Fiscal Cliff Deal: $1 In Spending Cuts
For Every $41 In Tax Increases

Breitbart, by Matthew Boyle

According to the Congressional Budget Office, the last-minute fiscal cliff deal reached by congressional leaders and President Barack Obama cuts only $15 billion in spending while increasing tax revenues by $620 billion—a 41:1 ratio of tax increases to spending cuts. When Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush increased taxes in return for spending cuts—cuts that never ultimately came—they did so at ratios of 3:1 and 2:1.

Are you kidding me? No?

Time to check my Senators and Representative.

I´d rather have the cliff.

I disagree....
The time to "check" your comgresspeople are during elections when they should be held accountable for action, inaction or just plain old treason. We´re stuck with these animals now for at least the next 2 years, but I fear much longer unless a new third party rises.

There is no way that revenue will increase by $620 billion. The economy will continue to stagnate at best and more likely go into depression, so the predicted revenue will not materialize (it never does), so since spending will continue, the debt will deepen and our future generations will not thank us-- nor should they.

#3 - There was a chance that my Senator, Wicker, might have voted against it. I had to check.

Now for my Rep, Palazzo. My last Rep, Taylor (D), would have voted against it without a blink. He voted to impeach the Horned One after all.

Mitch McConnell NEEDS TO GO. Where´s the Kentucky Tea Party. Find someone that can replace this total disappointment. He can not communicate with the public, he sold out the republican party and he´s from the old era (tax and spend). Be sure that you vote someone in that can beat one of the washed up Judds. I hear she may be running. Just get rid of Mitch, he´s up for re-election in 2014.

By the way, Sen Pat Toomey is a total disappointment for voting for this trash. We in Pennsylvania need to start looking for someone to take his place. Toomey is up for re-election in 2016.

89 Senators need to be sent packing. Hopefully the Tea Party will run a strong candidate against Lindsey Graham in the next election.

So we all know that when you give this government money, they will find a way to burn it and then some. What this amounts to is; for every foot the life ring is thrown out, the drowning victim drifts 41 feet further out to sea.

The Pubbies continue their unbroken string - - of voting for tax increases to finance an ever-growing welfare state.

And some of us were foolish enough to believe that the era of big government was over. God bless the Pubbies - - thanks to them the welfare state will live forever!

Saps 89, Profiles in Courage 8. (This Senate is completely silly, and there´s a patsy in the White House. The house should trump and make them squirm. The numbers are indefensible.)

The lack of single family homebuilding could be the biggest reason the economy isn´t recovering. Builders can´t get the loans to start projects. On top of that, there´s government demands that certain number of new home developments must include low income housing which would kill sales of the other homes.

Obama is also dead set against rural sprawl because it gives decent people an escape hatch from crime areas and lousy schools. He´s also trying to create a false housing shortage to bring home values back up.Filling houses with recycled sub prime type borrowers sets the government up to eat more losses, thus we´re seeing hints about the FHA needing a bailout and does nothing to increase home values. In fact airdropping urban subprimers into decent neighborhoods kills values going up.

They´re also starting to charge homebuilders with eco-impact fees and sprinkler systems which add to the cost of the house that somebody has to eat.

I HAVE HAD IT with just about everyone in DC. They are spending us into total destruction ON OUR BACKS. And running off the successful. STOP it NOW!

If BUSH´S policies were so bad WHY DO THEY WANT TO KEEP HIS TAX CUTS?? For the record his economy was fantastic. Frank and Dodd and b. Clinton´s policies are what mostly hurt us, IMHO and as I read her book, in the opinion of Gretchen Morgensen, NEW YORK TIMES financial reporter.

This Tax Day, 55% of Americans regard the income taxes they have to pay as fair, the lowest percentage Gallup has measured since 2001. The results are based on Gallup´s Economy and Personal Finance poll, conducted April 4-7, and annually since 2001. The recent high in Americans´ perceptions that their taxes were fair, 64%, came in 2003, after President Bush signed tax cuts into law and weeks after the Iraq war began.

As I look back at the 2012 presidential campaign, it now all seems so obvious. Not one of those clowns performing at the hundreds of Republican primary debates this year and last was a match for the eventual nominee, Mitt Romney. And Romney clearly wasn't the candidate to defeat President Barack Obama.Yes and yes - but still. We don't always see what's happening before our very eyes. To me, the last 12 months (give or take a few) raise two central questions: If we don't learn from the flawed candidates of the past, how will we avoid taking them seriously in the future?

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington and Ralph Bunche and Langston Hughes and George Washington Carver and Ralph Abernathy and Thurgood Marshall and, yes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These men were many things to many people and they knew full well the role that racism played in their life. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups.
