So close to Christmas and the GOP House couldn´t find "three wise men" to block him.

GOP will lose in 2014 by big margin, as GOP dissolves under Boehner´s leadership.

We are so screwed.

The same people threatening to boycott the 2014 election are the people who stayed home in 2008 and 2012 and the people that brought us Akin, O´Donnell, Buck, Angle, and Mourdock. They´ve helped give us 2 terms of Dear Leader, they´ve delivered 5 Senate seats to the Democrats and now they threaten to stay home in 2014. Good grief. Wake up and smell the coffee.

"Dingy Harry" is amusing, "Filthy Harry" is more like it.

Keeping Boehner is very sad indeed.

I am as sick to my stomach with Baynurds re-election as I was with Poi Boi´s repeat win. The only thing him and Zippy have in common is that they both smoke way too many cigarettes, and I hate smokers.

He cried again today.

5 - I don´t stay home, I vote. However, in 2014 I won´t vote for a republican. What might happen if a Democrat wins, they might vote to increase taxes and increase spending?

That´ll sure be different. It is time for a third party.

It could have been worse, Nancy Pelosi could have won. I don´t get it. I thought the speaker was chosen from the leading party. I also didn´t know they didn´t have to be a member of congress. How dumb is that considering the speaker is second in command to replace the prez.

Who does he think he is to dismiss the people´s choices for any reason?! Sounds as if he´s saying, ´´If you don´t follow me, get out.´´ The House could have chosen better.

Well, those who opposed Boehner did not unite behind a credible alternative, and none came forward. So the outcome was to be expected.

And I know most posters will disagree with me on this, but I don´t think replacing JB would have made any positive difference. A more ideological Speaker would have had the nearly impossible task of keeping the (so-called) moderate members in line while being deep fried by the Democrat/Media complex. (Remember a guy named Newt?) We as a nation are in dire straits because we´ve lost the culture, our religious heritage and the education system. Those who insist on looking for a one man, magic bullet solution to this mess are going to be continually disappointed and frustrated.

More disappointment from the Republican party. The stakes could not be higher and yet the Republicans continue to bring a knife to a gun fight. The ruling class, and I am talking about Republicans here, have no intention of going to battle when they have the same spending addiction as the dems. Boehner has proven he has no gift for political strategy, he has zero ability in political messaging, and has no stomach for the fight that needs to waged against the enemies of freedom so of course, he was re-elected as speaker. When you want the status quo, he is your man. The Founding Fathers could not be more proud, I am sure, to see a group of weaklings surrender the Republic so easily.

No disappointment here. In order to be disappointed, you have to expect something. And I don´t expect ANYTHING from this lot of losers.

Today I will turn my back on the Republican Party. As "Ronald Magnus" once said..."I didn´t leave them, they left me." Sad, so very sad....

+The real problem is the vast middle class in this country doesn´t have a lobbyist up there fighting for them.Virtually everybody else does,so you see certain people protected from taxes and blockage of spending cuts.If something comes under a threat,they just make another donation and it goes away.

The real story should be on how big a liar Obama was when he said he´s going to get rid of lobbyists.There hasn´t been a president,at least in my lifetime that´s been in lobbyists pockets,more than Obama.

Obama has two groups of lobbyists,the fringe base wanting handouts and the big money grabbers who simply get grants for breathing.
Republicans can´t promise people free stuff which puts them in one hell of a disadvantage. More and more people are saying if they´re doing it, why not me.This is disassembling the cores of what built this country.

Liberals are attacking this country from every angle possible and unless you´re a very inquisitive person,you don´t have a clue on what´s going on.

The left knows they´re doing a horrendous job running this country,wherever you see a liberal,you see red ink. To distract attention,they´re piling on republicans at every turn to make them look worse and everybody´s falling for it.

No more donations to the RNC. The Tea Party is our only hope. Boehner is unware the nation is in a cold civil war.

Amen, #5 and I DO agree with you #14. When one of the mythical-great leaders of Conservatives steps up in the House OR Senate, there may be a different outcome. In the meantime, at least John Boehner has the intestinal fortitude to TRY to cut spending. The rest of the nit-pickers, not so much...

The article mentions Mark Kirk from Il. who has the "Obama seat". So strange that such a young man would have a stroke, add to that other young men, Tim Russert, Andrew Breitbard. Very puzzling.

If the Republican House members were serious about saving the Republic, they would have done what was necessary to provide Leadership to do the job.
Boehner´s heavy handed removal of chairmanships from conservatives was abuse of power. I guess other House members are more than willing to sell their souls.

Blaming those who did not vote for Romney is like blaming those who did not place bets on the broken down nag for its loss. Put up a winner and I bet there will be plenty of votes for him. Romney lost because Romney failed to attract enough votes. My guess is that if we put up a similar candidate we will see a similar result. My guess is that if we again fail to learn that lesson we will be once again blaming those who did not vote for our candidate for his loss.
Sorry to see Boehner win again. He seems like a good number 2 guy but not a leader. I may be wrong but he sure got outplayed in his first term. He had two years to get out in front and he simply got out maneuvered. Oh well, maybe this time.
