| Iran plans to relocate an airport in the southwest of the country after discovering oil deposits under its runway, media reported on Saturday, according to AFP. The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) "intends to buy Ahvaz airport due to the existence of oil deposits under the airport´s tarmac," the state broadcaster´s website quoted Mohammad Rasoulinejad, managing director of the Iranian Airports Company, as saying. "The government has approved the relocation of the airport," Rasoulinejad said, adding that the new airport will be built 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the city. He did not give any

I once applied to the CIA and they turned me down. So, let´s see what connecting these "dots" does. The Iranian´s find oil mysteriously under an airport runway. An article is posted here yesterday [by me] about a small American plane making an emergency landing, but not reported for 16 days, till it leaves, at the same Ahvaz airport. Anyone else see the link, or should I just reposition my tinfoil hat? Something smells here with US and Iran.

Funny thing was that they struck oil at twenty feet. And it was really high grade crude. It even looked so sweet they could just go ahead on and pump it right on into the jets straight from the oil rig. Amazing how lucky these guys are. Must be living right.

No real details. But sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
The oil find is in an area where oil is probable.
That existing airport may need expensive improvements and building a new one instead may make sense.
