| Welcome to the bottom of the fiscal cliff. With the failure of Congress and the White House to meet their self-imposed deadline, the nation fell over the cliff just as the ball fell in Times Square. And yet, despite all of the dire warnings, no one looks particularly squished. That´s because Washington doesn´t operate according to Earth logic. It´s like when Wile E. Coyote steps off a falling boulder at just the right moment to be able to walk away from the impact unscathed. Or perhaps he lands on a trampoline. Of course, in such situations he´s usually then

FTA: "With the failure of Congress and the White House to meet their self-imposed deadline, the nation fell over the cliff..."
Just like most things dRATS, their dire predictions are only meant to scare children and the weak. If the economic world was ending, it, like a nuclear weapon, would be raining down on them, as well.
If the GOP can´t see these same games, different variant played on them in Congress, move aside and let the Tea Party put in some real fiscal conservatives.

Let´s not get carried away here. Biden is a complete and utter buffoon. He doesn´t have the brainpower to run a small deli. For God´s sake, the Hollywood braindead celebrities are looking like Albert Einstein in comparison to Biden.
We have to keep calling it as it is. He´s a certified moron. I wouldn´t trust him to wash my car. Presidential? Please.

Well, in the "pretend" world of liberals, there is no such thing as a "real" deadline. There is no such thing as a "real" disaster. Just opportunities to style in front of fawning TV talking heads. The nation could be all gone, reduced to smoking ashes except for a few blocks around the capitol and the idiots in Washington would still be pushing each other out of the camera shot.

The reason it was the Senates job is because the House passed a perfectly wonderful bill to deal with all of this last summer and it has been sitting on Harry Reid´s desk since then. After the refusal of GOP House members to accept Plan B last week Speaker Boehner said the Senate needed to respond to the summer bill sent by the House.

Biden may not be the brightest bulb - but neither is Barry. The key difference between the two however is that Biden has few of the Narcissistic disorders which plague Barry. You cannot negotiate with someone who confuses himself with the deity.

I´m tired of this so-called "fiscal cliff." The deal was struck in exchange for obscene increase in the debt limit in 2011. Onerous tax increases and spending cuts (especally to Defense) if these asshats in Washington couldn´t come up with a plan to fix our finances. They had 18 months. They failed.
Meanwhile Obama kept spending, Reid refused to bring a budget to a vote, and obstructed all attempts by the House to try and fix things. And the Republicans got blamed. Our hapless presidential candidate got lambasted because he told the truth about the 47% who don´t pay their "fair share" (they pay nothing).
What a bunch of losers - a POX on all their houses.

If this crashes the way it seems it must, I want to see the propaganda ministries that created this new world, burning. I don´t think I´ll live to see it, but there can be no return of America´s greatness without real truth, real reform in media and actual accountability in government. Otherwise they will continue to destroy us and enrich themselves.

An official Internal Revenue Service (IRS) organizational chart of the Tax Exempt & Government Entities division from February 2011 offers a more complete picture of the authority Lois Lerner--the now-removed IRS director of the tax-exempt unit--and Sarah Hall Ingram--presently tasked with overseeing the implementation of Obamacare--held as the IRS scheme to politically target conservative groups was hatched. As the above chart taken from an official IRS PowerPoint presentation confirms, Lois Lerner, who yesterday pleaded the fifth and refused to answer questions, was second only to Deputy Commissioner Joseph H. Grant and Commissioner Sarah Hall Ingram

A series of letters suggests that senior IRS official Lois Lerner was directly involved in the agency’s targeting of conservative groups as recently as April 2012, more than nine months after she first learned of the activity. Lerner, the director of the IRS exempt organizations office in Washington, D.C., signed cover letters to 15 conservative organizations currently represented by the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) between in March and April of 2012. The letters, such as this one sent to the Ohio Liberty Council on March 16, 2012, informed the groups applying for tax-exempt status that the IRS

You can always rely on the administration of Barack Obama, a former constitutional-law lecturer (or as his résumé-inflating fans put it, “professor”), to do the sleazy thing when it comes to the Constitution the president is sworn to defend. Thus, the performance on Wednesday of Lois Lerner, chief of the Obama IRS’s Conservative Harassment Division, before the House oversight committee. There’s an old scam criminal defendants occasionally pull. They give a bit of exculpatory direct testimony – just enough to gaze plaintively at the jurors and swear, cross-their-hearts, that they are pure as the driven snow. Then

The woman at the center of the IRS scandal refused to testify to Congress on Wednesday, but House Republicans said Lois Lerner botched her attempt to invoke her right against self-incrimination and said they likely will force her to come back and explain why the agency targeted conservative political groups. Ms. Lerner’s refusal to testify shifted attention to her onetime boss, former Commissioner Douglas H. Shulman, who apologized to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee but refused to take responsibility, leaving furious lawmakers warning that the Internal Revenue Service could end up facing a special prosecutor.

Early in an opinion issued recently by a unanimous three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, Judge A. Raymond Randolphsaid: “Although the parties have not raised it, one issue needs to be resolved before we turn to the merits of the case.” The issue he raised but could not resolve — that is up to the Supreme Court — illuminates the Obama administration’s George Wallace-like lawlessness. It also demonstrates the judiciary’s duty to restrain presidents who forget the oath they swear to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.” The appeals court was deciding

Revelations about the Internal Revenue Service targeting conservative groups have raised important questions about the Obama administration’s commitment to the First Amendment. Yet there is ample evidence to suggest that the culture of intimidation in which these tactics were allowed to flourish goes well beyond one agency or a few rogue employees. For years, administration officials have used the power of the federal government to isolate their opponents. Meanwhile, the unionized employees who populate the IRS and other agencies across the country routinely take their cues from union bosses, whose political donations and speeches show their support

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state
