Al Jazeera inherits Current
TV´s distribution woes

Al Jazeera´s announced plans to establish a new U.S. cable news channel via the purchase of Current TV isn´t even 48 hours old and already it finds itself in a vicious battle to retain distribution rights. Al Jazeera´s acquisition of Current TV is basically a pay-for-distribution play. The Qatar-backed network plans to replace Current TV in the more than 40 million homes where it is currently distributed with its own news network, tentatively dubbed Al Jazeera America. The new network´s success is predicated on maintaining, if not increasing, that level of distribution.

There are no distribution woes here. If they have to pay the cable companies to be carried it should not be a problem for arabs with deep pockets.

The day that Al Jazeera shows up on Time Warner is the day I´m getting a dish.

Let´s see...An ´Al Gore´ production...and nobody expected a stellar level of BS to be attached to it?

File under dual heading - ´Most Amusing!´ and ´Go figure´...

Al Jazeera will be real competition for MSNBC for the America-hating, Jew-hating demographic. So instead of swinging their program more towards sanity, I´ll bet MSNBC will skew even further leftwards, if that is possible. I guess they could always dig up Stalin and Pol Pot for host duties.

Does this mean that Al Jazeera will conduct studies on how carbombs contribute to global warming?

Says a lot about where Al Gore stands. Not with the United States that´s obvious.

Somewhere I read that Time Warner Cable has already cancelled its agreement to carry Al Jazeera Current with Algore´s traitorous sale.

Heck, if Algore had been around in WW2, he´s had sold the channel to Toyko Rose.

Let´s hope ATT U-Verse is close behind.

It´s on my Comcast cable system. One twisted propaganda documentary after another.

I don´t think that a dish will help, #2. We have one due to there being no cable out here in the boonies. We have DirecTv and the Current channel is part of the basic package. You get it whether you want it or not. I´m going to contact DirecTV and ask about getting it removed. Maybe if enough of us complain....

Al Jazeera has nothing to worry about. They know they have their Muslim brother in their corner, Barack H. Obama.

Not to worry... I´m sure the totalitarian-lovers at Comcast will continue to carry Current.

Al Gore ripped of Al Jazeera! HA ha! (nelson laugh)

you know, on the bright side, Al Jazeera isn´t nearly as pro-terrorist or anti-US as MSNBC is.

I had no idea Current was on Comcast Digital Cable until I just looked on their list of channels. Never have watched it and have no intention of watching it now, so am not going to panic about it. We have about 10-15 channels we watch plus movies, know the channel #s, and couldn´t tell you what the others are if I had to. I imagine most cable companies will drop it when their present contracts expire.

The enemy is here and he is Al Gore.

Gore´s dad sold out to the commies, so what´s a greedy next-gen traitor to do? Selling out to the international wing of the hate-America Democrat Party! No doubt a thrill ran down his leg.

The facts just keep coming out of Ohio. It is hard to comprehend what they went through, those young women. What they felt while trapped by a monster through those lost years of their early adulthood is almost impossible to fathom. How did they cope? How did they get through each day? A close friend of mine was sexually abused as a teenaged girl. It was a man she knew. It lasted for years. She never told anyone — not her mom, not her friends. She didn’t tell because, like so many women who are abused, she blamed herself.

Journalists gasp and growl whenever prosecutors issue lawful subpoenas ordering them to divulge their confidential sources or to turn over potential evidence, such as notes, video outtakes or other records. It’s an attack on the First Amendment, It’s an attack on the First Amendment, It’s an attack on the First Amendment, journalists and their lawyers chant. Those chants were heard this week, as it was revealed that Department of Justice prosecutors had seized two months’ worth of records from 20 office, home and cell phone lines used by Associated Press journalists in their investigation into the Yemen underwear-bomber leaks.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Let’s see if we can unravel one of the great mysteries of the Obama Administration. The latest invocations of the Incompetence Defense from President Obama, Eric Holder, and now the departing Acting IRS Commissioner (hilariously described by the Associated Press as “ousted,” even though he’s leaving exactly when he was originally scheduled to depart, in June) hold that all of these super-genius leaders found out about various outrages by watching the news, along with the rest of us. They have no idea what their subordinates do every day, until it blows up into a huge scandal on the evening news, and that’s why they should be left in charge of everything.

Rep. Former House speaker Newt Gingrich, speaking to NPR on Friday, warned his party about overreaching in their approach to the trio of controversies President Obama is facing. While Republicans need to be relentless in their response, Gingrich urged a focus on facts. “I think we overreached in ’98,” Gingrich recalled, quipping, “How’s that for a quote you can use?” Which is not to say Republicans should not be persistent. “They need to be calm and factual,”

The commander in chief of the American armed forces today forced a violation of Marine Corps regulations, so he wouldn’t get wet. According to Marine Corps regulation MCO P1020.34F of the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations chapter 3, a male Marine is not allowed to carry an umbrella while in uniform. There is no provision in the Marine Corps uniform regulation guidelines that allows a male Marine to carry an umbrella. Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
