| Promises: Social Security ran a $47.8 billion deficit in fiscal 2012, drawing in even less than it paid out last year, with just 1.67 workers supporting each retiree. But instead of confronting the truth, the left still denies reality. According to official Social Security Administration data this week, the program´s incoming cash from the working population and their employers came to $725 billion in fiscal 2012 while it paid out $773 billion in cash and overhead. That´s as the number of retirees and disabled using the system grow 10,000 a day to more than 57 million people currently,

Economic collapse is inevitable. Just a matter of when. Don´t waste time with those that stick fingers in ears chanting, "la, la, la, la, la, la". Obama care will be long forgotten by the time we recognize we are looking at the survival cliff. I know it sounds negative to say those things, but they seem inevitable.

And Obama and the Congress will act surprised. The good ole boys club is responsible for this mess. They will wait until the 11th hour to address this too. Government is broken, and it is time to dissolve it and start anew. It is so bloated that no one really knows how much waste there is. End it all, and restart, military first. Then asking if each department is necessary.

When weekly jobless claims are in the 350,000 range, is it any wonder that this is happening? No one´s paying into the SS system and the fund has been raided into oblivion.

Here´s the thing... just pay me back what my husband and I paid in for decades. I won´t even charge you interest you slimy leftist poser wannabes. And somebody get slick Willy on the phone. He and his triangulating fellow travelers from the nineties have much to answer for.

Congress makes the Law. Main Street follows the Law. Wall Street breaks the Law.
Washington exempts themselves from having to follow the Law or being held to account when the Law does not work.
The MSM lies to us about all of this so we have ended up with a brainwashed electorate:
28% eligible voters (for big government dictating to) 26% eligible voters (for smaller government) 46% eligible voters (who won’t vote for anything).
The Tyranny of the Minority is destroying our children’s financial future!

Right, #5. Cash my wife and I out and I will turn the proceeds into a growing fund. But that won´t happen, because it´s not there anymore. Thievery and a Ponzi scheme is all SS is.

Not to diminish the seriousness of the SS problem, but Bernanke is printing twice that amount ($84 billion) *every month* to buy bonds so people can use their newly minted cash buy stocks to re-inflate the stock market bubble so as to give Obama more negotiating strength in the cliff talks. I don´t think people realize how inflationary this policy could become. See Weimar Republic in Wikipedia. The people who depend on SS will be very disappointed when their whole SS check buys a couple loaves of bread.

The system was doomed when they started to siphen off chunks of the money for disability. You can´t fake turning 65 but there are tens of thousands out there with newly acquired back and neck injuries.

Good points here, especially that of #8. But in the end we get the government we deserve, and professional politicians know that evasion and irresponsibility will be rewarded by their dumbed down and willfully ignorant constituents. Remember when President Bush led off his second term with an initiative to structurally reform SS? Fat lot of good it did him, or those of us who understand where this thing is going.

Well SS would still be in the black if contributions by current employees had not been cut by more than a third. This is just part of a democrat scheme to have half of the country not only pay no Federal Income Tax, but no tax period.
Combined with the incredible and corrupt increase in disability it would seem, that for whatever reasons the democrats are doing there best to destroy completely that which they vow to protect. Throw in the completely inept and truly dumb repubs and you get to where we are.

Two suspects in the bombing of the AMIA Jewish centre in Buenos Aires are candidates in Iran’s presidential election. Mohsen Rezai and Ali Akbar Velayati, who are believed to have planned the 1994 attack, were among the eight candidates approved for the June 14 election by Iran’s Guardian Council to succeed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Iranian constitution bars Ahmadinejad from seeking re-election. Rezai is under an international arrest warrant, or red notice, from the Interpol international police agency. Argentina has accused the Iranian government of masterminding and directing the bombing, which killed 85 and injured 300,

Organized Labor: On the surface, the Los Angeles mayor´s race looked like a choice between Coke and Pepsi. But Eric Garcetti´s lopsided win over Wendy Greuel showed a major difference — in the public´s view of unions. City Controller Greuel lost 54%-46% on Tuesday, bested by City Councilman Garcetti, who will become the mayor of America´s second-largest city on July 1. It was an interesting result because the candidates are two peas in a pod. Both are left-wing Democrats with ideas so closely aligned they have been political allies; both grew up in the San Fernando Valley;

Argentine government trade restrictions on overseas sales of beef have turned Paraguay into Mercosur third largest exporter behind Brazil and Uruguay. The first place last year belonged to Brazil with exports of 1.3 million tons; Uruguay, 350.000 tons; Paraguay, 210.00 and finally Argentina.183.000 tons. The poor international performance of Argentina, once the world leading beef exporter is attributed to the measures first implemented by President Nestor Kirchner in 2006 and continued by her wife and current head of state.

An editorial at Investors.com Monday noted that, having succeeded twice at electing a candidate with a radical socialist background, Barack Obama’s political advisors have now moved from a goal of merely controlling the “narrative,” to one of control of the actual “news.” The “seizure of AP phone records and surveillance of Fox employees,” says the editorial, demonstrates the White House’s “real aim.” The editorial observes that Obama’s political advisors have reveled in their ability to work the media. They took an otherwise inferior candidate, who is not representative of most Americans in

Statism: Pope Francis seemed to have an economic blind spot, to say the least, when he urged more "state control" to cut global poverty Thursday. On the contrary — the biggest poverty-killer in history is free enterprise. Before we go further, let us say that we know that the pope does seem to have the best intentions and his devotion to the poor is indisputable. But it appears he has been infected by the local economic pathologies of his homeland, Argentina, and its liberation theology among the Jesuits, at least when he warned ambassadors about "the tyranny of money"

Democracy: The IRS targeting of Tea Party groups is mind-boggling not only for its abuse of government power. It´s also disturbing for what it intended to do: destroy civil society, opening a door for tyranny. The formation in 2009 of hundreds of Tea Party groups at the rallying cry of CNBC news editor Rick Santelli, from places as diverse as Lowell, Mass., Pleasanton, Calif., Asheville, N.C., Yuma, Ariz., and Lincoln, Neb., among hundreds of others, was a spontaneous reaction by ordinary American citizens to an overspending, oversized government whose overreach called into question its constitutionality.

Many observers have pondered if the United States is following the same troubled path as Argentina. In the 1940s, Argentina’s Juan Domingo Perón used government agencies for political gain and created a popular form of fascism called Perónism. In the United States, the recent revelation of the Internal Revenue Service targeting political enemies is a bad omen. Are we on an Argentinean course? The road to decay in my native country, Argentina, began with the implementation of one of the most powerful collectivist doctrines of the 20th century: fascism.

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
