| Hillary Clinton has beaten First Lady Michelle Obama to be named Most Admired Woman in 2012--and Sarah Palin came in at number five. The Secretary of State has won the accolade a total of 17 times--including the past 11 years on the trot--which is more than any other woman in the award´s 52-year history. The results are based on a USA Today/Gallup poll, which asks Americans to name their most admired man and woman living in any part of the world. That´s interesting. And it confirms that Americans are, as a whole, an incredibly ignorant. When only a small percentage of people really know and understand (can care) about Hillary´s past and her ideology, even with everything going on, I believe that she could be the president-elect 4 years from now. They will play that "be part of history" angle all over again and the sheeple will follow.

Name recognition is a shallow exercise but then most voters´ understanding of issues is equally shallow.

Seems, as #4 notes, that this is essentially a name recognition.
But one must ponder the mentality of people who "admire" someone like HRC.
Ask someone what she has accomplished, and the answer is a blank stare. As SOS, she has traversed the planet, tasted wine (and beer and who knows what else) with abandon. She has uttered inanities and tasteless undiplomatic statements accompanied by cackling laughter.
There just aren´t very many women to choose from. And there aren´t many admirable men in the public eye, either...
My suggestion would be our Military, collectively, as most OUGHT TO BE admired.
No, Hillary is not admirable, nor has she done a good job for the United States.
The international scene is a bloody mess. a literally bloody mess, topped by the murder of the Four at Benghazi.

The year-end lists are nearly always just name recognition rather than a true admiration. First ladies are always near the top.
Andols such as a Thatcher in her day and Merkel and Hillary in ours. Even the various afflictions of mankind like Pelosi and Sarandon show up.

Latest - 10.33 (04.33) This from the New York Times: When the tornado sirens went off around 2.15pm, the staff of the AgapeLand Learning Centre, a day care facility, moved 15 children into two bathrooms, draping them with a protective covering and singing songs with them to keep them calm. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W.
