| Charlie Hebdo, the long-running French satirical magazine, has published what it’s website calls a “halal” comic book on the life of Islamic prophet Mohammed. The publication of the book, which is selling for 6 euros on the Charlie Hebdo website, is just the latest in a long line of provocative moves from the publication. For example, after re-publishing Danish cartoons of Mohammad in 2011 the magazine’s Paris offices were firebombed.

Comments: This is civil disobedience of the Islamic kind. Any retaliation should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the (not Sharia) law.

I am always puzzled why a recitation of the life actions of Muhammed is not sufficient to destroy the faith of his followers. Any body up for explaining?

Hi No. 5,
I´m sure you´re right. If you want to cheat on your wife, follow Muhammad, and cheat on her with three other wives. If you wanna be a serial killer, follow Muhammad, and kill the infidels left and right, feeling quite righteous about it. If you want to rape and pillage, including little kids, just imitate Muhammad.
Scary isn´t it? But our media wants us only to have a sanitized view of the religion of peace, while they continue to rampage around the world in dozens of nations. When a person says they are for Islam, they are telling you they are for murder, rape, polygamy, pedophilia, piracy, and thefts of all kinds. We need to realize who we are talking to when we meet these people. They aren´t good people.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is spending millions to attack Sen. Kelly Ayotte for opposing gun-control legislation Bloomberg likes. Bloomberg says tougher gun laws will reduce gun homicides. Has he ever compared his city’s gun murder rate with New Hampshire’s? New York City’s gun homicide rate has fallen to 4 per 100,000, very good for a large American city. Boston’s rate is 6.2, Washington, D.C.’s 19, and New Orleans’ a stunning 62.1 (Snip) New Hampshire’s gun homicide rate was .53 percent last year.

Well here’s another scandal ready for the Obama administration. It was revealed today that the National Security Agency is currently collecting the telephone records of millions of US customers of Verizon. This top secret order was issued in April. The order, a copy of which has been obtained by the Guardian, requires Verizon on an "ongoing, daily basis" to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its systems, both within the US and between the US and other countries. The document shows for the first time that under the Obama administration the communication records

I am proud of Sen. Kelly Ayotte for her courage in voting for legislation that would address the criminal misuse of firearms by prohibited persons. She could have taken the easy way out and voted for ineffective bills that sounded good to the media and anti-gun crowd, but which would not have addressed the root causes and which would not have prevented another Sandy Hook tragedy. Instead, she resisted severe political pressure and did the right thing, voting for measures that would actually help and voting against measures that just sounded good, but which would not help.

Like most states in the country, New Hampshire is having a difficult time answering the question about whether to expand Medicaid coverage. For the last decade, politicians of both parties have made no attempt to expand Medicaid coverage in the state. With the federal government dangling some initial money for the program, some are tempted, but unsure. Today, with so many unanswered questions, policymakers should avoid a rush to judgment and just say, "maybe."

With Washington gripped by a trio of exploding scandals this week – from Benghazi to government spying on news outlets to thug tactics by the Internal Revenue Service – Senate Democrats seem to be hoping that if they just yell loud enough then voters will overlook a key role they played in at least one of them. (Snip) Over the last three years, Democratic senators repeatedly and publicly pressured the IRS to engage in the very activities that they are only now condemning today. At the same time, Republicans repeatedly and publicly warned against this abuse of government power

BELCHERTOWN – Shortly after midnight Tuesday, seven people were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir. State Police say the five men and two women are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, and “cited their education and career interests” for being in the area. The men told police they were chemical engineers and recent college graduates. The Quabbin, in Belchertown, is one of the country’s largest man-made public water supplies.

CONCORD - Representatives of the hospitality industry are expected to turn out in force today to support a Senate proposal that would block state tax collectors from using tips to calculate a business owner´s tax bill. (Snip) For a profitable restaurant, the change would increase the deduction against the business profits tax, and could be a wash. But for an unprofitable or break-even business, the change would mean a significant increase in taxes.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
