A 2013 Conservative Call to Arms
American Thinker, by Rob Cunningham

Original Article

Posted By:M2, 1/2/2013 8:45:55 AM

In 2013, conservatives can offer no greater tribute of respect to our Founding Fathers and our fellow citizens than to resolve, from this day forward, to relentlessly expose, ridicule, deride, mock and publicly shame arrogant progressives in a manner that, for the first time in our adult lifetimes, communicates this one undeniable founding truth: America was never supposed to be this way. The progressive left´s ultimate weapon of choice in emasculating America´s strength has clearly and undeniably been outed as radical debt accumulation.

Comments:
The writer further talks about "combat skills", about which I completely agree. The GOP have never been street-fighters. That must change.

Water seeks its own level. Freedom leads to wealth, then to envy. Always. Then you never get elected by taking away stuff. My point? It is in our genes. ALL free men/countries will inevitably succumb. Is collapse a better term?

Oh, I have been mocking seething socialist druids for years and welcome 2013 as the year liberals are driving the bus (Year of the Snake).

I prefer heavy sarcasm. It´s fun when liberals don´t catch on (being taught in public schools can be a challenge).

I also like just simply using their own words and watching them react when they think I came up with it.

right. well dont expect much from the Repugs.

Always amazed conservatives keep voting for Repugs and keep getting dissappointed.

The Republican Party is Not a "conservative" party any more ( Bushes, Dole, McCain, Romney). They can only be considered "conservative" if you define that term as not doing any thing new or different.

Next cave-in for republicans is the debt ceiling. Bet on it.

The conservatives would prefer to destroy our country in order to save it.

Reply 7 - Posted by: Cleanhousein2012, 1/2/2013 10:07:47 AM     (No. 9094545)

#6 - versus simply destroying the country as is happening now with the Dems and RINOs?

#6 I want to see action in my lifetime. Destruction is well on its way, but the frog is being boiled slowly so people put up with it. Let´s hasten the process. Why do you think the dims want to take away all the guns?

Reply 9 - Posted by: CentralFLMom, 1/2/2013 10:40:55 AM     (No. 9094602)

Thomas Jefferson predicted this would happen, that is why he proscribed that the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants.
Now is that time!

Reply 10 - Posted by: curious1, 1/2/2013 10:52:18 AM     (No. 9094632)

#1, thus a representative republic rather than a democracy - unfortunately enemies of the republic changed the selection rules of reps and senators, allowing something more akin to democracy to function - it just took it longer to get here than a pure democracy.

The Redcoats are here. To arms! to arms!
The sickness pervades all of society.

We somehow need to rekindle the TEA Party anger at, and distrust of, all incumbents, who have just condemned America to insolvency.

We need to follow the sage advice of Howard Beale from the movie Network, who said, “I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, stick your head out, and yell, ´I´M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I´M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!´...Things have got to change. But first, you´ve gotta get mad!...”

After months of demands from Republicans in Congress, the White House has released emails related to what the administration said in the days after the terrorist attack in Benghazi. The emails confirm the ABC News report that the so-called "talking points" written by the CIA on the attack underwent extensive revisions – 12 versions – and that substantial changes were made after the State Department expressed concerns.

When a Tennessee lawyer asked the IRS for tax-exempt status for a mentoring group that trained high school and college students about conservative political philosophy, the agency responded with a list of 95 questions in 31 parts, including an ultimatum for a list of everyone the group had trained, or planned to train. ´Provide details regarding all training you have provided or will provide,´ the IRS demanded. ´Indicate who has received or will receive the training and submit copies of the training material.´

Gold Investors Exit
Amid Price Collapse

The biggest story on global financial markets today is the collapse of gold and silver prices. Gold is down more than $90 an ounce since Friday – a fall of about 7 percent. The price drop comes on top of last week’s 4.7 percent tumble. Silver prices tumbled 8 percent, or $24 an ounce. Copper is also falling. The reasons for the plunge are linked to the recent rise in the stock market, the slow, steady improvement of the US economy and the recent strength of the dollar.(snip) Last week Goldman Sachs issued a report, predicting gold prices would tumble. More volatility is expected in the days to come.

Boehner tells ABC´s "This Week" that the two have a good relationship and that they´re "open with each other ... honest with each other." But the Ohio lawmaker says they´re trying to bridge some big differences.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event. So what did we learn? 1. He has full confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who purportedly recused himself (whenever) without putting it in writing (whatever). When asked about the untrammeled snooping on Associated Press reporters and editors,

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
