Study tracks 30 years of Newark
murders as ´infectious disease´

Star-Ledger [Newark, NJ], by David Giambusso and James Queally

Newark — Homicides in Newark have spread through the city over the past 30 years like an infectious disease and can be tracked and treated like a public health issue with prevention, inoculation and treatment, according to a study by Michigan State University. The study, among the first to track murder through the lens of medical research, is part of a widening trend among local leaders and the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to treat violent crime like a medical condition.(Snip) Their report, titled "Homicide as Infectious Disease," said the clusters originated in the Central Ward and moved south

Comments:
Here´s a new way for ostrich liberals to ignore the corrosive effects of their own social policies: Pretend that specific acts of violence reflect a disease state, as if a fact of nature.

Authors claim to know all demographic details, yet the only allusion to such is the "race riots" of the 1960s. An overlay graphic showing the spread of welfare housing and of "white flight" would tell the story, which is why there´s no overlay.

Well, the solution is simple then, don´t let anyone move out of Newark to "infect" other areas. . .

Isn´t it funny how an infectious disease stops at the border of a white neighborhood. They´re alwasy trying to make excuse for erratic black behavior when the main problem is they object to the white standard of laws and behaviors.Even a decent black kid who actually wants to learn is browbeat into being called an oreo or a sellout. Being a victim sets these people up for financial compensation when everything they do is a personal choice.

I love how they talk about the lack of jobs leading to crime when crime is the reason there´s a lack of jobs. A lot of inner city businesses, ran by Koreans or middle easterners have plexiglass protection aroind the serving counters. Show me a while neighborhood that has these.

Leftists in the state dept. fight tooth and nail against white christian families adopting orphans from haiti because they´re afraid they´ll turn out to be decent people an implode the myth of black victimization.

A lot of these problems are self inflicted. Before 1941, few blacks lived in NJ. Then WWII. Needed strong men (who would not be drafted) to work at Curtis Wright Builders in Patterson, NJ.

NYC Mayor John Lindsay too.

These problems have been imported.

These are the same social scientists who commanded a frog to jump after removing each of its legs. When the frog failed to jump after removing the fourth leg they came to conclusion that the frog went deaf.

A spent his welfare check on drugs. B spent his on a pair of Air Jordans. A wants a pair of Air Jordans but doesn´t have any more money, only a gun. Poor B.

I like the idea of thinking of these murderers as a bacteria or virus and they should be wiped out the same way.

Drug test for gov´t benefits, lower taxes, encourage investment in communities, bring back God, bring back dad and change gun laws that makes it easy for self defense.

The true cause has been known for decades:

The steady expansion of welfare programs can be taken as a measure of the steady disintegration of the Negro family structure over the past generation in the United States.

So if it is an infectious disease, then what is the treatment? Free drugs? Free Airs? Free ammo? All for treatment...pseudo social science strikes again...

#7, have to excise the source of the infection from the body politic too, not just treat the symptoms. The source is libtards/progtards.

Maybe if liberal Newark permanently locked up their infectious diseases, it wouldn´t spread. Oh, that´s right. It´s not their fault.

A hotly contested gun-control law that was passed in 2007 is finally ready to be implemented, Attorney General Kamala Harris said Friday: a requirement that every new semiautomatic handgun contain "micro-stamping" technology that would allow police to trace a weapon from cartridges found at a crime scene. The law, signed by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, made California the first state to require micro-stamping, which engraves the gun´s serial number on each cartridge. A second ´house of horrors´ abortion clinic is being investigated in Texas, just days after Dr Kermit Gosnell was found guilty of murdering newborns at his Philadelphia termination center. Houston doctor Douglas Karpen is accused by four former employees of delivering live fetuses during third-trimester abortions and killing them by either snipping their spinal cord, stabbing a surgical instrument into their heads or ´twisting their heads off their necks with his own bare hands´. Other times the fetus was so big he would have to pull it out of the womb in pieces, Karpen´s ex-assistant, Deborah Edge, said

President Francois Hollande will decide by the end of July whether France should impose new taxes on technology giants like Apple and Google to finance cultural projects, a move that could feed into an anti-business image days after a spat with Yahoo!. The Socialist government asked former Canal Plus CEO Pierre Lescure to find new ways of funding culture during an economic downturn, in line with France´s "cultural exception" argument that such projects must be shielded from market forces. While far from becoming laws, the proposals could worsen tension between France and technology giants after Industry Minister Arnaud Montebourg

Montgomery, Alabama – Acting state Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Worley lowered her head and slowly shook it side to side when summing up the financial condition of her once powerful party. "We´re broke, broke, broke," Worley told the party´s Executive Board in a special called meeting Frida. How broke is broke? Worley didn´t sugar coat the answer. "This is my 18th day as chair and thirty minutes after I took over on April 22nd the landlord of the building where our party headquarters are came in and said he wanted us out, that the rent was overdue and was always overdue,"

Trenton — Police officials are examining the response to a 911 call Sunday night that left a city man struggling with an intruder at his building without any officers arriving. Dan Dodson said it was 20 or 30 minutes before two officers eventually arrived in response to his wife’s calls to police telephone numbers. “We’re looking into it to determine if the proper protocols were followed,” Lt. Steve Varn said yesterday evening. Yesterday, Dodson said he was deciding where to buy a baseball bat in case someone else was able to slip into his home. He believes one of the two

The Internal Revenue Service relies on technology more than ever to sniff out tax cheats using robo-audits and data mining—but so far it has caught lot of minnows, and big fish are still eluding detection. Even as millions of people´s accounts are screened online and matched against their digital files elsewhere, the IRS´s data-detection tools come nowhere close to collecting the $400 billion in tax dodges estimated to take place each year. The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
