier task forces are far too expensive to operate while supporting too few planes for that expense. Unmanned drones have far greater over target capability, are stealthy, incredibly cheap in contrast to an F-18, don´t risk a pilot and can be controlled not from the ship but from Florida or the Pentagon. Drones have hastened the obsolescence of the carrier, but the Navy is still fighting an earlier war.

I used to think that our currency was backed by nothing of value. Recently I heard an opinion that our currency was backed by the free flow of oil. If you accept that as valid, what is the free flow of oil based on? The US military. I believe the evisceration of the military has been the goal of these criminals since the beginning.

#7 From another 30 year Navy man I could have not said it better. Where is the warrior ethos in the flag ranks of all our services? Gutless PC feminized, tail between their legs. If Obama stumbles us into a real war we stand a very good chance we WILL lose it. Anybody speak Chinese?

Hey, liberals! Obama thinks you are stupid. Yeah, he really does. He knew Benghazi was terrorism before he didn´t know it was terrorism. Addressing a question about Benghazi in his press conference Monday, May 13, 2013, Obama´s "logic" really made an impression: "The Day after it happened I acknowledged that this was an act of terrorism." (snip) Leaving behind Obama´s initial certitude about Benghazi having been a terror attack, not only did he not know what had happened because it wasn´t clear

What person ever says what he really knows at a funeral? Eulogies bearing little or no resemblance to the deceased or to the facts are trotted out by people who are often bad actors, who though they know better, lie anyway. It´s almost acceptable behavior. But any truth about the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Christ Stevens and three other Americans appears to have been put six feet under as far as our current administration is concerned. (snip)Did they love Chris Stevens the way Brutus loved Caesar?

Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell was convicted yesterday on three counts of first-degree murder, not to mention a slew of other charges, including involuntary manslaughter (for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar), infanticide, and abortions past Pennsylvania´s legal limit. (snip)in a culture dominated by the 24-hour news cycle, it will be easy for Americans to consider the abortion issue closed with the Gosnell verdict. The pro-life movement´s challenge, as [Lila] Rose says, is to keep the American people focused on how common Gosnell-like practices are in the abortion industry, and on all the unsung victims abortion

Did Barack Obama in effect steal the election in 2012? It is impossible to know, of course, how matters would have played it if Americans had been told the truth about Benghazi. And what if the IRS had not hobbled conservative nonprofits (and therefore the movement) with extra scrutiny and consequent delay and expenses? But there can be no doubt that Obama helped himself by being able to claim that Al Qaeda was "on the run" and with an assist from Candy Crowley make Mitt Romney look bad on when he criticized Obama´s anti-terror policies.

The re-election of Barack Obama is the high water mark and the end of an era. The period 1960 to 2014 will go down in American history as the era of never-ending crusades leading to the decline and potential downfall of the United States. During this time frame America has been inundated with one cause after another. The essential civil rights movement and the tragically successful Viet Nam protests spawned numerous causes, among them: feminism, environmentalism, global warming, and gay rights. For each generation born after 1940 it has been a rite of passage

The Three Whistleblowers at the Benghazi hearing spoke softly, but with the emotional wallop of The Three Tenors. They told the truth, and it blasted like thunder through Obama´s tissue palace of lies. Listening to these strong, solemn men, I heard the sound of old America: a place of hardworking people who love their country and believe in something bigger than their own power. (snip) But today, their America is forced to serve a different god: a cold, smiling man with a hollow heart and hands that get bloodier by the day.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care?
