| A federal court has ruled that South Carolina was the prevailing party in the unnecessary Voter ID litigation, and therefore the Justice Department is liable for paying the state’s costs. South Carolina spent $3,500,000 to obtain federal court approval of the state’s Voter ID law as non-discriminatory under the Voting Rights Act. The lawsuit was made necessary only because of the political and ideological radicalism of Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez and his deputy Matthew Colangelo. SC is a lost cause state to the left but they didn´t want the idea of voter ID catching on anywhere else.To me,states have a right to regulate how elections are ran and an ID card for voting is a minor inconvenience,especially when you need an ID for a plethora of other routine things.
I don´t even understand what poverty or age has to do with not being able to get an ID when most states are willing to absorb the costs of digging up a birth certificate or whatever.
The DOJ is supposed to blindly enforce the law but their career staff are a bunch of left wing activists which shouldn´t be allowed in the first place.

Documents prepared by the career staff urged Perez and Colangelo to grant administrative approval to the South Carolina Voter ID law — but they refused. Their refusal was, in part, designed to energize a moribund political base heading into the 2012 election. The cost to the American taxpayers for their stunt will be significant. (emphasis added)
So these rah-rah cowboys are costing US a ton of money with their "energizing of a moribund political base"...

SC will never see a penny of this court ordered ruling. We will likely be awarded a brand new tax ´to pay for it´, and we all know what happens to any new tax. It never goes away.

I could bet that Perez and Colangelo will receive $75,000 bonuses for their demonrat voter assistance scam. Otherwise nothing will happen. Holder will call the WH, Barry will call Bernake, and Bernake will just print up some extra money to pay the bill.

Attorney General Eric Holder personally signed off on the warrant naming Fox News journalist James Rosen a “possible co-conspirator” in violation of the Espionage Act, Michael Isikoff reported yesterday. Which is sort of awkward, because Barack Obama also yesterday told the country (the whole country) that he didn’t want to criminalize reporting, and that he was going to ask his Justice Department to make sure not to do that anymore. Rosen wasn’t charged. In truth, the government never really intended on charging him. In what may have been the most important speech of his presidency, Obama said he would ask Congress to join him in efforts to “refine, and ultimately repeal,” the Authorization to Use Military Force passed three days after 9/11. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”
