Give Up On The Constitution?
The Political Left Already Has

Law: For many, the Constitution is the barrier that blocks government from trampling a free people. Yet many on the political left see it as a hurdle to their ambitions. Consider the constitutional law professor who wants to kill it. The headline of Louis Michael Seidman´s op-ed in the Sunday New York Times was "Let´s Give Up on the Constitution." The message from the Georgetown professor of constitutional law is that the Constitution is "archaic" and "idiosyncratic," and even has within it "downright evil provisions." Naturally, Seidman dredges up slavery and the "white propertied men" who

Many nations have constitutions but only one seem to recognize an inherent constant in human nature - that it is inherently corrupt and therefore, any governing power is predisposed to tyranny - and takes steps to check its excesses in government by placing a well-thought out system of checks & balances. It also has foresight to allow for amendments that are just and reasonable.

Professor Seidman may be smart but he is an unwise fool to want to throw off the restraints of the Constitution to yield to the caprise of a corrupt group of Chicagocrat politicians like Obama, Reid & Pelosi. He is also a shortsighted fool because Liberals won´t always have the upper hand & whatever supra-constitutional power like restricting speech and right to assemble peacefully can just as easily be turned against the Left.

I swore a "blood oath" to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against ALL ENEMY´S, both foreign and domestic." I invite the "political left" to test me.......

And, on the first day the US Senate convenes Friday?,they review/may change their rules. So today Sens. Whitehouse,Merkley,Udall of NM & Cardin explained how they intend to change the filabuster rules and to change the rule which requires 60 votes to 51 votes. This is a serious thing folks and would make the Senate just like the House. A simple majority. We are losing the Constitution folkes.

We are willing to fight for the right of ALL opinions to be expressed in the marketplace of ideas and yet the left consistently suppresses dissenting opinions. One need not be a highly judgmental ´church lady´ to see who is on the side of truth and wisdom.

If The Constitution is repealed, do the Articles of Confederation go back in effect?

These guys said it best.
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. ...
The above quote has become known in recent years as ´Jefferson´s reset button,´ meaning that Jefferson and most of the Framers of the Constitution believed that since government--any government--has the tendency to become oppressive as time progresses, true patriots must be willing to engage in the tactic of last resort in order to preserve liberty.
That ´last resort,´ of course, is deadly force.
Americans in recent years have become too comfortable and satisfied in their ignorance to recognize that sentiment as one of the most cherished and truly American concepts we have. Most Americans may even be shocked to discover that Thomas Jefferson said such a thing and consider such a notion to be ´treasonous.´
Yet the Founders believed that traitors and tyrants have a penchant for slithering into positions in government unnoticed. There they engage in a covert, patient, and insidious course of action to gradually shift the government away from its core Constitutional principles.
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined." -- Patrick Henry, Virginia´s Ratification convention, 1788
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people´s minds." -- Samuel Adams
"I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." -- Thomas Jefferson in a letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush, September 23, 1800. Inscribed in the Jefferson Memorial.

I want an amendment that reads something like "Congress shall make no law which results in wealth redistribution." Alternatively, I would like an amendment that reads something like "Congress shall make no law which has any similarity to Karl Marx´s Communist Manifesto." If we had that second one, we could restore most of our freedoms lost simply because our system is far too similar to the communist manifesto (ever since Woodrow Wilson).

How may times have Obama & his CZars violated the constitution? They don´t have to repeal it... just ignore it.

Rather than a massive bloodbath, why don´t the Freedom seekers form a seperate nation out of the 23 states that want to secede?

Give the peeps 90 days to move from freedom states to slavery states... then lock the borders to anyone who isn´t bringing value to the new nation.

We need to do it soon... before there is no constitution & Supremes are useless.

The "ideas" of the Left and the Constitution are polar opposites. Of course the Left hates the Constitution - it always has, always will. Precisely why they have to constantly lie about their intentions and their supposed patriotism. On the Shiny Unicorn Road to totally enforced "equality", the Constitution is their immovable roadblock. They loathe it.

The problem is that Republicans do nothing more than shrug their shoulders now at violations and even grant the Left the sanction of "good intentions". A clear breach of Obama´s oath to "protect and defend" was his eye-popping appointment of Van Jones, an America-hating communist, to a position of power. Van Jones was shamed out of the appointment, but Obama - the real culprit - got off without a wrist slap. Incidents like this pile up, and before long violating the intent and/or letter of the Constitution is "the new normal" no longer calling for the tedious process of impeachment. One gets the feeling these days that if Obama decreed himself an automatic third and forth term, the GOP response would merely be "Gee, but, whatever!".

I do not view the willful and wanton shredding and circumventing of the US Constitution as "giving up" on it.
Big difference.

War On Terror: As jihadists bomb Boston, behead a soldier in London and firebomb police in Sweden, President Obama has decided America´s actions have offended them and it´s time to retreat. In arguably the weakest national security speech by a commander in chief, Obama denied Thursday that our terrorist enemy is inspired by Islam — while at the same time appeasing Islamic critics by apologizing for drone strikes and agreeing to throttle back on such precision bombings, and close down the terrorist prison at Guantanamo. He vowed to wind down further military actions in the war on terror,

The Dots Already Lead To

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

Press Freedom: The president worries about the "chilling effect" of leak investigations as his attorney general signs the warrant labeling a Fox News reporter as a violator of the Espionage Act. The hypocrisy is breathtaking. ´I am troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable," President Obama said with a straight face in a speech Thursday at the National Defense University. "Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs." Indeed, investigative reporting should not be a criminal offense — just ask Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, whose digging unearthed Watergate.

First Amendment: Even Barack Obama´s cheerleaders are gagging at the latest news of spying on reporters. But will they also understand that this is just part of a much broader attack on freedom? The president told Ohio State graduates three weeks ago to tune out those who warn that "tyranny is always lurking just around the corner." Since then — pardon our paranoia — the news has been thick with warnings. First was the revelation that the Internal Revenue Service had been targeting conservative groups for extra scrutiny. Next came the news that the Department

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”
