| Congress careened over the edge of the “fiscal cliff” Monday, even as outlines of a deal emerged on Capitol Hill that could quickly close the hole and keep rates low for most taxpayers, and delay deep spending cuts for several months. The White House and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the top Republican negotiator, settled on the outlines Monday evening, and Vice President Joseph R. Biden was at the Capitol to sell the deal to reluctant Democrats. Democratic leaders were holding out hope for a late-night Senate vote to try to create momentum

You know what? When you have turkey faced McConnell conspiring with Biden to craft "momentum" to screw this country, I believe it´s just about time I stop caring about any more of this farcical crap. I have nothing but ill will toward our entire system of governance and all of the Kardashian-brained morons who constitute a large part of our electorate. In the foreseeable future I will be looking out for me-me-me.

I find myself amused at the implication that Congressional Democrats have a single thought in their heads that is not bestowed on them from above.
On the other hand, there ARE a couple rogue Republicans...they call them Tea Party...who will follow the Constitution and vote for the good of the country. Not that their numbers are enough to make a difference because the majority of Congressional Republicans are "go along to get along" types.
In other words, I am as disgusted as anyone else commenting on this thread.

A Chechen man linked to one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects was fatally shot early Wednesday in an unusual encounter with the FBI and other law enforcement officers in his apartment in Orlando. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Longoria, 38, took home a real degree (not an honorary one) in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, where she physically attended classes for three years, according to TMZ. "Big day today!!!
