NEW YORK – New York City police say a man has been shoved in front of a subway train and has been killed. Investigators are searching for the woman believed to have pushed him Thursday night in Queens. It´s the second time a man was shoved to his death on subway tracks this month. Ki-Suck Han was pushed in front of a train in Times Square on Dec. 3. A photograph of him moments before the train hit him was published on the cover of the New York Post and caused an uproar. Thursday´s subway killing happened on a platform for the 7 train, which connects Manhattan and Queens.

A society that has lost its moorings.

Does NYC hold a valid subway system permit?
Will US politicians immediately call for tighter subway system controls?
Will any of them be holding valid permits
to exercise their First Amendment rights?
Stay tuned...

The woman was following him and mumbling and nobody thought to alert either the man himself or a policeman. As long as crazies are allowed to roam free random killings will continue, whether 20 innocent children or one innocent man after another. And it doesn´t take a gun if you can turn something else, even a subway car, into a weapon.

And Bloomy will handle this by banning soft drinks, upping cigarette taxes & confiscating guns from legal owners. Amazing how no one will talk about the mental health crisis.

Time to ban subways. Pushing people on train tracks don´t kill people, trains kill people.

It´s time register all trains, their conductors and all of the riders. They need permits, ID´s and anyone using the trains must have background checks to make sure they are stable enough to enter the waiting area before the train arrives.

Not to be trite #3, but could it be because the loonies are running the asylum these days?

What if they slowed the trains at the point they emerge from the tunnel and then proceed at, say, 10 MPH to the platform. Probably add 30 seconds or so to each stop. Would that be possible?

Reply 7 - Posted by: TunnelRat, 12/27/2012 11:33:50 PM     (No. 9086874)

Perhaps a 5-day waiting period to catch a train...?

I say ban all use of hands or tax use of hands at 75 percent, at the minimum, so that Obamacare can pay for medical bills and/or funeral expenses. This goes for wife beaters and those inclined to self-gratification -- big government knows who you are.

Right on #9. The guy must be really hard to kill if it takes being run over by two trains.

Reply 11 - Posted by: killerbee, 12/28/2012 12:27:07 AM     (No. 9086922)

I lived in NYC for five years. Never stand right next to the tracks, even at rush hour when it´s crowded and you´re likely not to be able to get on the train if you´re not close.

I used to stand right next to the tracks and then a woman was pushed on the tracks at a stop one block away from mine. I never stood close again. It´s the easiest way to protect yourself in the subway.

Beyond that, it´s time to get the crazies off the streets and into legitimate facilities.

All users of the subway must be registered, finger printed, and go though background checks. Convicted felons will be disallowed. Also Tea Party members, smokers, ex-military, and Clint Eastwood.

No gun necessary. The next lunatic will figure out how to push a gaggle of kindergarteners in front of the oncoming train. Still no gun necessary.

When is New York going to declare its subways a lunatic-free zone?

Reply 14 - Posted by: Libertygal, 12/28/2012 2:11:25 AM     (No. 9086961)

At least this time the headline is more close to the truth. The first event, the headline was something akin to "Subway Train Kills Man". No, a lunatic did, just like this time, just like the mass shootings.

Inanimate objects don´t kill people, people of ill intent, however, manipulate inanimate objects and use them to facilitate death.

This is what happens when people have to eat out of dumpsters waiting on FEMA. Something to do with bacterial infections of the brain.

The Alinskyites win coming and going.

Overload public services by emptying the nut houses...then...on the rebound...round up political enemies by declaring them crazy.

Where will we build the New America ?

This one is a gonner.

LONDON - The world should stop arguing about whether humans are causing climate change and start taking action to stop dangerous temperature rises, the president of the World Bank said on Wednesday. Jim Yong Kim said there was 97 to 98 percent agreement among scientists that global warming was real and caused by human activity. "If you disagree with the science of human-caused climate change you are not disagreeing that there is anthropogenic climate change. What you are disagreeing with is science itself," Kim told a Thomson Reuters Newsmaker event in London. "It is time to stop arguing

Islamabad - Four US soldiers have been killed in an attack in Afghanistan hours after the US announced it will engage in its first formal direct talks with the Taliban after dropping its long-standing demand that the movement renounce ties with al-Qaeda in order for them to progress. A US official said insurgents attacked Bagram Air Base with "indirect fire", suggesting the soldiers were killed by mortars or rockets. There were very few details of the attack, which threatens to impact on the US´s first formal direct talks with the Taliban, due to start on Thursday. One key condition

Amazon and other e-commerce firms are cutting ties with all Minnesotans who earn money by posting links that send traffic to online merchants after lawmakers passed a tweak to state sales tax law. Minnesota E-Fairness legislation, signed by Gov. Mark Dayton on May 23 and going into effect July 1, classifies independent bloggers and online reviewers as a physical presence of a business in the state. This means online companies who pay these people to generate new sales must collect tax not just on those sales, but on all sales in the state. The tax on online

Perils of moving to a no-tax state

NEW YORK - You might think that moving to a state with no income tax would greatly simplify your tax life. Not so fast. If you´re not careful, it could greatly complicate things and cost you tons in back taxes and penalties. For example, if you are still planning to spend significant time in your former state, you better limit it to less than 183 days. Why? Spending any more time there could mean you´ll be treated as a resident of that state and therefore have to pay tax. And it´s not just days spent in-state

NEW YORK -- At perhaps a bad time in U.S. employment, it seems there´s a "perception gap" between what workers think they´re worth on the job and how employers see them. Analysis by Bryant & Stratton College with help from Wakefield Research from a survey among U.S. adults age 18 to 34 found that 80% of workers believe they are "job ready and possess all the skills, experience and education needed to advance in their desired career path or obtain their next job." Yet 40% of U.S. employers say most entry-level job candidates lack even the basic skills needed

BERLIN/FRANKFURT - European car sales plunged last month to their lowest May level in two decades, eroding manufacturers´ hopes for a recovery this year after a rebound the month before. Figures on Tuesday from the Association of European Carmakers showed Germany, France and Italy, accounting for about half of the embattled region´s sales, suffered declines at or near double-digit percentage levels. Registrations across the 27-nation European Union dropped 5.9 percent to 1.04 million cars from 1.11 million a year ago, the lowest since May 1993 when sales fell below 1 million, the Association said.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

The Obamas never miss an opportunity to mingle with the stars and during a two-day trip in Dublin, who better to have lunch with than iconic Irish rocker and philanthropist Bono? First Lady Michelle along with daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, started Tuesday with an hour-long visit to picturesque Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains--but the two girls looked like they would have rather slept in at their luxury hotel. Glendalough is famous for its Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, the hermit priest. After appearing less than thrilled on Monday while viewing Medieval manuscripts
