| BEIRUT — In a rare public appearance on Sunday, Syrian President Bashar al Assad pledged to intensify his war against the “terrorists” challenging his rule even as he proposed a package of reforms aimed at ending the bloodshed engulfing Syria. Appearing weary but defiant as he addressed cheering supporters at the Opera House in downtown Damascus, Assad outlined suggestions for what he called a period of “transition”, in which a new government would be formed, a “national pact” would be drafted, and a referendum would be held.

The article´s last paragraph on the tyrant that Obama, Hillary and Pelosi viewed as the "reformer" could be changed to read:
"Yet although he appeared grayer and thinner than usual, Obama´s resolve was clearly undimmed. ´Under no circumstances will I forfeit my principles. I will not give up my powers, I will defend ObamaCare and I will continue as I always have,´ he said before the audience of reporters erupted in wild applause and chants of support."
This Shiite is about to hit the Sunni fan.

Aw, c´mon - - Assad is just a simple ophthalmologist whose only concern is his patients´ vision.
Of course in the case of his political opponents and Jews that means complete eye removal - - but - - he´s just trying to be himself.

Former News Corp president Peter Chernin has bid around $500 million for Hulu, the online video streaming service he helped create in 2007, according to two sources with knowledge of Hulu´s sale process. The website, jointly controlled by News Corp and Walt Disney Co, reached out to potential buyers in March after initially contemplating a deal in which one would buy out the other. It is not clear whether that transaction is still being contemplated.

After lengthy investigations, the Pentagon has determined that three Army generals committed misconduct in separate incidents, adding to an unusually long list of senior military commanders who have been censured over the past year.On Friday, defense officials confirmed that Army Maj. Gen. Ralph O. Baker, the commander of a strategic counterterrorism force on the Horn of Africa, was fired March 28 on charges of sexual misconduct. Two officials familiar with the case said Baker was investigated for allegedly groping a female civilian employee after he had been drinking.
