President Barack Obama appeared on NBC´s "Meet The Press" on Sunday, talking about the "fiscal cliff" negotiations and priorities for his administration in his second term. The president told host David Gregory that he was optimistic something will be worked out to keep tax rates from rising on Tuesday -- but if not, his first piece of legislation for the next Congress will be a bill to reduce tax rates on most Americans. The president also spoke about his second term and what he wants to accomplish. Here are highlights of what he said:

For millions of us out here in Crazyland, formerly known as "America" EVERY day is the worst day of your presidency. They just keep getting worser and worser and worser...

Gun control is probably DOA.

What really scares me is "immigration reform." That will make a bunch of socialistic illegals voters. Quisling Republicans may got along to try to "buy the Hispanic vote."

How about this. Stop spending recklessly and lower taxes for ALL Americans.

The two worst days of my life were the two when I realized that Barack Hussein Obama was going to be the President of the United States for four more years.

Obama: ´It´s going to be very hard to sustain current growth trends with a big bite out of middle class paychecks.´

Oh, you mean making people PAY for the big government they voted for? Imagine that!

A bad day for people who love this country was 11/08/08 and even worse was 11/06/12. What the worst is only the future can tell.

The idiots that voted for Obama have paved the way for even more decisive, toxic issues to be presented to the country.Republicans have got to get it through their thick heads that half the country opposes Obama and shut the door on all this crap. The spending is bad enough, then you have all this social engineering on top of it.

Obama´s still running for re-election in an odball way, setting the left up to take over the House. The plan is to get people sick of gridlock. We´ve seen that movie before when the left had all 3 branches.A $6 trillion run up on the debt before you could bat your eyes. There can´t be anything worse than a complete moron having total power.

So his worst day was the recent Newtown shootings - says he won´t forget it. Yeah, like he forgot Benghazi, or all our troops being killed by the Afghan forces they are training, etc. etc. If this was his worst day, how does he think Bush 43 coped with 911?

Every day, in every way, he makes things worse. God have mercy.

Okay GOP, Obama just told everyone what he necessarily expects to do in his 2nd term. Your job, should you decide to accept, is to propose legislation to counteract this nonsense p-r-i-o-r to his blabbing this to the entire nation during the State of the Union speech.

Will you step up and rise to the occasion? Probably not.

Iam convinced this Fiscal Cliff scam is all about creating smoke so the $1T in new ObamaCare taxes can slip by & be blamed on the GOP.

We really need to pull the TPers together, with libertarians & other freedom loving Americans, to form a 3rd party. Thanks to this divisive POTUS & the gov´t MSM, the franchise of GOP is forever damaged.

Although I do adore Boehner... I think his removal of TPers from committees was at the behest of Obama, early in negotiations. Can´t forgive that...

The IRS scandal smoking gun?

COLLEGE PARK, Md- In the Internal Revenue Service targeting scandal and others, Washington and the media are obsessed with the question: What did the president know and when did he know it? That misses the point. Barack Obama´s presidency is much more damaging to the nation than the mistakes of subordinates now coming to light. Most recently, we learned Obama met with anti-Tea Party IRS Union President Colleen Kelley just before the tax agency began targeting conservative groups. Is that the smoking gun? Was the president in on the plan to harass opponents of big government?

WASHINGTON - Three days of congressional hearings about the Internal Revenue Service´s targeting of conservative political groups have lawmakers looking for ways to widen an investigation that has so far been largely contained within the tax collection agency. More than 11 hours of testimony and an inspector general´s report have revealed plenty of wrongdoing within the IRS. But so far, investigators have not produced evidence that anyone outside the IRS authorized the targeting, or even knew about it before a few weeks ago. They will keep trying. Three congressional committees are investigating the matter, and the leaders of those committees

A Wall Street Journal editorial socks it to the president and his hands-off management style. Every day brings new revelations about who knew what about the IRS targeting conservative groups during President Obama´s re-election campaign, but the overall impression is of a vast federal bureaucracy run amok. While the White House continues to peddle the story of a driverless train wreck, taxpayers are being treated to a demonstration of the dangers of an unwieldy and unaccountable administrative state. Look, Ma, no hands! In his press events, Mr. Obama has said that while he learned about the Cincinnati rogues

LONDON- Two British men of Nigerian descent accused of hacking a soldier to death on a London street in revenge for wars in Muslim countries were known to security services, a source close to the investigation said Thursday. One man, filmed calmly justifying the killing as he stood by the body holding a knife and meat cleaver in bloodied hands, was named by acquaintances as 28-year-old Londoner Michael Adebolajo - a British-born convert to radical Islam. So frenzied was the attack, some witnesses thought they tried to behead the victim.

Ford Motor Co. He announced the loss of 1,200 jobs from October 2016 at two plants in Melbourne and Geelong.Australia’s three car makers have struggled as a 27 percent rise in the local dollar against the yen

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy.
