| With the new year fast approaching and the fiscal cliff deadline looming, all eyes are on President Obama and Congressional leaders to work out a compromise before then. The White House and Congress are working through the weekend to settle on an acceptable compromise, and on Sunday, the president will sit down for an exclusive interview with David Gregory on Meet the Press. The interview marks more than three years since Obama last appeared on a network Sunday talk show. The exclusive interview was announced earlier today by NBC. According to POLITICO, Gregory was scheduled to be on vacation

Note that the interview went to the most knee-pad network. NBC and MSNBC don´t employ reporters any more-- they employ sycophantic stenographers.
After Stinky and Gregory have agreed that full blame goes to Republicans for anything and everything, Gregory will ask hard-hitting questions about Bo the dog and boxers/briefs. There--I´ve saved you the trouble of tuning in, my public service for the day.

My eyes won´t be on these idiots. We already know the outcome of the "negotiations." Higher taxes and no spending cuts, which is what both sides want.

The emergency operating room where doctors tried to save President Kennedy´s life after he was shot has been broken into pieces and covertly stored in crates for years, guarded as if it were a state secret. As the 50th anniversary in November of the President´s assassination nears, an investigative team from local Dallas station WFAA went digging for the exact location of the broken tiles and medical equipment used on that fateful day. They found that the room was formally destroyed in 1972 when Parkland Hospital was going through an expansion and Trauma Room 1 had to be demolished.

Every Memorial Day, when I run into the grocery store to pick up those last minute items for the three day weekend’s picnic, I’m met with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) selling their poppies. We cherish, too, the poppy red/ that grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies/that blood of heroes never dies-- “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael -I remember as a kid that it was very common to see paper poppies being sold around Memorial Day. You could even go to the post office and purchase one

A 17-year-old boy and 22-year-old man were killed within hours of each other in separate West Side attacks Friday night, and a 29-year-old man was killed on the South Side, officials said. The youngest of the three killed was with an 18-year-old friend; both were shot about 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of North Central Avenue in the Austin neighborhood. GUJRAT, Pakistan- At least 17 children were killed and 10 others injured when a gas cylinder on a school van exploded Saturday in northeastern Pakistan, officials said. The van, carrying 20 to 25 children, caught fire after the cylinder exploded, Dawn News reported. The driver survived but a teacher was reportedly killed, the BBC reported. The children, ages 5 to 15, were just a few miles from their school in Gujrat when the compressed natural gas canister exploded.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”
