| He could have been a $19 million hobo. The twisted saga of reclusive New York railroad heiress Huguette Clark took another bizarre turn yesterday when a long-lost heir — described as a transient man who potentially stood to get a whopping piece of her massive fortune — turned up dead under a Wyoming train overpass, authorities said. The body of Timothy Henry Gray, 60, was found by kids sledding near a Union Pacific Railroad span in the small town of Evanston, police there said yesterday. The “homeless” Gray, who was wearing a light jacket in 10-degree weather, died of hypothermia.

A real life Hobo Bill. Hat tip to Merle Haggard. What a sad and lonely way to die.

Sad fact of the matter, he would have burned through the money and wound up at the underpass to die anyway.

This fortune was a results of mines in Montana.
He proablably would not have burned through the money. The article said he had a check in his wallet for a ´significant amount´ dated 2003 that he never cashed. Probably wouldn´t have spent any of the inheritance either. But probably would have died homeless anyway. There were screws loose in that family.

He could have used a couple of million in 1$ bills to keep a fire going continuously for the entire winter. The truth is he didn´t want the money or the responsibility of having it. Nothing good would have come from him having it.

I feel so badly for Ms. Clark. I wonder what could have been for her had she married and perhaps had children. She had incredible taste in jewelry design, fashion.

HIGHLANDS, NJ — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that President Obama "has kept every promise he´s made" about helping the state recover from Hurricane Sandy. Speaking on MSNBC´s "Morning Joe" program on the 6-month anniversary of the deadly storm, the Republican governor said presidential politics were the last thing on his mind as he toured storm-devastated areas with Obama last fall. "The president has kept every promise he´s made," said Christie, widely considered a potential candidate for the republican presidential nomination in 2016. "I think he´s done a good job. He kept his word."

In the wake of this week´s false AP tweet about explosions at the White House, Bloomberg´s Jared Keller and Evan Applegate offer a look at how "false tweets" can move markets, sending stocks spiking or crashing in an instant. "The AP hack highlights the potential pitfalls of relying on social networks for tradable information, but false tweets have been affecting markets and companies for the past few years," they write. "In some cases the impact of false tweets can be immediate. On August 6, 2012: A Twitter account claiming to be that of Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was on welfare, sponsored by tax payers. Tsarnaev, now dead, is suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon last week. "Marathon bombings mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Herald has learned," reports the Boston Herald. "State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter.

“He looks like me,” my son, Shibli, 10, said as we looked at a photo of a young Dzhokhar Tsarnaev flash upon the TV screen Friday night. Indeed, with his innocent eyes and rumple of dark curly hair, he did. As an American, a Muslim, a mother, and an aunt to a nephew on the cusp of manhood, my heart just broke for yet another boy lost in our Muslim community, taking with him the lives of others. Enough, enough, enough, I say, with the CYA—Cover Your A**—strategy in our Muslim communities.

JIMMY KIMMEL, HOST: Mayor Bloomberg is somebody that… BILL MAHER: [Sighs] Ohh. KIMMEL: Now, what do you think of his efforts to protect us from carbonated beverages and the like? BILL MAHER: I don´t like it. You know, I think it gives liberals a bad name. I really do. It makes liberals look like bullies who want to tell people what to do. And they never met a regulation they didn´t like. I mean, obviously we do have a problem with child obesity. I don´t want our children to be 99 percent Mountain Dew.

Former Weather Underground radical Kathy Boudin — who spent 22 years in prison for an armored-car robbery that killed two cops and a Brinks guard — now holds a prestigious adjunct professorship at Columbia University’s School of Social Work, The Post has learned. Boudin, 69, this year won another academic laurel — being named the Sheinberg Scholar-in-Residence at NYU Law School, where last month she gave a lecture on “the politics of parole and re-entry.” Boudin’s bounce-back into respectability after her 2003 parole comes to light a week before the release of Robert Redford’s movie

This is a real thing that is really happening. For real. CNS News: President Barack Obama, who has increased the national debt by $53,377 per household, has proclaimed April “National Financial Capability Month,” during which his administration will do things such as teach young people “how to budget responsibly.” “I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices,” Obama said in an official proclamation released Friday…

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington and Ralph Bunche and Langston Hughes and George Washington Carver and Ralph Abernathy and Thurgood Marshall and, yes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These men were many things to many people and they knew full well the role that racism played in their life. But when it came to their own accomplishments and sense of purpose, they had no time for excuses. Every one of you has a grandma or an uncle or a parent whose told you at some point in life

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure
