Feinstein: All Gun Owners Should
Be Registered, Fingerprinted

Even as news that Sen. Dianne Feinstein´s (D-CA) "Assault Weapon" ban is really a ban on some of the most popular civilian-owned handguns in the U.S., details of her promised legislation also show that it will require gun owners to register their guns with the government. Feinstein´s legislation does this by banning the import, possession, and transfer of hundreds of different weapons, but making special allowances for gun owners who already own the weapons on the ban list. On first read, the owner of an AR-15,

1. Start with the First Amendment. Fingerprint all clergy and "journalists" first.
2. It takes a very special [willful, etc.] kind of stupidity to pretend "...shall not be infringed" means anything other than what it means.

Perhaps an identifying tattoo would help the authorities keep track of all these criminals. It´s for the safety of the children, after all.

I wonder how many unregistered guns there are in the nation. So many are handed down father to son and not registered, there must be millions. Then the question how many of the owners of these under the radar guns would willing to and get printed and raise a big flag saying come and get it.

The real plan is this: put in a new gun ban, register all guns; then, when there is another Newtown CT school incident, tell Americans that confiscation is the only answer.
Listen for the knock at your door.
End of Second Amendment.
Liberals win.

Dianne, the States already regulate guns.

Under the Reserved Powers clause, Dianne should stop attempting to violate the Constitution, and tell her fellow Senators to get off of their lazy asses and pass a budget, something they have not bothered to do for years.

Just what an arguably near-bankrupt country [due to Democrat mismanagement]needs is another giant federal bureaucracy doing nothing useful at vast expense.

Canada just ended their looney-tune long gun registry after $2Billion was wasted on it. Canada has 10% of the population of America. Can America finance yet another Democrat boondoggle? Everything they touch turns to junk. Look at California, or Stab City or... etc. etc.

nancy it actually takes 2/3 rds of the states to change the constitution . May we remind the progressives do not control even half of them so pass your bill honey and wait forever for it to succeed .
The same should apply to the Obamacare fiasco --30 GOP states pass their independent bills to nullify it and refuse to accept the FED´s unconstitutional blunder.

Do guns perform abortions? Perhaps we just have to expand the definition; late term, you understand. Someone wrote recently, "abort liberals to the 300th trimester".
Diane is an elitist, and therefore does not have the same limitations as an ordinary citizen. She has "rights", and I suppose, she is anxious to find out their limits.
If these politicians want to live in a bubble, guarded by gunmen, they might avoid the backlash for a time, but the second amendment isn´t going away, but the politician may. All tyrants and dictators want to disarm their subjects, and these gun grabbers are typical, and make themselves vulnerable to retaliation. Typical white woman with too high of an opinion of her self,I suppose.
Also found this: "Those who would turn their guns into plows, will plow for those who don´t."
-Thomas Jefferson

I assume that dried up old prune has already registered and been fingerprinted?

I´ve always wondered why her life, and the rest of those hypocrites, is worth so much more than mine. They don´t have any trouble getting California carry permits.

Of course, California does have its standards. Because of the public safety issue, Nobody in California can get a CCW unless(s)he is 1) a politician, 2) a rock star, or 3) a left-wing movie actor. The rest of us don´t have a need.

BTW, Dianne, if I had a gun, you wouldn´t get it, no matter what laws you pass, nor would I register it. Of course that´s all academic, since I would never own anything so dangerous...

The latest hoodlum fad is setting people on fire. We´re in a very sick and demented society and that´s why guns are in such high demand.

Feinstein just wants to be the champion of gun grabbing to prove she´s the queen of the far left. Her bill probably won´t even pass the senate, let alone the House.Maybe it´s all a stunt so Obama can step in with an exe. order but even those can´t repeal a constitutional right.

The left thinks they own the country right now and whatever they say, goes. In their opinion, there´s nothing to oppose them other than pockets of right wing renegades lurking in the bushes.

It´s just like the death penalty being eradicated by the left under the guise of it being inhumane.Never mind the victim of the murderers were treated inhumanely. If you fire a rocket at Israel, they should only be allowed to shoot rockets back.

The left wouldn´t even be in power except for importing foreign voters, yet they still believe the majority of people agrees with them.

Most of the liberal Democrats would legalize drugs and ban all firearms in a minute. That would transform America in another way, all the drug dealers could be let out of prison to make room, and Americans who have never been criminals before would now be classified as criminals subject to long prison terms as a result of many aspects of the liberal Democrats war on firearms.

How many of the current criminal population and violent nut cases who are causing all this shooting havoc around the country are going to show up to be fingerprinted and photographed anyway?

I hate "slippery slope" because it is code for "paranoid. Now here comes feinstein and cuomo with expressions of gun grabbers inner thoughts we always knew they had. Mandatory registration? Confiscation? When that doesn´t work, what´s next, drone X-rays of all residences to locate firearms followed by a door to door roundup? Oh, sorry my paranoid side just kicked in.

Well...

1) The proposed legislation is in direct contradiction to the Heller decision of 2008 establishing the 2nd Ammendment as an individual Right (which we all knew anyway).

2) The proposed legislation is being framed as an "Assault Weapons Ban"... but reading it reveals it would also ban many handguns. This is why nobody trusts politicians- particularly Lefties.

3) The last ´Assault Weapons Ban" didn´t work.

We have Oath-Keepers. I suggest a new organization: "Gun-Grab Killers." Our right to own lethal weapons to defend against evil in our own communities is from God, not man. That right cannot legitimately be taken away by mere men.

Gun-Grab Killers would vow to kill the first enforcement "officer" at their door who would dare to enforce an (eternally) unlawful order to confiscate lethal weapons peacefully owned.

If enough people joined such a group (anonymously, perhaps), and if clear prior notice was delivered to every potential enforcer of unlawful orders, we might just avoid a repeat of Nazi Germany.

Think it´s bad now, wait til Comrad obama nominates his next Supreme Court choice(s). He could name Karl Marx, Saul Alinsky or Vladimir Putin and the libs and the media would fall in love with him or her. The Republicans don´t have the clankers to stop anyone obama chooses. Fact is, he´ll probably pick a minority or female to use that as a weapon against the opposition.

These mass murder shootings of late are kind of suspicious. The democrats moving with what seems to be predecided agenda IMMEDIATELY after reminds of when a married couple divorces, then one of the former spouses is already in the arms of another just a day after the divorce papers are signed. Maybe I´m wearing a tin hat but how about how many commit suicide after the shooting, leaving no spoken trail? It´s the perfect crime for democrat rats.

Someone with who is a good thinker, former leader, former military, expert in revolutionary war, needs to submit ideas of what we can do to stop these off the chain actions of an out of control gov. We need to think of an ultimatum, sign some petitions and give the Feds a compliance date. Enough is enough. Tell them to back off or else. Plus we won´t be submitting any bills to congress to get justice. The slacker DC politicians have shown all too well that is ineffective.

Gov diatribe/rhetoric nearing end of 2012 shows why they have stockpiled some much ammunition. We are under siege and they want a complete takeover. They probably plan to surrender us to China at some point as it was noted China recently poked their nose into the gun debate demanding US citizens be disarmed.

During the Nightstalker case, she was the Mayor of SF and let the cat out of the bag about evidence police found that was helping them to link the cases (shoe prints) - so, the Nightstalker of course changed his shoes - eventually he was caught, by people in a neighborhood where he was stalking.

This will mean Congress has gone too far. Even King George realized ownership of private weapons was a right in America. These tyrants need to be taught a lesson, first it was stuffing Obama-don´t-care down our throats, and now it´s making every law-abiding citizen a law-breaker through a "retro-active" law. These people are evil. If the States don´t rise up and re-establish control over the Federal, then the citizens must. It´s a right spelled out in our very Declaration of Independence.

Registration is the precursor to confiscation. It starts here just as in all Communist countries.

The red flags are up, the warning lights are flashing! Are we going to let these enemies of America trample our Constitution and destroy our country?

Our Founders pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to preserve, protect, and defend this great country. We should do no less.

Since I have a CHL I am now what?

What they want is a totalitarian regime that will seize all weapons or make all gun owners criminals.

Australia, England have tried the gun bans only to have crime skyrocket. Canada tried the gun registration scheme that was a failure and cost the tax payers billions of dollars.

Tattoo the gun owners registration number on the inside of their arm and have them be required to wear a patch on the outside of their clothing for easy identification. Those not complying and found with a firearm are subject to summary execution.

So...this has to be stopped from passing or we´ll be spending the next forty years chipping away at it.

Like Obama et al., Feinstein is not the disease but a symptom of the disease. The disease is in the electorate. Its plague reservoirs are in the universities. Unless Americans reclaim their schools and universities from those who are, knowingly or not, enemies of America, the sickness may indeed be unto death.

