Blood clots like Clinton’s can be minor,
but stroke is a worry if they travel to the brain

Blood clots like the one that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is being treated for following her recent concussion can occur for a host of reasons. How serious a clot is depends on where it is and why it formed. A Clinton aide would not say where hers is located. WHAT THEY ARE: Blood pools and thickens into a clot after an injury or because of a heart problem, clogged arteries or other condition. Clots also can break off and travel to another part of the body.

There is already a lot Liberalism on the brain. The clot has a slim chance.

Bravely fighting death. The race for the White House in 2016 has already begun with PIAPS, our hero, way out front.

Warning to Hillary: Coumadin/warfarin was first used as a ´Rat poison.

BTW: dehydration, being bed ridden, lack of exercise can all lead to blood clots. People worry a lot about strokes but it´s also possible to have a pulmonary embolism. I had one in ´09 following surgery (broke a leg that required a plate) with the resultant "Lay down with your leg up" routine. Water, movement and those tiny aspirins (taken daily) all help. P embolisms kill about 100,000 PATIENTS annually in the U.S. 3 in 10 who get it die.

They´re not even saying where the clot is and it may have nothing to do with the concussion but a blood clot in her leg from sitting with her legs closed.I don´t know how you can find a clot without saying where it is.

I think Richard Nixon had phlebitis which poses a constant threat of a clot getting in the bloodstream and hitting the heart and lungs.

I,too , was waiting for the ApePee to straighten all this out for me. If not for them , I would still be stuck with my theory that this evil, communist, LBGT spokesperson has never told the truth about anything and the only way the media could provide her even more cover would be if she would let it be known that she´s actually an African American.

Article was totally worthless. It looked like it was copied out of a grammar school encyclopedia.

WHERE this supposed blood clot is makes all the difference in the world. Is no one asking or taking questions regarding our secretary of state?

My brother had a pulmonary clot from a pic line. I can´t help but think Herself has something other than a clot from the brain concussion, but I doubt if we´ll ever find out.
The MSM will not help at all.

It certainly benefits Barky if Piaps disappears and takes Benghazi with her.

These people are Marxists, after all.

There´s a great and honored tradition of lethal skulduggery on the left.

It helps make the election fraud feel trivial.

They state that blood clots like the one she is being treated for, then, they say they have no idea where it is or why. So how can they write an article saying its minor or like the one she has if they don´t know anything?

Obviously, #18, you haven´t been paying attention to what the left has said about us, including wishing for the death of George Bush. When you are dealing with loathsome liars like this, it´s hard not to make some comments about them. Too many excuses. "I can´t recall", "the papers just appeared on a table", "it´s a vast right wing conspiracy", etc and etc. Now this so-called concussion followed by a blood clot that will prevent her from testifying about Benghazi. These people make Gru look like the nicest guy ever.

This little piece is 100% speculation.

When they thought i might have DVT (deep vein thrombosis) in my leg, I was given Heparin. I have never known of the giving of something as powerful as Coumadin (Warfarin), which is usually given for chronic conditions.

She may have suffered a subdural hematoma, not unusual after a blow to the head from a fall. But this is a hemorrhage, and blood thinners would not be given for a brain hemorrhage.

The truth is they don´t know so are dancing around trying to come up with something. They do know enough to headline that "blood clots like Clinton´s can be minor". That sounds more like a DVT in her leg, which can be a result of sitting in airplanes for hours and hours...something she prides herself on having done.

Now I´ve added my uninformation to the AP´s pile.

Re #32 and coumarin as rat poison, it´s always good to read the entire citation:

Interestingly, warfarin has been widely used to kill rats because it causes these rodents to die from internal bleeding, and many people have therefore come to think of warfarin as a "rat poison" and are hesitant to take it themselves when their doctors prescribe for them. Yet warfarin is not a poison in a true sense and thus is safe for humans to take under proper medical supervision.

As Snopes points out, Mexican vanilla extract is good. It is also fairly pricey. It´s the cheap Mexican imitation vanilla that can be a problem.

Imitation vanilla is not a bargain wherever one buys it. Its use results in an inferior product. Bad economy.

Speaking at Ohio State University earlier this month, Barack Obama urged students to pay no attention to those paranoid types who “incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity.” Oddly enough, in recent days the most compelling testimony for this view of government has come from the president himself, who insists with a straight face that he had no idea that the Internal Revenue Service had spent two years targeting his political enemies until he

The punditocracy is pulling out its collective hair, wanting to know why there have apparently been multiple layers of cover-ups in the evolving Benghazi story. An early scandal from the Clinton administration, the so-called “Travelgate” scandal, may be instructive. Recall that in the 1993 firings of employees at the White House Travel Office, a determination was made early on by the new president Bill Clinton and then-First Lady Hillary Clinton that the Travel Office workers, who served at the pleasure of the president,

The tragedy of Benghazi, where a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans were killed, seemed a cut-and-dried story in the days after a mob attacked the State Department’s mission in eastern Libya. From President Obama on down, the recap was simple: A crowd of demonstrators angry over an obscure YouTube video that denigrated Islam’s Prophet Muhammad spontaneously stormed the complex. The State Department’s top spokeswoman assured the public that security for fallen Ambassador J. RENO, Nev. — Soon after moving into Liberace’s gaudy Las Vegas mansion in 1977, Scott Thorson, then a teenage hunk in the foster care system, learned that the jewel-smitten showman could love just as extravagantly as he decorated. Touring the premises before their relationship began, Liberace pointed out some decorative highlights, which included 17 pianos, a casino, a quarry’s worth of marble and a canopied bed with an ermine spread. On the ceiling was a reproduction of the Sistine Chapel with Liberace’s face painted among the cherubs.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
