The Federal Election Commission has fined President Barack Obama´s 2008 campaign $375,000 for an assortment of reporting violations. FEC documents that have not yet been released publicly detail the violations, which include accepting contributions in excess of federal limits, incorrectly reporting the dates of contributions and failing to properly report contributions of $1,000 or more during the final days of the campaign. An audit uncovered the reporting violations. The Obama campaign agreed to correct the errors and pay the fine, according to the FEC documents.

Notice that the $30 million in untraceable prepaid credit cards is not mentioned.

That´ll learn ´em! /s No one in the Dem party nor anyone who voted for him are going to waste their time concerned about whether Obama won playing by the rules or not. Rules are for suckers. Just win baby. The low info voter dosen´t care about this. They vote Dem, then go vote for American Idol and Dancing with the Stars--to them there is no difference.

Only fined $375,000.00 ????? The Dimeocraps can pay that out of their Stimulus Stash.. If it had been on the Rpub side their would have been issued Jail Terms plus Big Fines...The Feds would have had to BUILD a couple more Country Club Prisons.

We are supposed to believe the campaign was audited and one tiny irregularity was found. Some underling transposed a number or two. This small fine will balance the books on this small event and restore our faith in the honesty of the democrat party.

It ONLY TOOK over FOUR YEARS. Just think that the statute of limitations would have run out in a few more months. Manoh man, the fec is really on the ball, just like any thing else run by democRATS.

Massachusetts Senate hopeful Gabriel Gomez is outraged at how his Democratic contender, Rep. Ed Markey, is portraying him, accusing Ed Markey of low-blow politics that cross ethical lines. “You know, I’ve got four young kids and they gotta sit there and gotta see an ad with their dad, who’s a SEAL, who served honorably, talk to anybody I served with … and for him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, to like put me up there next to bin Laden, he’s just gotta be called what he is. That simple,” said Mr. Gomez, the GOP nominee

Politico reporter Jonathan Martin is jumping from the six-year-old politics site to become the national political correspondent for the New York Times. A release from the New York Times says this is a big move: The job is a storied and special one at The Times, and has been home to such giants as Robin Toner, Adam Nagourney, Rick Berke, and, of course, R. W. Apple. As big a move as it is for the New York Times, it may be double for Politico, for Martin offers the sort of reporting that the site badly needs.

We’ve seen a number of disastrous appearances by administration figures and a couple outstanding ones from State Department whistleblowers. Here’s some tips for those who follow: 1. Don’t lie. As I pointed out earlier today, Eric Holder both in writing to a court and in testimony to the House created some real questions about his role in the James Rosen subpoena. Other conservatives spotted a more egregious statement (if in fact he signed off on the affidavit): “In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material, this is not something I’ve ever been involved in,

President Barack Obama told graduating midshipmen at the Naval Academy on Friday that the nation needs them to "project power across the oceans" and vowed to continue to fight for military resources for their missions in the face of deep federal budget cuts. Speaking through a cold and building rain, the president told the 1,047 graduates and nearly 36,000 attendees gathered for the Naval Academy´s 163rd commencement that they represent an institution that has maintained the nation´s trust at a time when Americans have lost faith in other organizations. "I cannot promise you a life of comfort and ease,

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- President Barack Obama, referring to sex assaults in the military, reminded U.S. Naval Academy graduates Friday honor is "what you do when nobody´s looking." Obama, delivering the commencement address at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md., reminded the new officers "the misconduct of some can have effects that ripple far and wide." He urged the graduates to do four things: "Live with integrity, and speak with honesty, and take responsibility and demand accountability. We need your honor and we need your courage." Americans´ trust in public institutions has been falling recently because of actions by

GREENBELT, Md.- NASA released a dramatic and revealing image of an erupting Alaskan volcano Thursday taken by astronauts aboard the International Space Station. The photograph is of the Pavlof Volcano, located in the Aleutian Arc about 625 miles southwest of Anchorage, the space agency said. The oblique perspective of the photo taken from the ISS when it was about 475 miles south-southeast of the volcano reveals the three dimensional structure of the ash plume, often obscured by the top-down view of most remote sensing satellites, NASA said.

CHICAGO -- The Obama administration has chosen a private attorney and former federal prosecutor who helped send former Illinois Gov. George Ryan to prison for corruption to head the U.S. attorney´s office in Chicago, Illinois´ senators announced Thursday. Zachary Fardon, 46, would replace Patrick Fitzgerald, who stepped down last summer to enter private practice. Fitzgerald rose to national prominence during more than a decade in the office and successfully convicted two Illinois governors, including Ryan. The U.S. Senate must confirm President Barack Obama´s nomination of Fardon. Fitzgerald issued a statement to The Associated Press calling Fardon "a terrific choice,"

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