Just as they promised they would, the Sixties radicals seized the universities and the institutions of culture. "We will get you through your children!" howled Alan Ginsburg. And they did.

All of these liberal and Leftist zombies are being manufactured right now in our schools and universities, and conservatives seem powerless to do anything about it. The battle for America has been lost at the ballot box. It can still be won in the schools and universities, but the hour is growing late. Another generation of indoctrinated voters and the republic will be history.

Weapons manufacturing was about the only business that was going great during King O´s first term . Is it any wonder that purchase´s have gone even higher since he got re-elected ? . Look , the socialist´s are like an Ant colony , they all work for the greater good . Feiny or whomever , it could have been any one of them . They all know weapons sales have little to do with a school and a loon . They all know as well what their King has plans for and are very worried we know too . We´re arming ourselves ahead of schedule .

I have a concealed carry permit here in FLA. I was fingerprinted and passed a background check.

I also have a FLA driver´s license.

If I mess up in either area, you´ll know where to find me.

Of course there is always the old argument that "it´s the militia". They are the only ones that are allowed to own guns. Now, how many states have a "militia". Now, define militia.

Definition of MILITIA

1

a : a part of the organized armed forces of a country liable to call only in emergency

b : a body of citizens organized for military service

2

: the whole body of able-bodied male citizens declared by law as being subject to call to military service

Looks to me like all able bodied male citizens. Or, like Dims and lawyers customarily do, do we just change the definition to suit our own needs?

My cold, dead hands!

Does she seriously think that anyone who has an unregistered gun would trot over to a government agency and admit ownership or give one up. Especially to a government that can strip search and run a peep show at airports, listen to your phone and computer private conversations without warrants, and steal the money you earn to fund people who won´t provide for themselves. In a contest of trust, I will trust normal working people over bureaucrats every time.

The one gun that I own was registered years ago and I bought it for self defense. The Government taught me how to use weapons, although I knew how before I was 10 years old. Someone stop these political idiots before they start a civil war they can´t win.

Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story—who it bears noting, was appointed to the Supreme Court by the guy who wrote the Constitution. Story wrote, “The right of citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of the republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of the rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them.”

“Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.” – Mohandas Gandhi, an Autobiography, page 446.

Ms. Feinstein is on course to be the ignition point to the second Civil War.

Think long and hard about this, Ms. Feinstein.

#34: "We are looking at a Civil War and their side has the bigger guns."

A Russian defector during the cold war was asked if Russia had any plans to invade the US.

He said absolutely not. They´re not afraid of the military, it´s the citizens with millions of guns they fear.

#60: It´s the "militia" that our goons in DC fear as well as the well armed citizens. Among the military both active, reserve and retired are thousands, maybe millions who would would take of command those "bigger guns" of which Ann of #34 refers. And, they would not be friendly to DC.

It will take three more generations to "indoctrinate" enough kids to implement this even in a small way, but it will happen. Then it will be the criminals that the goons in DC will fear when they take over. Those criminals will be what used to be "law abiding citizens."

God Bless America. And I thank him every day that he´s on our side!

Even if you fall for the militia argument (which I emphatically do not), a case can be made that We, the people who would make up the militia should have exactly the same weapons and firepower that the US Armed Services have, since the purpose of the Second Amendment is to protect We, the people against a tyrannical Federal government.

The huge cost of setting up and running such a massive national firearms and firearms owner registration system would clearly adversely outweigh any benefit derived from it. The Canadians found that out, and did away with the registration system that they had in Canada.

The only reason that the Democrats would want to set up such gun, and gun owner, data bases is if they intend to confiscate all firearms sometime in the future. Probably after another isolated horrific shooting by a nut case that creates another crisis for them to implement another incremental move towards banning all firearms.

Clearly the number of violent criminals and dangerous nut cases who have firearms and who would comply with the requirements of such a onerous registration system would be minuscule to non-existent. So this overreaching gun control proposal will only be a bother to law abiding gun owners, and only goes to further show that when guns are banned that only criminals will have them.

Congress should deep six this seriously over-reaching gun control proposal in favor of supporting ways to keep firearms out of the hands of the dangerous mentally ill as that´s where the problem is.

Several posters have already mentioned this, but if the fools in the DC bubble seriously try and push this nonsense, they are in fact on the course to a civil war (the first was a war between the states, nothing civil about it). It´s difficult for a rational person to try and wrap your head (so to speak) around the level of ignorance of the citizenry feinstein and her cohorts display.

