You first, John. Boehner is an enabler of one half of the Democrats´ tax and spend road to ruin. So they just keep on spending. The real choice is not complex: We can cut spending or go bankrupt. Since no one in Washington is capable of cutting spending of their own volition, the Republicans have decided to help Obama loot the more productive members of our economy and then go bankrupt. Super.

If nothing had been done, spending would have been cut--anonymously and irresponsibly, but cut nonetheless. Tax rates would have gone up precipitously, and painfully, on most Americans, thereby setting the stage for Republicans to run on tax relief in 2014 and tax reform in 2016. Instead, we are going to stop spending the old-fashioned way: by running out of people dumb enough to lend us money. We literally would have been better off if John and Mitch and their GOP cloak room buddies had done nothing. They are worse than useless.

Time to replace him with an actual Conservative.

What this tells me is that Boehner is not the wuss he´s painted to be. As for "caving", I believe that this isn´t the hill Boehner wanted to die on, for pragmatism´s sake, but is going to toughen up on the rest of this Administration´s attempts to marginalize or even destroy the Republican brand. Boehner needed to create the impression that the GOP is not to blame for the massive tax hikes that would have kicked in at midnight. He and the GOP need breathing room for the more important challenges ahead and this is it.

Now is the time for Tea Party caucus members to toughen up when the debt ceiling rolls around. If the GOP hopes to survive as a Party, at least now they have time to regroup and make peace with Tea Party people.

As for what we should be doing as a Party right now, if GOP congressmen are not at this moment furiously writing entitlement cut suggestions, complete with stats, to throw back in Obama´s face next time he pulls this sh**, we deserve to go belly up.

Boehner should have told him (and us), in front of those ´multiple sources´, exactly why he was making that comment, although Reid knew the answer.
