Feinstein: More Power, More Money
to ATF to Register All Guns

As the day on which Sen. Dianne Feinstein´s (D-CA) "assault weapon" ban will be introduced draws closer, another troubling aspect of it has come to light – namely, that it will give new funding and expanded powers to the ATF for the purpose of registering all guns and gun owners in the country. In other words, in addition to banning "assault weapons" and handguns like Glocks, Sig Sauers, Smith & Wesson M&Ps, and H&Ks, the legislation will also empower the ATF to be sure every gun is placed on a government registry. The version of the legislation

Folks better be fighting back on this right away. That means ALL of us. We need to get in the horn, the email, write physical letters, etc. to all our representatives and Senators and tell them exactly why this can NOT go through. We will NOT accept this and we will take action against anyone who votes for this nightmare. We CANNOT expect someone else to do anything about this. ALL of us must take action and get our friends and families to do the same. We must have them get their friends and families involved too...and so on and so on. This is TOO important to leave to others. Please, can every one of us make calls and write to our politicians?? I even have to call Feinstein myself and write to her because she is one of my Senators. We must bombard them all--even if they won´t listen. Because we can get to enough of them that will. And there will be some wobblers that need persuading. And if we overwhelm them, even DiFi, it will show that even her constituents don´t all agree with her.

Yep, agree with #4. This needs to be fought hard. It´s evil legislation and the GOP in congress might just be too stupid to stand against the hysteria.

Good luck on getting them all registered, you dried up old prune. Ever hear of Canada?

BTW, are you going to register yours?

Up yours Feinstein.

The legislation is incomplete. Feinstein should add subways to the list of banned and heavily regulated items. Subways have been used by two individuals recently to kill other people. Who knows how many more will be killed and injured by this horribly violent weapon?

If possible, the ATF is even less trustworthy than the Democrat Party.

What is wrong with this woman; she seems to be stuck on stupid. The mother of the psychotic killer of the children would have still been able to buy her guns, registered or not, and her son would still have been able to do what he did. It is tragic. 0bama wants moe gun control, yet he sends his daughters to a school that has several armed guards with REAL guns. The Hollywood dummies are all screaming for gun control, yet they have armed guards protecting them and their families. People, let us have some common sense in this debate. How about seeking a change in our violent culture and violent movies.

Diane, please add to your proposed legislation an abortion license, abortion registry and very heavy abortion tax.

You would think that Feinstein would be a bit more, well, "sensitive" about turning the ATF into America´s Gestapo.

In this case, all that´s necessary for good to triumph is for mediocre men and women (meaning the House of Representatives) to do nothing.

Tea party looks to take

DES MOINES, Iowa — Is the tea party getting its groove back? Shouts of vindication from around the country suggest the movement´s leaders certainly think so. They say the IRS acknowledgement that it had targeted their groups for extra scrutiny — a claim that tea party activists had made for years — is helping pump new energy into the coalition. And they are trying to use that development, along with the ongoing controversy over the Benghazi, Libya, terrorist attacks and the Justice Department´s secret seizure of journalists´ phone records, to recruit new activists incensed about government overreach.

Several major cases will be decided by the Supreme Court over the next six weeks, including historic issues such as gay marriage and affirmative action. These cases make the remainder of the Court’s term—which ends in June—one of the most carefully watched terms by millions of Americans. In addition to several significant cases that have already been decided this year, the justices of the High Court have at least ten important issues to decide before adjourning for the summer. Two headline cases involve race relations

Since his emergence as a national political figure, Barack Obama has managed to deflect accusations of wrongdoing and impropriety with ease. Republicans on Capitol Hill are determined to put that to an end by making him pay for the unfolding scandal at the Internal Revenue Service. “Ultimately responsibility lies with the president. Obama has spent the better part of the last five years doing non-stop campaigning,” says a senior Republican Senate aide who points to the administration’s larger pattern of “using political offices to intimidate and harrass” its opponents. “When bureaucrats see the leader

“And the war will end by the end of next year .?.?. ” In the elusive search for an Obama Doctrine, that struck me as a telling phrase when I heard the president deliver it last week as he and British Prime Minister David Cameron took a couple of questions from reporters. Obama was speaking about the withdrawal of U.S. and allied combat troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2014. “Our troops will continue to come home, and the war will end,” he said. In fact, the war is unlikely to end. It may well accelerate as the Taliban

When the Justice Department began investigating possible leaks of classified information about North Korea in 2009, investigators did more than obtain telephone records of a working journalist suspected of receiving the secret material. They used security badge access records to track the reporter’s comings and goings from the State Department, according to a newly obtained court affidavit. They traced the timing of his calls with a State Department security adviser suspected of sharing the classified report. They obtained a search warrant for the reporter’s personal e-mails. The case

In early 2010, an Internal Revenue Service team in Cincinnati began noticing a stream of applications from groups with political-sounding names, setting in motion a dragnet aimed at separating legitimate tax-exempt groups from those working to get candidates elected. The IRS officials decided to single out one type of political group for particular scrutiny. “These cases involve various local organizations in the Tea Party movement,” read one internal IRS e-mail sent at the time. A few hours north in Fremont, Ohio, the owners of a drainage supply shop, Tom and Marion Bower, were wondering why it was taking so long

The White House´s chief lawyer learned weeks ago that an audit of the Internal Revenue Service likely would show that agency employees inappropriately targeted conservative groups, a senior White House official said Sunday. That disclosure has prompted a debate over whether the president should have been notified at that time. In the week of April 22, the Office of the White House Counsel and its head, Kathryn Ruemmler, were told by Treasury Department attorneys that an inspector general´s report was nearing completion, the White House official said. In that conversation, Ms. Ruemmler learned that "a small

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