An earlier poster mentioned that those with a concealed carry permit had already been finger-printed. It´s a little different where I´m from; I filled out the form at the Sherrif´s office, waited about 15 mins, then paid $15 and received my permit. My wife has been able to renew it for me when I have been out of town (cost an extra $1 though).

Years ago, when the site was still young, I made acquaintance with an L.dotter (who I had reason to believe had credibility) who told me about government experiments that had been taking place in California--and at the time, in San Diego. These experiments had to do with mind control. I know it sounds crazy, but there were examples that tied into a lot of the things that happened here that had never happened in other states before. Anyway, my point is...what if it´s possible that government has found a way to get to some vulnerable people and make them do these crazy things (like Sandy Hook shooting)? They could then blame the availability of guns and well...we know the rest... Is it completely farfetched? I don´t think so. We already know that these people in government don´t care about other people´s lives. They only care about power and wealth. Control is their ultimate goal.

#13, if I may... from memory...
assuming you´re talking about amending the U.S. constitution...

I think it takes a two-thirds majority vote in each chamber of Congress (House & Senate),

then, following that, any proposed amendment would require ratification by
three fourths of the states in order to be adopted as part of the constitution.

Just for the record.
Correct me if it´s wrong.

#92 my everyday 24/7 go to weapon is a smith and weapon .357. I keep it loaded other hollow point armor piercing bullets. It makes me feel protected and feminine at the same time.
Any semiautomatic assault rifle with a large capacity clip is wonderful for home protection and general piece of mind.
As back up against ammo shortages, a high velocity bow with armor piercing arrows is a Godsend.
Of course rocket launchers are the best protection, but you need a good dealer to find one.
As a last result, and to save money, you can always hacksaw the last 12-14 inches of your 12 gauge shotgun in a pinch. This creates a fabulous and deadly weapon that is so easy transport..
God bless your decision to buy a weapon. And God help any law that takes away or restricts my rights to firearms.

But the next time I purchase a firearm it will be a private transaction or a gun show where I don´t have to fill out a form. When you purchase one from a gun store and you fill that form out you are giving your name and address to the government. In addition to repealing the 2nd Amendment and seizing guns, there are also fines, imprisonment, forced mental health clinics, etc. Also am not on Facebook or anything else that provides data to the government. If this proposal by liberal Democrats were to pass it would ban almost all modern firearms being produced and sold in the US today, and would wipe out most of the small arms industry along with the other allied industries who supply just about every item you can think of relating to guns, as those industries could not survive on bidding for diminishing military contracts alone.

If that were to happen many thousands of well paying American jobs in those industries would also go down the drain.

The politicians who voted for such an overreaching gun control bill that would punish and take away the rights of tens of millions of law abiding Americans for the criminal acts of several nut jobs would in a lot of cases find it very hard to get re-elected.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday made clear that states are free to prohibit the use of racial considerations in university admissions, upholding Michigan’s constitutional amendment banning affirmative action. By a vote of 6 to 2, the court concluded that it was not up to judges to overturn the 2006 decision by Michigan voters to bar consideration of race when deciding who gets into the state’s universities. The ruling could encourage other states to join the handful that have such prohibitions, including California and Florida. Higher-education officials have warned that those states have seen a decline in the number of minorities

The Obama administration must release internal legal documents justifying the targeted killings worldwide of Americans and foreigners suspected of terrorism, a federal appeals court ruled Monday. The decision in a case brought by The New York Times, two of its reporters and the American Civil Liberties Union likely will shed new light on the administration’s use of drones to target terrorists abroad. That program has resulted in the deaths of American citizens, such as leading al Qaeda figure Anwar al-Awlaki, killed by a drone strike in Yemen in 2011. Administration officials had sought to keep internal memorandums regarding the killings

Every week I want to be number one, and we fight like hell to get there. And it’s tough right now. It’s a fight.” He adds, “I’m not just trying to sell you — well, I am trying to sell you — but I’m not going to B.S. you, either. Yeah, it’s hard. I see what our challenges are.

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. She blamed the Obama administration

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

Public Trust: Sixty-one percent polled say President Obama lies "some of the time" or "most of the time" on matters of national importance. Americans have to ask: Why do we let him get away with it? It´s no surprise that a Fox News poll of 1,012 registered voters last week found immense distrust of a president whose main domestic initiative was based on a lie. The shock is that the same poll found his disapproval level down to its lowest since last fall. Asked, "How often do you think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters?" 37% replied "most of

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning
