| Over the last few months leading ladies have leapt to the defence of Hitchcock whose reputation has been tarnished in a drama based on the experiences of Tippi Hedren, who starred in The Birds and Marnie. According to The Girl, the BBC drama in which the Hedren is portrayed by Sienna Miller, Hitchcock subjected the former model to sexual harassment and physical abuse including threatening her with broken glass. In one scene the director lunges at Hedren and his attempt to kiss the actress borders on an assault. Her rejection, the drama alleges, was avenged by Hitchcock

It seems Tippi may have a better understanding of animals than humans. Maybe she has been on safari too long.

My late cousin dated Tippi Hedren when they were in college. She was not a very stable person. And desperately ambitious. She worked for a "model agency" owned by a predatory guy who recruited attractive young teenaged girls from our community, put them through his modeling school and then represented them as models. Some of the older girls were used to providing favors to the owner as part of their path to greater income and success. Tippi was with him a long, long time.
In light of her long history with this guy, it seems odd that she´d have found it necessary to denigrate Alfred Hitchcock, who gave her her movie break. A break she never did much with after that.
It´s also odd the the other blonde women he promoted in his films had successful careers and don´t seem to have been traumatized by their relationships with him. All are far more famous than Tippi.
She ended up working with animals.

Hitch made many movies that entertain and fascinate me. Plus his tv shows where he makes comments at the beginning and end are priceless. I think Tippi can take care of herself. Could be wrong but Hitch never appeared to be much of a Don Juan.

It must get confusing in the IT department at the Associated Press: Are you talking about the hackers who hacked our Twitter account or the Justice Department hackers who hacked our phones? Monday, the Associated Press reported that the Justice Department had secretly obtained two months of records of phone conversations by its reporters. Meanwhile, the Washington Post revealed that the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative groups was more widespread than first reported. Last week, Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ostentatiously announced their intention to fight implementation of the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). They sent a letter to the President decrying the way IPAB will “impact America’s seniors … in the absence of the democratic process.” Sadly, the exercise was a charade. McConnell and Boehner know perfectly well that Obama has no intention of setting up this controversial board until after 2015.

President Obama’s second term is off to a rocky start, but that should not obscure for Republicans the fact that their party is facing many well-documented problems. They include everything from campaign mechanics and overly long presidential primaries to changing demographics and mediocre candidates. But there’s something more fundamental at play. The GOP doesn’t have a compelling, or even a particularly identifiable, governing vision. That may be sufficient for a congressional party committed to blocking President Obama’s agenda, but it’s not sufficient for a national party that wants to once again win presidential elections.

The Benghazi story until now has been a jumble of factoids that didn´t quite cohere, didn´t produce a story that people could absorb and hold in their minds. This week that changed. Three State Department officials testifying under oath to a House committee changed it, by adding information that gave form to a growing picture. Gregory Hicks, Mark Thompson and Eric Nordstrom were authoritative and credible. You knew you were hearing the truth as they saw and experienced it. Not one of them seemed political. You had no sense of how they voted. They were professionals.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate."
